[Raid] Deimos: "Drunkard" stuck in the air

After the recent March 28 patch, “Drunkard” – hostile copy of Saul D'Allesio appearing at 25% Deimos’ health – occassionally gets teleported in the air when phasing out of the “demon realm” after players bring him to 50%.

The part of the fight inside “demon realm” goes as normal, with Drunkard following players around on the ground, casting teleports etc. When he reaches 50% and gets teleported into normal realm together with players, instead of getting teleported onto the platforms, he ends up being displaced into the air for no apparent reason. Players get teleported onto platform’s surface as expected.

From that point on, Drunkard stays in the air, doesn’t chase players, and casts his player-teleporting ability if defiance bar isn’t broken in time. Players are obviously unable to deal proper damage to him except with ranged skills and large AOEs and to break defiance bar, leading to extra salty wipes with a lot of swearing in ArenaNet’s general direction. On one occassion we managed to bring the boss to 10% and proceed into the final demon realm phase desprite Drunkard being in the air, Drunkard properly teleported with us, appeared on the ground in demon realm and chased us as usual.

The bug has been observed on Friday the 31st of March and today, Monday the 3rd of April. It is not reliable reproducible, as it doesn’t happen all the time. Out of 5 attempts when we managed to reach 25% phase and get Drunkard to 50% health, the bug happened a total of 2 times.

P.S. If this report get attention of any raid developer, could I please get a response for the following question: “kiters” (players that stay far away from Deimos to spread red grasping-hands AOEs away from the rest of the group) can be “chosen by the Eye” as an epicenter for the green teleporting AOEs at 75%, 50% and 25% Deimos’ health; is this behavior intentional? Seeing how main tank is excluded from potential targets, it’s reasonable to think that kiter should also be excluded.

Want to share some curious info on an infinite loading screen bug I encountered. It was different from other infinite loading screens in that the ModelsTotal counter (I play with -maploadinfo) kept constantly increasing at a rate of about 5/second. ModelsLoaded counter struggled to keep up with it but never reached it. After a minute of waiting on the loading screen (I play on SSD, so I never experience loading times this, um, long) the ModelsTotal counter was around 20000 (20k, yes), ModelsLoaded, however, was lagging behind at around16k. Memory consumption was within reasonable bounds, around 2.6 GB (with about 8 GB free remaining), it didn’t seem to be getting any higher during the “loading”. Client was fully patched.

My guess is that some creatures/effects were spawning around me while I was loading, adding the same model to the loading queue, but their loading kept failing for some reason. If this is the cause, then this might also explain “out of memory” crashes some people encountered, if the models that failed to load weren’t cleaned up properly.

The infinite loading screen happened to me when teleporting down after passing through the northern entrance to Tarir while inside a yellow Enchanted Armor. The only event I participated in in that map before the bug happened was the event that starts 15 mins prior to Tarir assault in which players can gain access to yellow Enchanted Armors. That event happened near the Northwatch.
