I bought the Ultimate edition and now is regretting GW2 doesn’t work reliably on Mac. Less than responsive technical support is a big put off for me. I must say Blizzard’s technical support is just awesome, quick and very professional. They even have in-game support in toons! I guess this is the price we pay for such non-subscription model like GW2. Or is the Mac Community treated as 2nd class i.e. this group of customers is not important, not worth it?
Anet made a lot of effort winning me over from Blizzard which I have been with them for more than 10 years. I played nothing else but Blizzard products. HOWEVER, now I have 2nd thoughts. Such a shame…

It’s just too unstable running on a Mac. It’s a shame really.
Bottom line – NOT stable. It’s just a Beta and yes it runs via WINE.
I’m running both on an iMAC 27" 3.4GHz (Mid-2011) and a MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012). OSX 10.10.5. GW2 keeps crashing on both. You’d be better off bootcamp to Windows.
Technical Specs
Processor: 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 12 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2048 MB
Background apps: All disabled and running GW2 on a freshly boot system.
Hi,
I am running GW2 on Mac OSX Yosemite Ver 10.10.5 iMAC 27" mid 2011. The game frequently crashes – about twice in an hour. It doesn’t generate system error reports like other programs use to. It just crashes into white screen. Sometimes have to force quit. I understand GW2 for Mac is in it’s Beta version. It’s frustrating when doing story half way, it crashes and have to restart all over. Any get around?
Thanks.
Charles
