… sumtin’ sumtin’ Auld Lang Syne sumtin’ sumtin’ Kumbaya… Hey! Hey-ey!… sumtin’…
What’s the meaning of “liking” something anyway? It’s not pleasurable like reading a good book is pleasurable. The emotions the player experiences are not happiness like happiness of watching a good comedy. The challenges are not challenging like chess is challenging. Being in a party is not any kind of sociality. What remains, thus, is some kind of lizard brain that says I must follow through the suggestions the game constantly feeds me and I feel rewarded because the game says I’ve been rewarded.
Is that you, Ivan?
Not my issue, I’m just pointing out that Stability alone isn’t enough. You’ll need stealth, stun breakers, and/or condi cleanses (extra annoying when they slap bleed on top of the immob, so you have to cleanse twice or have a cleanse that removes multiple conditions) depending on what kind of mobs you’re running through.
.. and that is my point, thank you
It is not that I don’t know how to play the game or not strong enough to fight the mobs, as others suggest; it is the annoyance factor of certain mechanics, and to have a dungeon that is basically all stun/knockback all the time is, well, annoying to say the least

Stability? http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Stability
“Stability is a boon that protects against control effects, including those that would otherwise interrupt, prevent movement and dodging, and disable use of most skills. Unlike a stun breaker, it does not remove effects that are already in place, although many skills granting stability will also remove stuns. Stability stacks in duration up to 3 times.”
WOW!!!! I have never heard of this “stability” thing you mention. I bet it has no cooldown timer?
I don’t think it matters what game it is… at one point, anyone who’s played any MMO with any level of consistency will reach “end game”, and wants new content. I think what really keeps players grinding away after that, is things like the people they play with (which could have the opposite effect, obviously), the familiarity to the game, the aversion to starting from scratch in a different game…
As to GW2 being “the best MMO ever”, well, obviously such a statement is very subjective.
Personally, there are a number of things I really like about GW2, such as the elaborate world boss fights like Tequatl or the Triple Double, the scaling dynamic events, the crafting (the non-competitive resource farming, the crafting GUI, although not so much the grind for mats and the RNG on dyes), great animations and art style (within its theme), being able to purchase items in the cash shop with in-game currency, the way character creation affects the first stages of your personal story, the so-called living world, the size of the world…
But there are things that detract from the game, after having different experiences in other games, such as being stuck with a class, the limited number of builds, the hodgepodge theme of the game (medieval high fantasy steampunk?), the lack of in-game animosity amongst guilds (after all, the game is called Guild Wars, not Guild Pow Wow, no?), the lore…
Anyway, if OP feels GW2 is the best MMO ever, great, that’s the only opinion OP needs to care about, and good for OP that OP can enjoy the game the way OP does.

I recently tried the Halloween dungeon and I have to say, I am a bit disappointed at the lack of stuns and knockbacks from the mobs. It’s a shame, really. It is so frustrating to be able to actually fight mobs.. I am sure I speak for everyone when I say that there is nothing more rewarding play-wise than being frozen in place, not being able to move, or even better, knocked down, on one’s back, not being able to do anything at all.
So please, more stuns, more knockbacks… also, would it be possible to move the Lich to the end of a jumping puzzle?
Why would you add a money sink to something that is permanent?
May as well just buy the in-game tools with gold, and save my real cash.
I’d prefer that all characters would get their own tools once bought, with no need to do anything further.
Hello.
Just started playing this game. I chose to play a thief because as I understand it, it is the only class that can dual wield weapons. However, the animations that play when my toon fights, only one hand/arm seems to be used in combat. The off hand is just doing nothing but holding the weapon.
So, my question is, is this normal? Am I going to go through the game holding a weapon on each hand but not be able to use one of them?
Thanks
