Anyway, that’s a shame. I enjoyed fighting VLK. Did most of the members merge into other guilds, or did the guild transfer off?
VLK disbanded. Most of the members are still on HoD either in new guilds or merged into existing ones.

Over the weekend HoD and NSP swapped second place a couple of times. Now CD and NSP have swapped lead. I have to say this is one awesome matchup.
Oops, accidentally said something honest and forgot to troll. CD and NSP smell like charr armpits. There, reputation restored.

MU does stink. It’s from sweating so much. Picking up all the bags you guys leave lying around is hard work.

Multiple colors/shapes, wider “/supplyinfo”, and a guild-only visibility option would already be a huge improvement to tags. Perhaps better than guild-only would be some kind of squad only visibility where entrance into the squad requires approval, so that players from multiple guilds can create ad-hoc havoc squads. But with 5 guilds to play with, we can probably make guild-only visibility work.
Lieutenants and such would be nice, but players could probably hack together a reasonable approximation of that kind of system with just multiple colors/shaped tags, and I wouldn’t want to hold up basic things like tag coloring to get something complicated.
The only other smallish thing I would plead for is account wide tags. Character bound tags are, like character bound wxp, a system that makes it hard for a player to have variety.

Night Capping. Nuff Said.
How is that “’nuff said”? Why is DH better at night capping this time around than they were last time the two fought? Was there a recent oceanic transfer?

Is anybody else surprised by the DH/SF matchup this week? Some points
1) SF beat DH in their first match http://mos.millenium.org/servers/view/45/115
2) HoD beat DH in their first match by about 65k http://mos.millenium.org/servers/view/28/119
3) HoD beat SF in their first match by only about 50k (and subjectively it really was our toughest fight) http://mos.millenium.org/servers/view/28/121
I was expecting SF to beat DH. But as of right now DH has a healthy lead. What’s going on? Is DH just hungrier?

This is the matchup of the week. It’s the only fight where two tied teams are vying for placed positions. Wish I could be there. While VLK might be rooting for DH, this MU is rooting for SF because COSA kept our first SF matchup so tight. SF, don’t let whatever is happening internally with COSA steal your second place away from you!

I want to address the comments that HoD doesn’t belong in bronze.
The first point I want to make is that the very concept of “belonging” to a league is artificial. ANet divided the servers up into arbitrary groups of 6/9/9 based on rank. Somebody is going to be number one in each league but who that is doesn’t mean anything since if they had done 12/12, 9/9/6, 9/6/9, or 6/6/6/6 then things would be radically different.
The second point I want to make is that the bottom silver server is Northern Silver Peaks. The last time HoD faced NSP was in week 31 and HoD was roflstomped. In fact, for the most part every bronze server that went up against NSP has been roflstomped for some time. If HoD had somehow snuck past NSP into silver then the same complaints about a server not “belonging” in bronze would still be made, they would just be aimed at NSP.
My third point is that the during league week 5, Sorrows Furnace lost to HoD by only 50k points. If HoD doesn’t belong in bronze then neither does SF because we’re pretty closely matched. (In league week 6 SF got crushed by over 140k but that’s not representative of the strength of the two servers because SF decided to take it easy that week).
Finally, in non-league weeks 35 through 41 HoD was ranked 18 and that was after slowly clawing its way up from rank 21. In the week immediately prior to the season HoD went up in rank to 17. Given the way Glicko ranking works it’s unlikely HoD could have done anything to jump higher than that.
I know WvW has serious population and coverage imbalances. Outside of this league stuff every server that isn’t Blackgate or Vizunah experiences it. There’s nothing anybody can do about that. All you can do is have good fights and keep improving yourself, your guild, and your server.
Here’s a big “/salute” to every FC and GoM that comes out and does their best in this tough fight. I’ll see you on the field.

And this morning, [Dx] carried you guys to gain almost 20k thus rendering the 10k completely useless. Such is life on SF. Same ol’ same ol’.
There’s not much you can do about coverage other than recruiting so don’t dwell too much on total score. Instead, after every fight and every match-up ask if you and your group gave the best fight they could, if you were in the best place you could be, and if you learned anything to make the next one better. If the answer is yes to all then you’re already doing better than almost everybody else no matter what the points say.

I want to give a shout out to CoSA.
Going into this week I knew that the new PvE update would pull a lot of people out of WvW but I figured it would hit all the servers about equally. I could not have been more wrong. SF’s CoSA went into the last two nights looking for blood and found it. HoD’s core WvW guilds were left scrambling around like the proverbial dutch boy plugging holes with his fingers. We won some fights and lost some, but at no point did we get to relax.
Last night HoD’s lead shrank by 10k points. That’s one hell of an achievement!
So to CoSA for your sheer determination and great fights I give you a “/salute.”
Keep bringing the pain and I hope to see you back on the field again tonight!
