Lets talk Quickness

I second the idea of Quickness being a 33% boost. Futhermore, if they do that, they can increase the duration of the skill so that you can get some more use out of it.

More importantly, make it a BOON like all the others, so you can have it proc on more things like traits, skills, and have it buffed or removed. I think more boons are good, no reason to get rid of it — right now it just is too powerful.

The idea behind the 25 Bleed limit in PvE?

An alternative is that there should be a secondary effect or condition that occurs when you reach/sustain the cap on a target. For example if you apply a stack of bleeding and the target already has 25 stacks, the stack is removed, and the target is dealt a flat % health damage.

Perhaps they make an upgrade DOT called hemorrage that is a much larger scale that gains stacks of duration as 25 stacks of bleed are reached.

Is there some kind of office party going on at Anet where youre all drunk and stuff? Looks like drunk-level of communication to me.

Not that I dislike it, but its just so unusual.

I’ll take it where I can get it.

I’d be for traps to have a set and arm function – particularly for shadow trap and needle trap, that way you have more control when you need them.

I still hold that CnD should be a riposte type skill, with a block and stealth, or give back initative.

I think Blinding Powder should actually make a smoke field.

I feel like Devourer Venom is the true elite, so move it there, get rid of basalisk venom. Then throw in a new venom in, perhaps one that deals blindness, confusion, or bleeding.

Thieves need to speak up - stop the uncalled for nerfs!

I think for a cloak and dagger fix, what would be a great fix would be to make the stealth conditional – make the skill a parry defense like riposte

Cloak & Dagger – 6 Initative – (2 sec cast time), Block the next attack, and retreat into stealth / (activate again) to instead gain 4 initiative

This does a couple of things – it allows for stealth more often on the thief, and rewards good opponents for watching skill animations (if you don’t attack the thief), then they don’t get stealth, and the advantages of them.

Portal Counter? Anyone got one?

Rather than complain about how skill is OP, I figured I’d first ask if/how anyone has any counters to this skill; specifically if you don’t have a portal on your team as well?

Just in case anyone hasn’t realized this yet, but if you queue for a tournament with a pre-made party with all peoples of your guild – the message alerts that you are Team [Guild] instead of your team [party leader].

I imagine that when they finally create a ranking system, it will be divided into players and teams/guilds (since that’s really the only difference there is)

My personal opinion: Heartseeker is broken

So, talked with a friend, and I feel we have come up with some design changes that not only eliminate this problem, but also add value and complexity to the thief overall – here goes:

First, heartseeker – to fix/and made more interesting, separate the leap from the damage portion – this helps reduce the ‘cheese’ as the thief now needs to stick to their target better. Secondly, add a small cast time to the attack – .5-.75 sec (blunderbuss time), and animation to the attack; finally convert perhaps a small portion of the full damage into stacks of bleeding (again, similar to blunderbuss).

What you have now is a slow, powerful ability that does good burst damage, but also allows for condition damage; and more importantly, requires more awareness and skill to use effectively, and is punished more by simplistic, spamming tactices.

Secondly, take the leap portion, and add to backstab, perhaps increase the range to 600, to give the thief more mobility – as a stealth skill, it cannot be spammed constantly.

P.S. – reduce damage on Pistolwhip, make evade like ninetailed strike, just sayin’
