This, which I found in the wallpaper section, can only be one of three things: 1. Something from long ago which I missed, 2. A pretty good April Fool’s joke, or 3. The reason I start playing The Old Republic.

NCsoft account connected to gw2 account?

I’ve had a Guild Wars 2 account longer than I’ve had an NCsoft account. In fact, Ive been playing Guild Wars 2 for months and only decided to make an NCsoft account today. I just made one today to try out other NCsoft games. And I found I had different log ins for gw2 and NCsoft. Are they connected in any way or what.. I need this explained.

NCsoft Master Account and GW2 are not connected. And it gets even more confusing: You can have a Support Account for NCsoft games that is not the same as your game account and is also not the same as your NCMA.

As long as you can reach us for Support, we’re happy!

any one who linked thier GW2 account to a GW1 account has the GW2 account indirecty linked to thier NCSoft Master account.
Any changes made to the GW1 account though the NCSoft Master account effects the GW2 account also!
making the forced password change little more then a sick joke on the players effected
How about giving us a workaround to fix this instead of a false sence that our accounts are safer after the forced password account
The NCSoft Master account will change both of my GW2 account passwords
bypassing the Black Listed passwords. Even worse you can change the password without entering the old password or knowing what it is!
My GW2 accounts are no safer then the 1 email & password used for that account.
If you belive otherwise, send me a PM & we can set up a time where I can prove this to be fact

is your GW2 account licked to a GW account?
& is that GW account linked to a NCSoft Master account?
if so you can change your password from the NCSoft Master account without knowing/needing the password for the GW account linked to the GW2 account.
keep in mind that your new password will not be checked against the Blacklist
and will be limited to 8 to 13 characters.
expect this post to be locked/deleted not because your question has been answered, but because A-net doesn’t want players asking why all passwords in use for GW2 on 12 September 2011 were added to a blacklist.
locking or deleting this post will only prove they are hiding something

Achievements Bugged? [Merged]

We are aware that several of the slayer-style achievements have been affected by a recent fix that was implemented to combat an crashing issue.

We are also aware that this may have affected other achievements and if you notice any other achievements that may also be affected feel free to post below, so we can look into them

from what I can tell these were effected by the 1 point loss
Lifetime Survivor
Staff Master
plus 33 of the 39 Slayer (easyer to list the 6 not effected)
Flame Legion’s Bane still 1,000/1000
Zhaitan’s Bane still 1,000/1,000
Giant Slayer 5/10 no change
Jotun Slayer 532/1,000 no change
Ogre Slayer 701/1,000 no change
Plant Slayer 59/1,000 no change

these were comple & did not change

Active Guild Member

went from 3,7xx to 3,567 achievement points

Not that you’re looking for sympathies from me, but I am sorry to hear you have cancer. I of course have to side with Anet.

It’s always good to side with the customers, but this is not a perfect world of course. Anet is comprised of busy people with jobs to do and goals to achieve. When making a choice like this, one must consider which is the best choice. Got to weigh up time and collateral damage or risk. So, make things perfect and cause a large backlog of tasks due to the time required, or use option 2 which has what they would consider minor consequences, with faster results.

I’m not looking for or asking for anyone sympathies.
It would of only taken 1 more line of code to return the 1 point removed.
asking for what I already achieved to be returned isn’t asking too much
getting from 4999/5000 to 5000/5000 exp earned with out a death isn’t going to be so easy to reclaim, time is a factor

With what time I have left, waisting any of it is not an option
I worked hard to completed as many Achievements as possible before the cancer I have gets the best of me
Before today I had 35 of the 39 Slayer deeds completed. only these 4 left to complete
Giant Slayer
Jotum Slayer
Orge Slayer
Plant Slayer
Now I have only
Flame Legions Bane
Zhaitan’s Bane
completed
there are more achievements that were taken from me but I’ll not waist any more of my time looking for & listing them here
your fix for a data base error on your end is to rob players of thier achievements?
quess it’s too much work to add that 1 point back on the 32 slayer deeds you took away
how many players that now have 999/1000 on slayers deeds didn’t have 1 kill removed?
far less the the number that did I’m sure

Major flaw in forced password change

Why is it I can log into my master NCSoft account & bypass the blacklisted password list.
Even worse I can change my GW2 passwords from that master account without entering the password for the account!
I go to My Account page for GW2 & it asks for the old password.
It incorrectly informs me the pass word has to be at least 8 characters.
If I enter a password less then the minium (yet grater then 8), I get the same error message as if I entered a blacklisted/already in use password.
If a hacker/gold seller gets control of a Master NCSoft account?
How has the forced password change & blacklisted passwords list protected my GW2 accounts?
Locking threads doesn’t address or fix this major flaw in any way shape of form q;

In GW1 with all 4 accounts I have linked to 1 master account.
The only way to change a password on any of the 4 accounts was to use the master account. That is until GW2 came out. Now those passwords can be changed from GW2. How is that safe for my GW1 accounts?
If changing a password in GW1 effects GW2 how does that make GW2 safer?
The forced password reset doesn’t take into account any GW1 accounts. If you added alt accounts to GW2 that were linked a GW1 account. It was counted as a pasword change even though the password was never changed. why/how was this overlooked
& how does this effect password safty?
Having had multi-email accounts for games doesn’t fly ether. 2 of the 4 GW1 accounts I have. The company that hosted the email back at the start of GW1 no longer host email. if it wasn’t for the master account that only requires 1 email address. I can still edit those accounts.
A-net is well awear of that problem with the start of GW2 & the linking of GW1 accounts to GW2.
too many email accounts = too many passwords. people will tend to use the same password on multi-accounts or resort to wrighting the passwords down. How does multi-email accounts make games safer?
As I stated in my OP the web page used to change your password states “must be at least 8 characters” I used more then 8 characters every time I tried to change my password. But it turns out you get a message stating your password is already in use or on the black list if it’s too short! Those who are having problems with changing thier password are being mislead not only by the 8 character requirement, but also by a bogus error message misinforming them of the reason the password change failed!
players were booted from the game yesterday & locked out of thier accounts.
then mislead about why the forced password changed failed to change.
asking A-net to correct these problems is asking too much?

A-net forced everyone who linked a GW1 accout to thier GW2 account to use the same password as the GW1 account. So in fact A-net caused any/all problems with passwords from the start. have 2 GW accounts Both had the password chaned on the same day. Yet only one of those accounts was forced to change the password. & it was not because ether password was on any blacklist before the change.
I have stage 4 colon cancer & don’t need any extra stress period. I ask nice for A-net to fix the problem on thier end, on the password change web page!
There must of been zero thought put into this forced password change. Other wise A-net would of been awear that both passwords were changed on the exact same day & if one needed changed the other should of needed changed too.
This proves beyond any shadow of a dought that they have no clue as to what they are doing.

Please use care in tossing in threats of legal action. At the point someone does that, the team may be unable to assist you and you may be referred solely to our legal counsel… who cannot assist you with your password issue. So if you are wise, despite your obvious and understandable frustration, you will forego the threats.

If your were unable to change your password initially, that probably means you selected new passwords that were blacklisted. The 3 or 4 word combination was just a suggestion.

just maybe part of the problem is that your told on the page where you change your password that it has to be at least 8 characters. but 8 characters or even 10 characters will not work period.

Please make sure your password change utility works before you lock me out of my account. Telling me to change my password.
I’m locked out of my main account as of today. I have tried many times to change this password with the same result. No change of the password & no errors just a refresh of the password change page!
I have never missed a daily & I will be more then a little upset if I miss even one.
Unlock my account until yopur able to fix this.
there is zero need to change my password in the first place & leagal action could be pending if this isn’t corrected ASAP

What worries me, is that A-net is collecting/saving our old passwords when we change them. I for one will not give them the current password to add to a list! I question why they need this list of passwords.
if you dought that they are collecting the old passwords. just try to reuse that old password later & see what your told
I worked for the nsa for years & understand why they required password changes every 30 days. most IT people have no clue as to why that is. & are mistaken why they think it makes the password more secure. Turnover of personal is the only reason for the change every 30 days.
for those who think that random characters make for a safe password. Think again.
The hacker only has to write multi-programs starting at set points & run them from the same computer cuting the time way down. Using multi-computers runing multi-porgrams cuts the time even more.

It’s not Fireheart Rise specifically, I’m guessing. These are issues associated with the recent patch and likely are affecting players all over the world.

Fireheart Rise is extreamly unstable, crashes/drops stoped when I left the zone q:
client crashes stoped too q;

Fireheart Rise has become unstable & is crashing/droping players
taking away what little if any daily achivements one might try to earn!
until this patch I have never missed a daily
first my Thief is incapible of getting a combo ill all of a sudden, then my Engener can’t stay logged in long enough to get more then 1 kill after the daily’s reset q;

I don’t believe in-game bug reports return any type of ticket number.
I far as I can tell only my main & alt accounts have this problem. With the same guild member. Others send mail to this member with no problem. In fact it’s oyhers sending mail to this member that frees up the mail I sent.
ether this guild members account & mine will need to be cloned in an atemp to see the problem. or someone will have to work with us to see it as it happens.

This is very odd! I believe this is not an account issue, but a Bug. I was going to ask you to post in the bug forum with as detailed a report as possible, but it occurs to me that we need to know the names of the accounts involved, and I’d rather not ask you to provide other account display names. (It’s not a security issue, but it seems nicer to keep this private.)

So please contact Support by filing a ticket through the “Ask a Question” tab on that linked page. Give as many details a possible — who sent, to whom, when — and any error messages you got. You could do a walk-through, so that the QA team can try to duplicate this.

A Bug-report of this problem with account names was filed by both my guild-mate & by me before the first posting about this on this forum.
from my end, everything looks normal. From guild-mates end, mail is not recieved until a third person sends mail to them. no error messages

s stated before. Any & all mail I send to one guild-mate from ether of two accounts. Is not recieved.
It has nothing to do with the inbox being full nor does it work to delete mail thats in the inbox.
The only things that appears to clear the problem. Is for a third person to send that guild-mate mail.
This is not an exceptible way of sending crafting material to a guild-mate or anyone else for that matter.
My guild-mate & me are more then willing to work with the powers that be, to correct this problem. If they are willing to correct it!
delays in mail waiting/looking for a third person to help out are not in anyway exceptible.

strangest thing,
just after posting this, another guild mate mailed items to same person I had
the 1583 Elder Wood showed up alone with what the other player mailed.
question now is why?

Yesei, as stated above, please make sure the character you sent the mails to has room enough in the mailbox to recieve them. Maybe they have undeleted mails.

Have checked with guild mate & thier inbox “Is Not” full. 1583 Elder Wood is still unaccounted for almost 20 hours later!

well over an hour had passed, a test mail was send to that same player & to another guild member. other guild member recieved mail.
I can’t say if the mail box was full or not. I can say that they have been playing sence beta & they should be awear of the 10 mail limit.

I mailed 80 Elder Wood to a guild-mate tonight from my Main Account. Logged over to my Alt-account & mailed 750 (3 full stacks) more Edlder Wood to same Guild-mate.
Was told that they never recieved the 750 pieces. Thinking that they had recieved the 80 pieces. I figured maybe I had sent the 750 to another guild-mate who was afk. mailed a second 750 Elder Wood to the guild-mate needing it for crafting. This time insuring that it was sent to the right person. Again guild-mate said they did not recieve the mail. I swaped back to my main account & we went out collecting Elder Wood together. I tried mailing 3 more Edler Wood to this player, with the same result.
in total 1583 Elder Wood was mailed & 0 of it recieved by my guild-mate!
Each time I was told mail was sent.
where are these 1583 pieces of Elder Wood?
Both the guild-mate & me filed an in game bug report.
I have to ask…
Why didn’t the guild-mate recieve the mail?
Where are the 1583 Elder Wood now?
When will they be returned to ether the person they were mailed to, or the one mailing them?

there is 0 chance that a typo was made in the name, as from the main account. I was grouped with the guild-mate & right-clicked on thier icon in group to send the mail.
From the Alt-account, I opened the guild panel & right-click on the guild-mate’s name to send the mail.

It’s bad enough I have stage 4 cancer. All I have is time on my hands to help out guild-mates. I’m penilized for this with DR unfairly all the time. Now on top of that things I mail to crafters in my guild just disapear into thin air.
