People refusing to team up

Many people seem to say that playing with a premade requires too much work and would require a VoIP. It would also face you up against other premades. But isn’t that the point? You need to put in the work to be better.

Have you ever wondered why people soloq and then complain about their teammates when they could be playing with a premade? So have I.

Why is this? Every time I try to get a answer I just get this nonsense. I’ve been enjoying this season a lot but nothing ruins the fun more than whiny people. Can’t wait for season 3!

This is what Arena net wants lol, they designed this to make the impatient people spend tons of gold on the drinks too put gold into people who want to sell them/need golds pockets. This is what Guild Wars 2 is turning into all we can really do is accept it. If they do end up lowering it I will be honestly shocked, however that’s likely impossible. Happy Grinding everyone.

It’s not even about being impatient. You HAVE to be impatient because there is a time limit. I would be willing to work on this for long long time. I would be okay if the drinks stacked and I could continue my work for it during next years Wintersday but we just dont know at this point.

Anet is giving us no answer and that is WORSE than giving us an answer we don’t like.

We still don’t have any definitive answer? Come on. Can’t they just admit that you HAVE to grind it all right now if it really is so? I would be fine with that. I just want an answer even if its not what I hope for.

you might have to buy some. but its day 2 of the event. many people will see the drinks, not care for the achieve, sell the drinks

as many people do this, the supply of drinks will go up, the price of dem will go down, and then you will be able to easily buy the amount you are missing.

n other werds, keep playing, you’ll prob get there sooner than u think, as long as u didn’t think it was going to be yesterday

To some of us even buying them is impossible. I simply dont have the gold required to do that. I would be willing to work on the shoulders just as everyone else. I don’t care if it takes me more time than your average players but I’m still willing to do it.

What bothers me is that it might be time gated. I can only work on the shoulders RIGHT NOW which is impossible, because you know, holidays.

The amount required isn’t the problem. I’m fine with that.

Man, what happened to just getting skins from completing the event meta achievement?

This is supposed to be a happy, fun event for everyone. What fun is there in farming for presents for several hours each day of the event or spending mad amounts of gold?

It’s a Christmas event, who cares if everyone gets the kitten skin! Make the game fun, not a grind.

I tried giving the same argument in /m chat and guess what kind of responses I got.
“the items should be exclusive to only some people”
“I should be able to show off”
“its better that not everyone can get it”

Literally what the kitten.

All I want to know is that is it really time gated? I don’t have the time to grind the drinks, I would if I had, nor do I have the gold at the moment to buy them. Holidays are coming you know.

Basically, I would be willing to work for the shoulder skins but at the moment I simply can’t. I would be okay if the amount of drinks stacked to for example, next years Wintersday event. That way my work wouldn’t be wasted if I plan to start working on the shoulders.

Stronghold Temporarily Disabled

Conquest is the most boring game mode ever conceived. Yet another thing that wasn’t tested before launch, what a shocker. And now I can’t PvP for wings. I don’t care about PvP. I just want wings and to semi enjoy getting them. Thanks again, guys.

Try grinding in Silverwaste for hours. Why would you want the wings if you don’t care about PvP? The entire point of those wings is to show your PvP mastery and tell the rest of the game not just, “I’m a PvP guy!” like glorious armor or some titles do but, “I’m an excellent PvP guy!”

I personally think conquest is kinda fun.

Maybe to you the wings are something like an status symbol. I just think they look good and they are nice reward for playing pvp well. That said, I already miss Stronghold. Conquest is just boring.

So what IS the point of precursor crafting

I get your analogy and I know about how the craftable item is cheaper to craft yourself than buy as well. I don’t see the relevance.

This system is Anet’s response to players wanting to give players a more meaningful experience getting a legendary. It does that better than the old ways. Price just wasn’t a factor and I think for the more astute people, they knew it; not because Anet wants to screw people and get them to buy gems, but because it CAN’T.

Let’s be honest … did you think it was going to be different than what it is? Look at what you have to do for current Legendary or Ascended Gear. Think about it.

Ah, but in the end, it isn’t more meaningful, because you have to buy it after all. So all that work that would otherwise make it meaningful is void of purpose.

It’s not less meaningful because you have to buy something. What is this something you HAVE to buy?

I really don’t see people not buying some of the materials unless they want to wait 2+ years to get them all…

Actually, that is my plan. I’m slowly but surely working on precursor. And that is meaningful to me.

It was never meant to make legendaries cheaper anyway. Don’t know what gave everyone that impression. They’re still legendaries, meant to be a highly sought after long-term goal that’s difficult to achieve, and quite frankly they’re already common enough as it is, any cheaper and literally everyone would have one. It was simply meant to give players a “quest” to work towards their legendary rather than just mystic forging thousands of weapons and praying for the best.

And the precursors for the new legendaries aren’t going to drop at all, so even if you’d argue they’re “pointless” for old ones because its just as cheap to buy the precursor, they have a definite purpose for the new ones.

This makes NO sense. Why would someone want to spend countless hours doing a stupid, boring, checklist that will end up costing the same as the same Precursor off the TP when they could just buy it right out? The Precursor crafting was terribly executed.

Because I know I will NEVER have the amount of gold required to buy it outright. It just won’t happen. I rather work on the precursor slowly but surely one step at a time. Precursor crafting is made for me and people who think like me. Maybe it does cost more on the longrun but it doesn’t matter. At least for me.

Toxic players. When to report?

ZackCC.3965

I don’t think the community is toxic. Just some players are. And reporting is so easy that it got me wondering what I should and should not report. And that’s what you SHOULD do, right? Block, report, move on. That’s what I’m doing.

Toxic players. When to report?

in PvP

ZackCC.3965

I started messing around with sPvP again after a long time. I remember seeing some toxic players here and there and seems like they are still there. Not that often but they exist. People get called “idiots”, “pve noobs” or “you are a joke” if you can’t kill someone. I usually ignore them or half jokingly start a conversation with them. I’m not going to flame back at them though.

But when it’s okay to report? I reported one guy from Verbal Abuse but when does it count as such? Are “idiot” and “pve noob” enough? I just don’t want to abuse the report system so that’s why I’m asking.

Why do you run?

in WvW

Posted by: ZackCC.3965

ZackCC.3965

people avoid conflict in an area where PvP is supposed to occur.

Wrong. This is WvW. Point of it is to do objectives which will increase your PPT. Yes, the pvp aspect is there but it’s not the point. If a fight will not reward your server then it’s pointless.

Pick your fights. for example there is no point for 10 man group to face 30 man group. It will only do harm to your team.

Same if you know you wont win a 1v1 fight. It’s better to avoid it.

If people are so concerned with the consequences of dying in WvW they might want to try another aspect of the game….

By avoiding death you could reach another camp and flip it for more points. There is no point to die, wp and run back which would take far more time(depending of course where you are on the map).

Because it’s ruining it for those of us who enjoy fighting other players.

There is a mode for that. It’s called sPvP. You can and will have fights in wvw but it also has so many more objectives which you can do.

How do YOU play your thief?

in Thief

ZackCC.3965

People seem to play their classes in 2 ways. Either playing to be as efficient as possible or playing the way they see most fun regardless the efficiency.
I fall into the latter category. From the beginning I found D/D being the most fun because, well, you cant have too much daggers, ever. Later I found I really need a ranged weapon and chose P/P because Unload is fun skill(I always run around spamming 3 x).
I sometimes get yelled that my choice of weapons suck and some “builds” would be more efficient. But why would I play something I dont find equally fun?
I dont even know kitten about traits or gear stats. All Ascended gear I use is because I find the name of the item important( for example Gwen’s Necklace).

So how do you play?

If you dislike RNG and getting precursor so much, why you do it? There is no one forcing you to do it… People are stupid if they do stuff they dont like.
I’m also “going for legendary” but I decided it can take anywhere from 2-3 years. So I’m not getting any pressure from not getting precursor when I try my luck at mystic forge.
Playing casual ftw

Is Thief really the worst class?

in Thief

ZackCC.3965

So what if thief cant do most DPS? So what if thief cant support better than guardian?
At least the playstyle is different from others. And that playstyle is what I enjoy the most.
So its clearly the best class for me and other people who enjoy it.
Thiefs are really mobile, thiefs are imo the best “ressers” because of the shadow refuge.
And you know dagger/dagger combo looks so cool
I just dont get the hate… Dont play it if it doesnt fit you. No one says you HAVE to play all the classes.
