What the dev said was definitely the case. Before patch I remarked to several guild mates “Oh man I found a crazy bug…” and went on to describe exactly what he details. If you waited for your stealth timer to read “0 s” on the buff and THEN used your stealth skill you wouldn’t get revealed, since stealth “naturally” dropped.
After patch you can’t do this. Unfortunately there were code bugs both ways (using stealth skills when stealth expired? Re-applying revealed debuff when not in stealth? Logic checks people!).
Yeah…my last couple days of sPvP matches have been bursting with thieves.
Seriously great skill. I tried it out after seeing this thread and I’m hooked for sPvP. It’s also good in WvW for small skirmishes, you just poof and they have no idea where you went. It’s hilarious to watch people bombard the area you last were with AoEs while you sit back, laugh, and plot their demise recover.
The thing with forums is that very few people post on them to say things like, “This game is awesome!” “Man I love my class!” most of those people are busy playing the game and having fun. Thus the overall negativity of forums.
Not sure I agree with the OP here. You can equip one of each category and guarantee that one will recharge (as long as it’s on cooldown).
Heal: Signet of Malice
Utilities: Trap, Deception, Trick
Elite: Basilisk Venom
Yes, you’re shoehorned into bookending SoM and Basilisk Venom but it still has potential I believe. Allowing two categories to be recharged would be OP – if/when this skill procs and you have multiple utilities of the same type on cooldown it’s already pretty good (but I admit I’m no sPvP thief pro – and that’s probably where this would matter most, I assume).
While we’re on that topic, has casting Basilisk Venom always de-stealthed you? I haven’t used it much – all other venoms don’t de-stealth you on use.
