in pve i gues it is fine but for Spvp , is bad choice, you cant stack over 15s of bleeding on a half decent player, they can remove all your stacks and you have no damage, or they can out dps and kill you before your conditons do any damage.
and the animation are fail
true sword/sword is definitely a “PVE only” build. I think mace/mace and hammer are the better PvP choices. Longbow rocks in WvW though.

Keep the comments coming guys! I really think this can be a “staple” build for PvE /5 man dungeons.
Has anyone else actually tried it?
I run a similar build with bow and axes (dabbling with GS now, though). Love it. I’m sure there’s a damage difference in not specing discipline, but I’d rather put those points into survivability because it does seem to make a difference in dungeons.
So true! One thing I learned about this game is that it’s so different from typical MMOs in that EVERYONE is a tank haha. Defensive tree is really solid. Thanks for comment!
I’ve played warrior to 80 and done most dungeons in explo. I have played my warrior as a banner supportive one, and not had much “power”. But I havent ever needed any. Either way I got this one question; You are aiming for sword and axes? or are you going to use a ranged weapon too? (I found it best with a longbow fo aoe dmg and dual axes for aoe dmg)
I use sword/sword main (swithcing to axes OH in boss events) and a longbow as my second weapon. It rocks! (like you said )
Build seems pretty solid and well rounded.
I like it!Only “downside” depending on how you see it, is that you rely heavily on bleeds, which in it’s current state with the 25 stack maximum is well…

The stacking is only usually a problem when you are fighting a “big boss” mob with many people (like an event). When events happen I usually go axe offhand (for the crit attack and the aoe whirl) and it works really well with ground effects and I realy less on bleeds.

I have recently discovered the power of using the defensive tree combined with the Strength and Arms trees for damage. I thought I’d share it with you guys. For soloing in PvE I have found nothing better. This has the same power as the signet crit/GS build but with much more survivability.

Some of the bonuses:
Major
Great Fortitude: 5% of power is given as a bonus to vitality.
Dual Wielding: Damage is increased by 5% when wielding an axe, mace, or sword in your off hand.
Deep Cuts: Bleeds you apply last 50% longer.
Blademaster: Increases your critical-hit chance with a sword by 10%.
Turtle’s Defense: Gain +200 toughness when crippled, chilled, stunned, or immobilized.
Missile Deflection: Reflect missiles whenever you are blocking.
Minor
Reckless Dodge: Damage foes at the end of a dodge roll.
Building Momentum: Burst skills restore endurance.
Precise Strikes: 33% chance to cause bleeding on critical hits.
Critical Burst: Burst skills have a 10% increased critical chance.
Attack of Opportunity: Increases damage to bleeding foes by 10%.
Thick Skin: Extra armor when health is above 90%.
Adrenal Health: Regenerate health based on adrenaline level.
Armored Attack: 5% of toughness is given as a bonus to power.
This spec allows for supreme survivability (+toughness and vitality) and good damage output (critcals, bleeds and bonus to power from vitality). The awesome part is you can adapt it for dungeons with a few quick changes to your traits (add the +90 toughness and reduced shield cooldowns) and then add banners or defensive shouts.
Please try it out before you diss it, or say “WHY NOT TAKE THE 30 POINT TALENTS OMGWTFBBQ”.
DISCLAIMER: I am only level 55 or so right now, so I have no comments yet on gear or end-game viability. Please feel free to comment if you are 80 and have tried it.
