Ello, self proclaimed abnormal thief; xia here lol
This time its about the weapon sigils, being that i am a survivalist/support thief i was hoping to get some info/feedback on some sigils.
1. Sigil of water; 30% chance to heal allies.
Q; How exactly does this work? Does it heal myself as well as my allies when it does proc, where does it proc? Say i shoot someone with my SB if the sigil procs will the aoe heal happen on my char, or on/around the enemy that was hit with the proc’d arrow, i was told i could use SB’s clusterbomb move sorta like an aoe heal pump ala Cluster+healing field without the need of the healing field if i use this sigil But im unsure of how to test it and its general functions.
2. How much is the heal worth? Does it scale with your healing power? or is it a negligable base amount.
Now onto the next topic i need some assistance on, Runes.
My chars defensive/survival stats are as follows; 2.7k armor rating, 17k health 900 healing power.
When it comes to runes im extremely torn about what to get, im not sure if i should beef up my toughness more or go more towards vitality or maybeh go 50/50 on them
or maybe just put them into something offensive so im more well rounded, id appreciate your thoughts/input. [sorry about the semi wall of txt]
I’m hoping this will be one of those threads were the devs can get a feel for how the thief community feels, if this gets out of hand in any sort of trolling/flaming way, devs lock this thread with the quicknesssss, if you have any opinion on your class, feel free to chime in. I personally could justify a small nerf to backstab, but ONLY if it comes along with some reworking/mild buff’s to some of our other weapon sets, things like looking at the p/p set of skills or possibly even giving us a flanking strike that actually works [i think something along the lines of ranger’s version of fs, just without poison and instead with evasion of some other mild benefit] I also agree with with the notion that most people tend to stick close to backstab builds, just because to be honest half of our weapon skills aren’t exactly well thought out, im no expert on what weapon sets should be doing what, but when i rock p/p and the only skill i usually use is unload and the stealth attack, somethings a bit off, same goes with sword, i tried going s/d but theres no reason for it…flanking strike its broken, if you use sword its either s/p or no sword it seems like to me.
TL;DR
accept the fact that our class weapon sets arent exactly balanced, if you could barter with the dev’s, what would you like to see a lil love for in exchange for giving up some op backstab damage?
[I personally would love to see dual swords, i know it probably wont ever happen, so maybeh a dual skill for sword/dagger that was actually useful/awesome]
Ahh, makes sense, better to save the bow for wvw wheres its prolly most useful, d/d with p/d seems to make the most sense, thanks for the tips
Sounds about what i had when i was running condition/healer, saving up for dagger storm atm, one of the things i was torn on was whether to go d/d or p/d for the build, Db is a great evasive move, but the stealth attack for pistol is great for stacking. Whats your take on weapon sets with this?
Im sorta glad you brought that up actually, at first i figured id need some way to deal damage, so i turned to conditions, i’d prolly have to go back into pvp and try some things out, but any tips for making it balanced? I’d like to be able to be able to heal and keep my friends alive or at least prolong them while dishing out decent damage when im given the oppourtunity or they just plain dont need me.
lvl 80 pvp build: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fYQQNAoYVlUmaPHfS6E/5EB3DmaUn6VAsdPuqWtKA
for some reason wouldnt let me post it with the runes saved :s But i planned on using monk runes for the aegis and +healing and a mix of vit/tough/pow/prec upgrade stones
My main char so far is a thief, lvl 50 or so and i kind of noticed how easy it is for you to die; say if somethings on cooldown your out of dodges or you just plain get roflstomped, plus when i ran dungeons with my guild i would have to be revived pretty often, i was losing more coin then i was making so i decided to try and think out of the box…they say there’s no “healer” class even though gaurdian is probably the closest to it, but i messed around with some traits, learned alot of new things about this class, and im sorta suprised that i havent seen this before to my knowledge, so il introduce my “build”, its based around survivability and healing to be more beneficial to party and general pve activites.
TL;DR
Got tired of dying pretty often, made a experimental build; my shadow support [i use that term loosely]
Would like to see other peoples opinions on it, possible ways i could improve it/and or why i shouldn’t bother with it.
