What absolutely amazes me is that a game with ‘guild’ in its title has so few tools for guilds to communicate with their members. All there is, apart from the normal guild chat, is a mail system that temporarily bans you if you try to use it!

Agreed, even if I had to send a message to all guild members, I’d have to do it one at a time, getting blocked every 2 mail

that’s declared as spam and I would report you if you send me a mail every 2-4 hours a day. look at the ToS I think 3rd party programs are not allowed but I might be wrong. Make a website, forum or calendar for your guild, have your members sign up and announce the events there. Much easier to gather your guild members and gives em a platform to communicate when they are unable to log into the game itself.

Oh no no no, don’t get me wrong. I’d be sending it in Guild Chat rather than mail. I tend to do it anyway, but without a third party program. The program would just make my job easier. It’s a relatively small guild of 130-something. I do play Guild wars from time to time, but if I had a second account running this on my laptop just to make my job easier, it’d be great. It’d also mean not having to stop what I’m doing at the time and I’d probably check with my guild to make sure it’s alright with the majority of them.

As a guild leader, I am curious as to whether I can have a friend create a program to run at automated times, open guild wars (have auto-log in), log into a character, type an automated message to remind guildies of when guild events are, then close the game. Does anyone know if this would go against the rules or not? (obviously I wouldn’t spam it, maybe once every 2 or 3 hours on the day that the event is on, and every 5 hours on days that it’s not.) Interestingly I’ve seen lots of SAO members running around in Sea of Sorrows. I took notice of the guild tag because I’m an avid fan of SAO myself.

We’re a Desolation guild only. Sorry ^^

Not sure if this is a bug, but I don’t have the option to change the guild’s build queue. (e.g. I can’t move a guild bounty up 1 so that it’d be done before +10% magic find banner). I thought this was the norm until a friend who’s the leader of another guild told me that it’s not, and that I’m meant to have arrows next to the option to delete the item from the queue. Could this be because my guild has 4 leaders all at the same, top rank? Thanks for your help in advance, if requested, I can take screenshots.

Thank you for all the responses, and I like the idea of that cyberqat, however, what do you do if two guilds you’re in share a guild tag? And wouldn’t the option to display all tags sort of spam your name if you’re in over 5 guilds? Just some food for thought.

And Robinsiebler, sorry about that, I only noticed one that seemed to have died 3 days ago, so I thought I might as well make a new one based on my ideas instead.

IDEA: The ability to view multiple guild chats at once, allowing response and visability to the chat of other guilds you’re not currently representing

How I would go by doing it: You would give the guilds you’re in numbers (For example Guild1 and Guild2, possibly through a drop down list when you enter the guild tab) and then have the choice of which guild chats you view with a simple tick box option. This would allow you to stop viewing a guild chat of one guild if you think talking to them would be unnecessary and just fill your chat box. To have the ability to talk in the different guild chats, you could use the commands /g2 or /guild2 to talk to the second guild. Set the first guild you join automatically as /g1 or /g0 and make /g lead to the original as well.

How I’d think it would look:
Typing: [Guild1]:TEXT HERE

Chat Box: [ GUILD TAG HERE ] NAME HERE: TEXT HERE

Optional implementations:
-Possibly to include a /gall or /guildall to send the message to all the guilds you currently have chat enabled with.
-The ability to make separate chat boxes that show certain guild chats that you choose
-Customisable colours per guild chat to easily differentiate them without reading the tag or if 2 share a tag.
