This indeed seems to be the problem, now it’s quite the search in how to switch it around because it seems there are many who have the same issue and haven’t found a way to set their games to the AMD either. Right now working on drivers and other required programs to perhaps be more fortunate.

Get into your Laptops Bios, there might be an option to set the Graphics to ‘high Performance’. I know that some later HP notebooks included this feature to fix this issue as the software is very buggy when switching from intel IGP to AMD/Nvidia Discrete.

I have an HP DV6z (AMD 7690M and A8-3550MX-6620G). I have to use the AMD CCC utility to switch between which Card to use. But on my Wifes HP DV6 with a i5 and 7670M she has a Bios Option for ‘Performance/Standard’ in her bios to force the system to switch between the intel HD Graphics and the AMD 7670M.

Probably because that’s “dv6”, not Pavilion G7 like we have

That’s right mate. You have to enter the graphics driver options and set up “Guild wars 2” to ALWAYS run on the ATI chip. I have a pavilion model with 6gb ram (the rest is the same) and FPS is great even in “high-populated” locs.

that would change a lot. now after some person leaves the game people just lay on the ground afk waiting for their stats ruining. both teams waste time to get undeserved stats.

the loading was short on any settings until the patch

Did you check your graphics settings? The patch set all my graphics to high, which makes it take longer to load. One of the settings has a huge impact. Texture detail maybe.

now on the lowest settings loading is 2 times longer than before the patch with high quality settings

P.S. same story, good perfomance pc with SSD. waiting for the fix

Thats why Hotjoin was implemented. Solo Arena is nothing more than 5v5 hotjoin, people are mostly dumb, clueless and stubborn. Nobody gives a rats kitten about any form of coordination, tactics or whatnot, and usually these 2 kittens cost you the match.

How is it a good experience for anyone? How do you learn from that? Do tell.

Its fair , both teams can have newly’s or people that aren’t the brightest .
Up to the experienced players to guide them alittle . Eventualy people learn from there mistakes.
But if the experienced players start kitten ing on the new players , NOW that is what creates a bad experience. Its a game you will respawn when dead ( atm abit late on LoF but you still respawn )
A new player probably understands that he/she isn’t gone be a god wright away , else he’s/she’s playing the wrong kind of game for he/she.

That’s so redicilous, you are entering “SOLO ARENA” to take part in random TEAM fights in the same huge public areas. Everyone knows that your personal “solo” role is 20% in such games. Solo arena means a duel, or any other game where you don’t depend on random teammates.
I appreciate the Anet’ job done, but really – that’s a “Solo Queue”, “Random team arena”, anything. But not “Solo arena”> That’s simply not true.
