Purchased a new rig; i7 6700, gtx 1070 8MB, and it’ll be upgraded to 32gb RAM once it arrives. I also purchased (2) 27" monitors but am currently only using 1 as the other was DOA.
Now, my graphics don’t seem as smooth. There’s a lot of edges, almost as if there’s an issue with anti-aliasing – checking the Nvidia control panel, they’re exactly as they should be. I’m currently running highest settings possible at a resolution of 1920×1080.
This may be a case of me adjusting to the new set up but I’m wondering if I need a smaller (23" or 24") monitor.
Here’s some screenshots for example. Let me know if I’m being too particular!:
Beginning last night around 5-6pm est, I began experiencing frequent disconnects with the server with an error that reads (you guessed it) “The game client lost its connection with the server”. It tells me to wait a few minutes and try again, but I’m able to hop back in immediately.
I know it is not my internet, nor is it my computer. It is definitely related to the stability of the game and it is extremely frustrating. I am located on Tarnished Coast and was experiencing the disconnects in Gendarran Fields and Divinity’s Reach. When I temporarily guested to Anvil’s Rock to see if that would cure the problem, it helped tremendously though in the end I still experienced a disconnect.
When I say frequent, I do mean every few minutes. I’m lucky to make it past 10 minutes without a disconnect. What gives, Anet? Can’t we get an answer?
I ended up taking it in to a repair shop because even with my knowledge I couldn’t figure ot out. Temps run fine per MSI, no danger of overheating. Ranprime95 for 12hrs without issue. When I dropped it off the firs thing he did was check my psu with a meter and it read fine. I was told to come pick it up as it was rtg and didn’t give the tech any trouble running GW2.
I was told to test it. As soon as I did, it crashed. So we began testing the memory sticks and slots, and we still had crashing problems. On a whim, we tested out another gpu (Radeon 7750 I think) and it didn’t crash after fiddling with it quite a bit. So we are thinking we have the problem solved but I’m still apprehensive that it’s not the gpu and that was a fluke.
Anyway. I planned for a completely new gaming rig next spring and don’t want to invest a ton of money into it to replace the gpu. I need something that can handle GW2 and that is budget friendly. I’m thinking about the xfx ati radeon 6770 1gb to tie me over until my major upgrade. Thoughts?
Also, I’m no dummy. My psu is a 650w.
Anyone else have this issue and have a fix? It worked for a couple log in attempts after deleting .dat file and running -repair command line. Now I’m right back to crashing.
This began out of NOWHERE yesterday after having already been on the game. I ran the launcher, hit play and it ALMOST loads character selection before my computer just… turns off.
I did some maintenance, made sure I had stable drivers, keep the tower cool. I ran -repair tagline and also deleted local .dat on different occassions. The first time aftering deleting the .dat file it ran for maybe 10 minutes. I went right back to crashing (comp turning off, without warning). Attempted the same thing again, and it still crashes despite deleting the .dat file.
I cleaned out the case, heatsink, GPU, CPU, PSU fans with compressed air. I am seriously at my wit’s end with what’s going on. Please help me.
