Thanks for the feedback all! Quoting multiple posts annoying and takes long, so I’ll just do it like this:
- @Yamato.8932: I honestly didn’t think about PvE. I think those stats could indeed )
Coming back for another question: weapon-wise, do you think there are any alternatives out there?
I certainly have nothing against the functionality of GS. I agree that it’s probably the best choice for the build. I just find the playstyle really boring! Would hammer perhaps be a suitable alternative, or even mace/axe MH?
Or should I just go to bed?
I should probably go to bed.I don’t think using axe in both sets in main hand is useful. However I see 2 viable options:
- Axe / Axe or Warhorn + Mace / Shield (Here your mace shield will be defensive + lotta CC)
- Sword/axe + Axe/shield
I think the seconds option is best. Offhand axe is in a descent spot now after the update and you can use the fury in the build alot that it offers. You still do not lose mobility because of sword 2 and have a burst skill on sword 3.
I do not think that hammer is viable, however you gotta test that to be sure. Hammer is a slow weapon which doesn’t really work with this build. Next to that it’s berserker burst skill is increadibly weak.
However I don’t like playing hammer so this is all theory. I suggest you just try it
Thanks very much for the detailed response! I’ll give this a go. If it doesn’t work out, it’s back to GS for me!

I should probably go to bed.
Note: The Amulet is Mender’s. It is not available on the build editor yet.
Just curious: am I right in assuming that the best PvE substitute for Mender’s Amulet should be a mix of Zealot and Magi stats?
Build looks cool btw!
Looks like a fun guild!
I’ve been playing since launch on Aurora Glade. Quite a casual player, since I get a lot of lag and I haven’t got much free time these days. Looking for a new guild because my guild doesn’t really chat much anymore, which is a shame!
I’m online for a couple hours a few times a week, mostly in the early afternoon EU time. I play from Japan (hence lag).
Anyway, I’ll contact you in-game (unless you contact me first!)
I found this legend probably the least useful of the three so far (and that’s really saying something). Thoroughly outclassed by Guards/Eles and other healing builds. I think it could easily be fixed, though.
- Swiftness. There’s a reason runes of the centaur are focused on swiftness! As a centaur legend, Ventari should surely be able to grant swiftness to players or groups. I’d recommend a trait in the Salvation specialization. Something pretty simple, like “When in legendary centaur stance, you have a 25% chance to gain swiftness for 10s when hit (ICD: 20s).” Or maybe simply a generic 25% speed boost while in legendary centaur stance. The Revenant seems to lack mobility (so far), and Ventari seems to be the right place to offer it.
- More Ventari-related traits in general! Somewhere in the salvation tree, there should be at least one selectable trait along the lines of “When in legendary centaur stance, randomly grant swiftness, protection or aegis to nearby allies every 10 seconds.” Or: “When in legendary centaur stance, remove a condition from allies every 10 seconds.” It should be optional, not forcing Salvation specialists to choose Ventari. Revenants need some customizability, especially since utilities and weapons are pretty limited.
- That ****** tablet should follow you, or at least somehow take care of itself. Honestly, I think the tablet is a really cool idea but it basically prevents me from using any other skills! I kept thinking “Uh oh, have I gone too far from my tablet?” and basically spamming skill #6 instead of using weapon skills. Failing that, the tablet’s effective radius should be increased. Just… anything to make the experience less annoying.
- Stance should offer boons in addition to/rather than straight heals. Ventari players should be protectors as well as healers (that’s already the idea behind util #7 and the staff). There are lots of boons that I think would work here: protection, swiftness, aegis, and regeneration in particular. Maybe skill 6, instead of moving the tablet, could make it create a boon burst (a little bit like the Engineer’s healing turret).
- Reduce cast time on elite skill. The skill itself has a cool idea, but it’s really annoying to cast. Interrupts need to be quick-cast skills that can change the flow of an encounter. I don’t care if the cooldown is increased—I think it just needs to cast more quickly!
- More CC, perhaps. Centaur-style knockdown? Some sort of AOE wards? AOE roots based around tablet? I think that kind of gameplay would be in keeping with the idea of Ventari in general.
Anyway, I think the legend has a lot of cool ideas in it, but none of them really work together yet. Just some random thoughts.
Dull/Interesting.
(Great idea, but playstyle limitations are horrible.)

I’m surprised to find myself agreeing with the angry majority in this thread.
The “expansion” is bizarrely expensive. But I’m OK with that. It looks fun, and I can definitely fork out for something that I’m interested in.
What I’m not OK with is:
1) How little extra comes with different purchase tiers (particularly lowest -> second lowest)
2) No extras for veteran players to compensate for weird “game is free” move
3) Terrible, terrible communication surrounding this decision
Honestly, point 3) is that one that has me worried. We’ve heard/seen very little explanation regarding this bizarre marketing move. The FAQ ignores it entirely. The answers so far have been short sentences that don’t explain the issue (“to clarify:”? Yeah right, thanks).
I’d happily spring for the $99 version if they’d explained why they were doing this.
As things are, I’d consider linking the purchase to an entirely separate email account and treating myself to five new character slots. But of course I’m not going to, because—sigh— I still like this game and the team behind it).
I’ll be buying HoT, but (at the risk of sounding melodramatic/self-important) I’m pretty disappointed with how this has been handled.

Found the same thing, hoping this gets fixed kind of soon because the runes require quite a bit of investment, and this turns into disappointment when you hit SC and… nothing happens! No losing all conditions, gaining all buffs.
Ah well
