Guild Wars 2

Hey guys,

First time posting here and pretty new to the game.

I started playing a guardian and am levelling him up comfortably running dungeons and events. I love running dungeons and have adopted a sharp love for boon support. I love spreading protection and especially regeneration to my allies while waiting to blow out the major heals, but I am a bit confused as to how healing power plays in this, as it is my understanding that healing power does NOT affect regeneration; that only the duration can be stacked, not intensity. So how does healing power then affect regeneration? My understanding is also that regeneration is one of the most powerful boons in-game, but if support players cannot affect the power of their regenerations, then what is the point of stacking healing power at all?

I apologize if this is a silly question, but I have not been able to find an answer anywhere else, and would like to make myself as efficient as possible in fractals and high end dungeons once I hit 80 : )
