I mostly just putz around in Cursed shore when I’m there. Do a bit of gathering, a few events, but mostly killing whatever mob is in my path. After an hour (and a few stops at merchants) I have a gold or two more than I had before.
Am I missing something, or are people trying to farm up enough gold to buy precursors on the AH? Shouldn’t you be doing whats fun for you rather than whats optimal?
TL abandons any server that isn’t winning. There’s the Legacy.
Cover Girl resurrects old threads and adds nothing, again.
I salvage an item for ecto’s a on average once night, NEVER more than twice in a row. If I have a bunch to salvage I spread it out. And with a Black Lion kit I get ecto’s pretty much every time with this method. I have tried in the past where I would get ecto’s the first 3 salvage attempts, then nothing for 4 others (believe DR hit).
I have not tried doing this sort of thing when there is the salvage bonus in a guilds WvW keep, I wonder if DR would hit when doing mass salvaging in that area.
As far as DR is concerned: I’ve thought that it probably has to do with the ability to buy 20s rares on the TP and convert them into 2-3 ectos over and over.
I’ve rebound a few keys myself. R=Heal, B = Utility 1 (usualy FGJ). I use my scroll button on the mouse for Elite and a side buttons on my mouse for Utility 3 (OMM) and 2 (my swap ability, Might/FM usualy).
This way I can do most abilities while still hovering around WASD + mouse.
I found it pretty funny that they bound WvW screen to the B key. How often do you really need to access it that it needs a key bind? But I guess it’s easier to reply to people when they ask how to get to the battlegrounds to hit B rather than say “hit the thing that looks like a fishbowl castle on the top left of your screen, well, not the top left, but the rightish top left of your screen.”
On one hand you’re doing damage, though maybe not optimal damage vs no damage at all?
While you’re doing damage without a target the game still allows you to target someone (‘Tab’ for next target, ‘C’ for closest) so you can get proper chains. AN was nice enough to have the default keybinds on a single hand, tho I guess it does cause a bit of twister to go on.
Create the habit of mashing the 1 button and facing where people are, the auto attack system has a much smaller angle than what you’re capable of hitting with. The side benefit is that you can chose to hit more targets this way. The negative is that unless you have a target selected you will not be able to use your burst or number 3.
You can dodge while damaging multiple things….. can’t do that while auto-attacking.
I think the simple solution to the population imbalance would be to multiply the score by the average number of players on all three sides within the individual Battlegrounds.
That way if any of the individual battlegrounds has all three sides population capped they would generate the equivalent points of a “prime time” match (within that one map), while at the same time the empty or nearly empty one’s would not generate as many.
This wouldn’t solve the other issue of upgraded keeps are harder to assault problem, but I’ve had more fun on grand assaults than on easy so for me it’s a fairly mute point.
