Two words: Meatober Fest

/nuked my middle level Asura eng and rerolled it as a Charr when I discovered that.

I’ve ran across 3 just in the past couple hours or so, was only able to screen shot a couple of them. One I was actually able to target but they popped out before I could hit report.

I’ve been sending the info to that exploits@arena.net address but not really sure if there’s a point to doing it.

A few days ago, I saw someone in Orr appear out of nowhere next to me to mine a Mithril node (not orichalcum), then disappear.

They were a level 80 character stipped down to a pair of shorts.

Yeah, I’ve seen that a few times recently. (on Iron nodes of all places).
I wrote off the vanishing the first time I saw it as a graphics glitch or something but this Charr toon I saw being naked struck me as odd. It had an actual name that looked like some thought had been put into it, so not sure if these are “hacked” stolen accounts or what.

Haven’t quit figured out how to report these, they’re slippery. Not quite sure if names are unique or not so guesting may complicate things a bit in that regard, so I’ve just been screen capping and saving the shots till I get around to finding out how to turn them in.

It’s because that stuff is trash that everyone makes boatloads of while leveling crafting. Tons of people use crafting as a way to turn gold into experience/levels, and couldn’t care less about the byproducts. There is nowhere near enough demand to outpace the massive supply… and most people never use food before level 80 since it takes so little time to get there.

May be true in a lot of cases, I’ve found it’s only worth keeping the GB stocked with stacks of level 40+ grub ( with a few exceptions) but the main point was about the broken search functionality re: buff items in general.

I’m sure it’ll get sorted out at some point, but I hadn’t seen anything calling attention to it.

filter->consumable->food = nothing but vendor booze.

Leveling cooking I noted that the buffs on this stuff are pretty good and was surprised more people don’t use them. When I checked the TP to sell excess product I couldn’t figure out why nothing was moving, or things that took 8s worth of mats were being listed at 1c.

So I tried out the search and that’s when I noticed the problem.
Is this going to be fixed at some point or is it working fine and I’m just lacking some ‘tribal knowlege’ like “Silly noob, everyone knows food shows up under armor/pants/rare” ?

edit: Just noticed it’s the same with pots, sharpening stones, etc. so it must be a general issue with buff items.

I didn’t realize I’d accidentally made Sturm Brightblade until around level 30 or so. creeping up on 80, 4 levels shy.

just got hit with a little update. looks like it worked.

Ive tried all my characters – cant log in at all. All types of armour class lol. i really dont think the error is discriminating against medium armour classes

Not so much about the armor – but those professions that use it (don’t remember what they’re called)
I’m just trying to figure out a pattern – what everyone has in common
so far from what I can tell there’s the level thing (2 levels, should’ve gained one), and zoning/transition from one place to another.

Anyone notice anything else?

same thing just happened, same error code ( 7:11:3:189:101 )
On the off chance character state changes have anything to do with it, it started a heartbeat after a character leveled in a story instance on leaving the instance. (leaving the home lodge back outside to Hoelbrak)
Had no disconnects prior.

edit: verified – it’s the one specific character mentioned above. no issues logging in on the others. (Snorvald)

Yeah, my ranger – I wonder if the other folks reporting being locked out of specific characters are all medium armor classes?

Aha… same here. I was expecting to hit 25, make some gear upgrades, but after reading that I checked and he’s sitting there at 26.

If there’s gonna be some kind of roll back to fix this I hope it doesn’t mess up his story or go too far back. his bags are loaded with karma vendor BoA tailoring patterns I was getting ready to offload for an alt.
