Allow me to jump on this bandwagon with the following:

Zerg will always win every online game out there. If one side has 50 ~ 100 more people than yours, you will lose. There’s no such a thing as a tactic to “overcome numbers” In online gaming. Simple as that.

With that said, OP….

That’s the silliest thing I have ever read. Tactics should always win over the zerg. In Eve online it works all of the time. In GW2, the game is explicitly designed so that the zerg wins no matter the tactics. Individual and group skill means nothing in GW2. It does it plenty of other games.

Downed state does not belong in PVP at all, for all the reasons the OP has listed.

I hate the entire mechanic with a passion to the point where I hope GW2 fails badly so that no other game will ever attempt to mimic this cheesy, annoying mechanic again.

Quoted for truth! I think something like a downed state has never been implemented before in a game because they realized it is just an awful idea. People think that just because something is different in GW2, means its “good”. Sorry people, doing things different for the sake of being different and not because its better and you end up with garbage mechanics like the “downed state”.

EVERYTHING designed and implemented in GW2 PvP only promotes zero-skill zerging and nothing else.

From the ridiculously stupid downed mechanic to having zero death penalty and everything in between, it is no wonder WvW is in such a horrendous state.

Basically shows this game is flawed at a basic level. I wonder if they will fix the hundreds of glaring flaws like this with the game before there is anyone left to play it…

The player culling is getting so incredibly bad, that now once all the enemies disappear, they stay disappeared. Even my allies disappear and running away from the battle and back in doesn’t fix it. You have to log off and then back into the queue.

This is epic fail.

I guess, games you mentioned doesn’t have half-non-target system, siege weapons, lots of mobs and NPC and that quality of tons of visual effects?

You gotta be kidding me. EvE’s PvP information blows GW2’s out of the water. And it handles ten times the players with ease.

166 slots per faction? Are you kidding me? No wonder why queue times are egregious and most of the maps are empty. 500 per WvW map is pretty small potatoes.

I forgot to add, it’s really brilliant that you guys designed the WvW queue to instantly reset if the server kicks you or the client crashes. Nothing like spending 2 hours in a queue only to be pushed to the back because the server disconnects you from too much stress.

How hard would it be to keep your spot in WvW for a couple of minutes to prevent this? Does no one think of these simple things?

ROFL, people complaining about armor types now? So GW2 got rid of classes and roles and everyone is the same, a self healing DPS class. Now you want to get rid of armor?

Why not make a MMORPG where everyone is identical, a white moving rectangle and you get a single button to press. At this rate, that is where we are headed. It’s funny how games are devolving… Maybe in ten years we will be back to pong.
