Agreed. Pretty sure it was more along the lines of: ‘We are happy with the game’s reception despite this thread, we’ll talk about this (as in, future tense) with no more or less urgency than any of the other feedback we’ve gotten so far, and 3 days in is too soon to tell you anything one way or another.’
Which is, imho, not the post he should’ve made. Side-stepping issues that are clearly issues just makes people more frustrated.
That said, I do believe they will make a change. The question is, will it be enough of a change that makes us happy, and will we still be playing by the time they do?
Interesting fact: a profession’s base health has absolutely nothing to do with what armor they wear.

pic is from pve, but I done the same kitten in wvw as well. warrior went down in like 3 secs in 1v1.

and lol for posting a pic where you fighting in a zerg with probable food/utility buffs, banners, stacks of might and who knows what else. Post some numbers that can be achieved in solo play and all boons are sourced from yourself only. You can’t always have a zerg around…
Usually I see this done for CoF P1. I’ve had guys swap and be gone almost the entire fight and I never even noticed. Yeah it’d be polite if they made the group aware they are going to swap, but seriously if you can’t beat the last boss on P1 with only 4 players, then the guy who swapped out must’ve been carrying the rest of you. So I find the people who have a problem with this either (A) want a speedrun and are bothered by the loss of DPS or (B) need to l2p.
dang. regular 3k-5k hits and those 7.8k bursts. i think those guys you murdered would have to agree, it would definitely feel like getting 1-shotted.
personally i’d keep this to myself. otherwise you might find nerfs incoming.
oh for the sake of Pete. I just found it. You guys are right, the trait it’s buried in is so freakin useless my eyes kept skipping right over it. Couldn’t see the forest thru the trees lol.
it IS? dangit i read thru all the traits like FIVE times cuz I thought “don’t post about it being missing until you’re sure it’s gone or you’ll look like a kitten ”. Lol kitten Mode activated.

So all Deception skills were seriously nerfed, and no one has said a thing. Am I the only one who thinks taking away the trait to reduce CD on deception skills was completely irrational?
Ok Girbilcannon.8259, there are several flaws with your logic and assumptions:
Flaw #1 “ricochet pretty much made it so we could survive in a crowd of mobs by simply standing still and unloading, giving us high damage on everything and healing ourselves out the wazoo. Frankly, I think that it made us all a little bit lazy.”
Maybe that worked in PvE, but in PvP you would die in seconds playing like that. I never saw any p/p thief stand still in a crowd and unload unless they were about to die and panicked. I would agree that any thief who just stands still does need to l2p. So if you were playing lazy, congrats on l2p.
Flaw #2 “With an increased initiative bonus, we also hardly had to steal and only use it as a last resort.”
Again you are definitely a PvE player, and you are referencing your own particular play style. Stealing is an integral part of being a thief, esp is it quite useful in PvP and WvW. Actually PvE too… I’m wondering why in the world were you NOT using it?! And when coupled with the trait that granted stealth when stealing, it was just downright awesome. There are tons of thieves who live off of Stealing. (Get it? Live off stea- ah nevermind)
Flaw #3 “As a long time p/p thief, I recall NEVER weapon swapping, or at least not that much.”
Again, that was your playstyle. Mine? I weapon-swapped with d/d all the time for Heartseeker, DeathBlossom (I’m condi thief, this skill would do TONS of damage), and Cloak and Dagger . I saw tons of other p/p thieves who swapped regularly too.
And even if we never weapon-swap – so what? A person should be able to play how they want. That’s kinda Anet’s tagline for this game (they forgot tho).
Flaw #4 “For the most part, it feels like they are just trying to get us to move around more.”
How do you figure that “moving around more” is the same thing as “being able to hit more than one target at a time”? No matter how much you move around, there is no pistol skill that will hit more than one target now. In a group fight it is pretty much as useless kitten is, prolly even more. (Sorry but imho SB skill #5 is about the only skill worth using, and that’s just for mobility).
Flaw #5 “We get a nice decreased CD”
Same logic as above: How does a decreased CD on steal give you DPS on multiple targets? Oh, it doesn’t? Yeah so still gonna need that Ricochet back.
Flaw #6 “You will only become a more skilled player and your groups will be more accepting of your contribution”
Uh, no. If your team in PvP sees you trying to p/p now, you are now more likely to get hated for being able to contribute very little, and in effect, handicapping the team. Same goes with dungeon groups, in fact you’ll probably get flamed worse in a dungeon group.
So the complaint about Ricochet equalling the death of P/P stands. Anet really blew it on this one.
BRING RICOCHET BACK!!
I am so glad there is a thread on this with plenty of other people saying this ruins the game for them. Like, this game is epic in 3D, it’s very hard to go back to 2D. And right now it is unplayable in 3D, even with shadows turned off there’s still static terrain shadows that render in front of everything and make it look terrible.
Please fix this aNet. PLEASE!
