What exactly counts as "Obstructed"?

i usually cast my auto attack first if I have any doubt about LOS. unfortunately, it draws attention to my attack and many times they back up and I still fail to cast. Then it resets the timer. That part sucks….

finished my monthly about a week ago, before the update. Any chance we can get retroactive laurels for this month?

seige weapons

I was thinking more along the lines of a crafting profession itself that caters to the wvw crowd. Perhaps create a second tier of seige weapons that have a slightly faster firing rate, range or a AOE. trade-offs perhaps, it will shoot slightly farther, but does less damage for example.

Sw supply camp needs a fix

They can stand further back on the hill and wait for you to leave also. It is right next to their spawn. If you want to keep that supply camp so bad, then keep people there and defend.

I don’t understand why you are complaining about people standing there waiting for you to leave. You have the camp and they don’t who is wasting more time by standing around?

How is this different from someone standing on the backside of a mountain watching a supply camp waiting for people to leave the supervisor buff to run out? They are still going to cap once you leave, unless you choose to defend continuously.

5v20+ is a bold move for sure I always thought the advantage of having a keep is that you are somewhat protected while defending. This doesn’t seem the case with GW2 as I have to stand on the very edge of a wall to get off a shot.

I do like the arrow cart inside the front gate as i have never seen that one. Your view must be pretty obstructed to fire? That would cover the same area as a cata just inside the gate firing at rams?

thanks for the reply maloki. i am aware of placing arrow carts on the inside corner of the walls. Those tend to last longer, although your ability to shoot from that position is hindered a bit.

Catapult inside the front door is also helpful for rams.

I’m not sure the answer, or if most feel those two items are the solution. I just have a hard time standing on the wall feeling the sense that there is nothing I can do to drive off attackers.

perhaps put cannons that are not attackable, but have greatly reduced rate of fire, or require cannon balls from dolyacks…

I definately dont want to see stalemates or slowing the gameplay greatly, I just feel pretty helpless in those situations.

I have often wondered about the design of the towers from the defenders point of view. I think there should be some means to combat a larger attacking force by a smaller defending force. Often, if I am able to get past 20+ attackers at the front door, I climb the walls only to unable to affect the attack.

In order to hit any attacker, I must jump on the walls edge and hang over to get line of sight. This immediately draws AOE or a pull down. No issue with this penalty, anyone that is fully exposed, should get attacked.

My question is why do I need to jump over the lip to be able to attack? The lip is only 6" high and shouldn’t prevent my attacks.

Also, any seige placed on the walls is usually subject to AOE and gets destroyed pretty quickly or is unmannable.

I understand they want towers to change hands to keep the game pacing, but it seems that 5 or 6 in a tower should be able to hold off 3x their number with proper defenses for some period of time to allow reinforcements.

I almost am at the point where if I see a zerg of 20+ outside a main gate, why bother to go in and defend if there are only a handful of us…

Constructive thoughts on this?

as a level 80 mesmer, I say Iberserker is fine. It should hit w/o line of sight.

If you insist on removing this ability, then you should also consider all the other skills that work w/o LOS. I’m specifically talking about every skill that can hit the top of a keep wall from down below with an AOE. I know I sit on the keep wall and get pummeled by all kinds of skills that are not line of sight.

Nerf one, nerf them all. Take your pick.

azure,

Yes, they were firing seige and yes, they were LOS. I pulled two guys from the “puzzle jump griefing guild” of eredon terrace yesterday into the pit with a mesmer focus skill. I targeted them when they peeked, then pulled them when they were not visible to me. One came down and we beat his …, then I pulled the other when my cool down cleared.

I’m not advocating what they were doing, I’m only offering a solution that was lucky enough to work in our case. You can either use it, or keep trying to complain in this thread and hope the devs change the rules of that map. your choice.

Azure, if you had read my post earlier, you would have seen a skill that works. Mesmer focus number 4 pulls enemies off keep walls and I personally used it to pull two guys into the pit from up top of this exact area yesterday. It is doable, but you need the right class and weapon set. We would have been screwed without it, but a lot of pvp is that way…

Three of us did this puzzle this afternoon. Same story , eredon guys at top of pit dropping arrows and dumping cages. I was able to pull them both over the edge with my focus. Messier skill. Funny thing was there guild name was “jumping puzzle griefing guild”.

We beat there kittens once they were in the pit with us. But it shouldnt take a special skill or class to be able to defeat that. Seems like a poor form of entertainment, but I guess different people like to do different things for fun…

Thank you!

Thank you for an excellent game !!

I agree with the posters that talk about the game systems, graphics, story line, pvp, etc. It has been a blast and will continue to be. My brother and daughter play and we three just keep enjoying this game

Thanks again for the hard work and the fun you’ve brought us.
