Guild Wars 2

I have been away for roughly 8 months and was reading about a lot changes that have happened.
I am curious if I should just start new or will I easily be able to pick up where I left off? I have a 43 warrior and a 42 ele.
I don’t pvp at all if I can help it. Not sure if that would play into it.

i’m sorry. I mean more like a ranged magic caster, I know ele can use a staff and cast from afar but I am reading it isn’t so great for solo play (Leveling)

I have a preference to caster based characters in games and have tried the elementalist but the close combat kinda tuned me off. Admittedly it has been a while and I am sure much has changed but what classes play more like mages, warlocks, priests in WoW. I am not into hunter type characters with guns and bows, definatley more magic based.

I to get back into this game but not really sure where to start. Thanks for any help.

Here’s the deal: elementalist is very fun to play as long as you don’t have a warrior, guardian, thief or ranger alts. Once you play those the elementalist becomes extremely frustrating.

This is true. I became frustrated with my ele early on, asked a few questions and ended up rolling a warrior. My warrior is ezmode in PVE (I don’t pvp) and I take him on journeys where I would never think about taking my ele.

But having said that, it isn’t nearly as fun as my ele. When I am on my warrior and see an ele killing mobs, it is like GW2 ele ballet. It is a beautiful thing to see an ele at work and I usually immediately jump on my ele. I can only hope I look as smooth and graceful when I play mine. Then I get killed 15 times die to a lack of kiting space for veteren mobs and die cause I pulled 2-3 normal mobs while kiting. When I could kill them all on my warrior.

Is it allowed? Programming macros on your keyboard? Gaming publishers tend to ban people for that, I’m not sure with GW2, was there an official statement yet about macros set in gaming keyboards?

I just got it and the lights are pretty but what can I do with the g buttons on the side? They seem like they would be cumbersome to use during combat, since they are not within a natural stretch for my fingers. But they have to be good for something within games. Just looking for some insight, thanks!

There is a segment of the MMO population that is tired of playing WoW… but still wants to play WoW. Perhaps because they don’t know how to play anything else.

is…this….hope….for…new elementalists to not be swayed away from the profession due to the amount of “work” perceived?

I just can’t get used to the whole “melee mage” thing. I been closed minded in WoW too long. I have been tinkering with about every weapon combo and attunement to find something that draws me in. So far dagger/dagger (fire) has been the most efficient way for me.

So my ele hit 17 today and I have noticed I need to do the equivalent to “Stance dancing” to be effective in pve (I imagine pvp will be a nightmare). But I really am not interested in doing the stance dance to play my class to it’s fullest potential.

Are there any straight forward classes that I maybe should consider playing? Yes I will say it before someone else does, I am looking for an easy class that merely only needs to play the skills on his bar for combos and not stance dance.
