You may be right. However, Most people I have spoken to on that topic say that BLkits are too expensive to be worth it. I’m also pretty sceptical of the tooltips after reading inquisitive_myth’s blog.
http://inquisitive-myths.blogspot.se/2012/10/gw2-salvaging-scraps-which-kit-to-use.html
Some of the Key Points for those who prefer to read:
‘chance of rare’ means chance for higher tier for salvage scraps etc. For example, gossamer instead of silk from salvage rags. The % increase in chance is actually a percentage increase on a base percentage chance. This effectively means that the gains for the more expensive packs are far less then you would think.
Crude Kits – fine for the early levels but there are a few % points difference from testing by InquisitiveMyth. Stack size is the killer.
Basic Kits – are the everyman kit. Use for whites and salvage scraps for the rest of the game.
Black lion for getting upgrades back.
Mystic for lvl 70+ rares.
Wood is not worth salvaging.
Metals are borderline.
Wools etc are usually well worth it.
Thanks to redditor Marko_Oktabyr and Inquisitive_Myth for some of the data.
If I missed anything please let me know, I try to be as thorough as possible but I sometimes miss things or make
And you know what? That isn’t quite the whole picture, so I’m going to clarify a bit. (Yes, I’m necro-posting, but y’all will forgive, right? )
Technically, it’s against the current Guild Wars 2 Content Terms of Use for people to make money through such things as monetizing a Guild Wars 2 video. However, we support people sharing their experiences with our game. (Heck, we <3 people doing that!) So while we want to do the right thing and accurately relay what the CToU says — because that’s often the question — we do not take action when fan sites support themselves via ads, and we don’t take action when the creators of fan videos place ads. In other words, we do not flag such videos.Basically: You can do whatever with the videos, we don’t care.
Hopefully they back that up by telling YouTube to stop flagging content. They are nice words and thats the approach they should have but it’s meaningless if they are still having YT flag our content.
They have started to flag videos so you can’t earn money on them , So people that are making a living out of posting youtube videos won’t get any food on their tables .
People who make quality videos are just fine. It’s people who just record game content without adding anything to it that they’re really cracking down on.
Also, I’d prefer if GW2 didn’t become an e-sport, thanks.
Even quality commentaries and guides are being pinged by this though. This is going against even Fair Use.
“You can post GW2 videos to youtube, you just can’t make money off of them. I highly doubt youtube is going to force you to accept money from them lol. It sucks, but you are safe to post vids on youtube so don’t worry.”
This will discourage most serious YouTubers who make content as a profession however. What are you left with? Let’s plays and kill monatges.
All of the good content comes from sources that monetizes their content.
I made a video of my performance!

Indeed, Guild Wars 2 isn’t recognizing my USB audio device as an option. (I use an iMic to connect analogue headphones).
@Wanderer I didn’t know that. Thanks. I had noticed that in a few spots silver was spawning next to iron but not that it replaced it.
Curious as to whether there are any australian guilds myself and wondering what server they play on.
Been weapon smithing lately and found a pretty good run for tiny scales, tiny claws & blood. Also get some loot bags and eggs on the side.
Map: Queensdale
Run: Start at Beggars Burrow and head to the pier at Beetletun. Loop back.
Mobs and Drops:
>Tiny scales drop off Barracuda, gulper fish, and drakes
>Tiny claws drop off drakes
>Eggs drop off drakes and brackish scale
>Blood drops off skale
Notes: Go underwater, bonuses are usually much higher there because people prefer not to swim. More mature mobs = better loot. Try to avoid hitting things that just spawned.
