HoT Price Feedback + Base game included [merged]

To me this is very simple to fix.
Leave the pricing as it is, and when installed to an existing account, add 800 gems.
That way new players can get on, and veterans that don’t have a spare slot can use the gems for it, those that do have a spare slot can buy something else from the gemstore or just turn it into gold for whatever.
Obviously the DELUXE and Ultimate editions would need to be increased pro rata.
Judging on the huge backlash this is not just going to go away and Anet/NC should speak up soon to quell the tide of discontent that could cost them alot more players.
I am sure that a move like this would be very favorably seen by most.
Yes, there are going to be some who are never happy, but I would guess the majority would be happy enough.
I have to agree with the OP.
I started playing GW2 because of the total freedom it gave, and also the way in which the developers had pretty much eliminated 90% of the things many people dislike about online mmo rpgs.
But with each and every recent update, they take away another thing that made this game great.
It started with the destruction of the personal story and is spreading like wildfire through the whole game. Pretty soon there will be nothing left.
Both me and my wife have collectively spent several hundred £ on stuff from the gemstore, but we both feel a little betrayed, and are unlikely to spend much more if the rot continues to spread.
Very sad times approaching.
Is there any intention of definitively answering the question on whether the massive chunks removed, and the jumbling up of other portions of the personal story is a bug -that will be fixed- or it is intentional and will remain. (I have characters part way through the story and need to know whether to hold off completing or not)
The way these changes have been made seem to me to be a way of fast-tracking the personal story to get people to level 80 and endgame dungeons as fast as possible.
To me, the richness of the lore and the world created in Guild Wars 2 has always been what sets it apart from many of the other games out there, and for all this to be removed is a big disappointment.
I would like to be able to play this game for far more than just accumulating gold to build a Legendary.
