Lava font works well. Or the water 2 skill.
I admit, it was probably rather crass, rude, and mean to start a fight in a PvP area, yet everyone seemed to enjoy it, not just myself. For quite a while it was just me and a couple guildies trying to hold off easily 8+ people in the arena while most of our own server watched.
Was what I did kind of a kitten move? Probably, yet this is a PvP zone. People attack me on sight everywhere else. Normally I leave people alone when I see an unofficial truce going on out of respect anyway.
When I went to the EB jumping puzzle with a couple guildmates I noticed everyone was being all hunky-dory and not touching eacheother, so what did I do? I attacked everyone in sight and started a war since there was blood in the water now.
You can call me whatever you want, but we had fun the entire time we were there instead of just sitting around doing nothing in a PvP zone. Eventually the other two servers rallied together to make a gigantic push (easily 20 people on both sides) against our server that was holding the top area and flooded by us all.
It is a PvP zone/puzzle, if you aren’t enjoying the fights and are getting frustrated that people may be camping the puzzle, then come back another time when people are less inclined to kill you.
You have no one else to blame but yourself if you keep running in there to die.
I’m partial to my idea of gaining an Arcana Attunement as an elite so we can make better use of the arcana traits, but this is an interesting idea.
Or you could, you know, look for the portal and just get the treb down to 1% so that when he returns you hit it once and he can’t portal to repair it for another 90 seconds.
I find it odd that people would complain about what city became the “hub city” when it is normally chosen for its qualities. I, for one, am fine with LA because it serves its purpose, it has a bank, skill trainers, broker, etc.
Hub cities, in my mind, are always created due to what it can do for you. Back in FFXI the first hub city was Jeuno because you could do anything and go anywhere you wanted from that city, people even shouted and bazaar’d stuff there. It was years later that Aht’Urgan (probably spelt it wrong) was added in an expansion and that became the new major hub city (It even had a way to teleport back to Jeuno).
The only way I forsee a new hub city being created is if the content people want to do can only be easily accessed from another city without sacrificing much. Right now you can go anywhere from Lion’s Arch, and considering all the portals that aren’t active yet I don’t think we’ll be leaving this city anytime soon really.
GekoHayate.2451One of the most famous youtube thieves is a JQ native, He popularized the solo wall jumping exploit and used it frequently.
No one on JQ would engage in this behavior? Nice claim, now prove it.
I know the thief you are talking about, especially since I fought with him many times in Rift PvP.
In my opinion he made the video about the wall jump to show people what others are doing and how the exploit worked so that it would sooner get fixed rather than stay in the game. Also, if others are doing it, why shouldn’t he? Is the point he was probably getting across as well.
I thought you were going to ask why is it 3 for 3 instead of 1 for 1, which I think is a far better question.
Yeah, it seems to have embedded itself anyway just by putting the link there though.
And I’m glad you enjoyed it!
My short story on what happens when we find thieves. Sorry for the low volume on the video it is my first time using my own audio narrations for comics I make.
I don’t know how to embed >.< If anyone can help me with that… And I hope you enjoy it!
For those that say elementalist can “tank” better than guardian or warrior… I have to disagree. I have seen both warriors and guardians that spec very defensively able to face tank pretty much everything in both PvP and PvE. Yet when I try to tank the same things as my ele I have to eventually kite certain bosses around as I try to heal myself up. Not to mention most fights as an elementalist is a fight just to survive, yet guardian/warrior can just stand there and take it to the face and not worry too much.
Now, these situations are, of course, different depending on what you’re fighting, but ele does do a little bit more damage than a defensive guardian, and probably on par with defensive warriors if not below them just a bit. The tradeoff, of course, being the fact that we take more damage than them, so of course we should do a bit more damage.
That’s just my opinion though. I love my d/d elementalist I have played since beta, and I just hope they don’t nerf it as hard as they did the glass cannon scepter/dagger build after people cried in beta. We had to line up several spells in a row to get that combo off, yet thief can push 2 buttons and do just as much and no one cares.
I think it would be nice if our collectables we put in our bank would stack higher than 250. Maybe bump it up to 999 or something so I don’t have to carry around or find places to store all my stacks of 250 of whatever material it is I have a lot of or am storing up. Thank you for considering and reading this!
They had me change some options around for my NVIDIA card and also in game (when it loaded), as well as disabling all startup programs to see if it helped things. None of it helped, so they said sorry and that I really should upgrade to a 64-bit OS because he says that would get rid of my issue for sure.
I’m debating just installing windows 7 on this harddrive but then I would lose everything I have. I’d rather back up my stuff somewhere first ya know?
Currently with my ticket I submitted, and from what I can see with most people with this issue (until today), they seem to heavily blame our 32-bit OS and want us to upgrade to 64-bit. I plan on doing that someday but I don’t have a spare harddrive for it yet.
I would like a dev to look into this, since I have this issue as well. It is very frustrating to go from the game running perfectly fine, to only getting it to load once out of ten attempts. I have tried re-installing, updating my drivers, underclocking, etc. This seems to have started after the initial halloween update, so whatever you changed then might be causing this.
I am really looking forward to the last two acts. Though I am also worried that by the end of the event I’ll have nothing halloweeny other than the free horns and the flaming book (which I think looks awesome) just because I’m not a rich person. Maybe I’m greedy or spoiled for wanting to dress up for the holiday without being rich to do so? Hrm.
I know a lot of people have posted and voiced their opinion about this already, but I just wanted to post my experience in MMO holiday events.
The first MMO I ever played was FFXI for quite a few years at that. For their holiday events they tried to make them fun to do as well as give you the holiday fluff items (may it be house decorations or armor/weapons) that were just that, fluff and fun items. You even had an NPC that would hold these things for you to help you conserve space. I liked this method a lot, which is have fun in the event and get the fluff items to carry with you so you can have even more fun with friends and any other time.
The next MMO I moved to was Aion, which was sort of the same from what I can remember from my short time there. You participated in the event and got the fluff items. I also don’t remember Rift being all that terrible with holiday events either, but I could remember wrong since neither of these two games kept with me like FFXI did.
So now I come to GW2, where they said things would be fun and enjoyable, yet I seem to get the complete opposite feeling at times with some of the changes they do. When I learned I could finally get my hands on a craftable skin by participating in the event, I was quite happy, but then about 20 minutes later a patch comes in and suddenly my chances drop significantly (looting a chest once per day during a limited event? how does that make sense?).
Now, I can understand the efforts put into making a legendary item, but putting that kind of effort into holiday fun items seems rather off-putting. I even tried to get my hands on a black lion chest skin for a friend and me, yet those prices jumped 10 gold overnight… I’m not sure how being forced to grind or not get the fun skins/items at all is considered fun really. Is it the no subscription thing that influences this kind of holiday spirit? Because it baffles me that an event that is supposed to be fun is turned into a hopeless grind for things your non-hardcore gamers can’t seem to afford.
Anyway, that’s my own little rant for now. Feel free to flame or discuss away. Maybe a developer or someone can help explain to me why I need to be rich and work as though I’m making a legendary just to get holiday fluff skins to have fun with my friends.
Milennin.4825Because you can change your skills anytime outside combat…
What I meant were traits. Sorry for the poor wording.
If we’re supposed to be able to “try different things/tactics” then why aren’t there skill reset npcs in the dungeons as well?
Just a thought, but maybe we should get an elite that gives us access to an “Arcane” attunement? Could be interesting.
Honor of the Waves has an armor set with those stats on it.
I’m not sure if this has been posted before, but can we just automatically get the loot from people/things we kill? Or maybe put it into a PvP pouch that sits at the side of the screen like reward chests so I don’t have to scan the battlefield or spam my loot button during a war?
I like how the bag drops right at your feet, but in the thick of battle and with how important moving around is I just find it silly that I have to keep tabs of where the bags drop so I can loot them later. (assuming I’m still alive)
