I am a big fan of the jumping puzzles in this game. I have completed a lot of them, some of them many times. I like the jumping mechanics, and I enjoy seeing where I can get to while exploring.
So after all this time, I thought it would be a good idea to bring to AreaNet’s attention that sometimes you press space and it fails. It is unexpected, but not that rare. And it can easily lead to death.
One of my guild mates who has played the game far more than me genuinely believed that her keyboard was faulty because of this.
Although the layout of the terrain is surely to do with the bug, I am of course not talking about trying to jump off a steep surface that you are unable to stand on. The bug occurs while on terrain that you can run across regularly.
Please let me know if this is an already known problem. If not, I will look for good examples. The other day, in fact, I experienced the problem several times in a row while trying to jump from the ledge surrounded by leaves near the end of the Cantle of Sky portion of the Hidden Garden jumping puzzle in Mount Maelstrom.
While holding right click, which I do a lot, you would expect the mouse wheel to zoom in and out. Depending on where you move the mouse, it can end up zooming on the map or scrolling chat instead.
