If DB wasn’t playing for 2nd I think they could actually challenge FA. That would make the match interesting.
thank you, that was very helpful.
NSP is putting up a good fight, but EB is once again proving good leadership > zerg
howdy… what’s the stat priority for SB rangers, mainly WvW?
This is my best guess: condition damage > precision > vit > tough??
Thanks!
do thieves do more damage than a ranger with a SB?
is shortbow the way to go for WvW… I see alot of people using it, but it doesn’t seem to pack the punch of longbow.
Thanks!
Bam, you’re down. Invis AoE. Someone invisible finishes you.
Weird, right? You had full health just a second ago, and that thief was only visible for about a second before he could use his magi-poof AoE, giving you no time to use your downed-state interrupt.
This is what I’m talking about. I’m sure there are useful tactics to try and counter this, but at the end of the day there just isn’t much you can do when you are killed and stomped and the only time you actually see the person is as they are finishing the stomp. And oh BTW, he is able to do it to the 2 other people with you as well.
I tend to agree with Deer, apparently I’m lacking the skill to kill a player I can’t see, that can kill-stomp me in the span of a few seconds
. It wouldn’t be so ridiculous if it was one-on-one, but I’ve seen this among a group of 2-3 players, and the thief is stealth “most of the time” and able to kill-stomp each player. This has to be a bug, or some kind of exploit.
I’ve had several encounters with thieves lately (WvW) where they are not visible for 90% of the fight, and able to kill -stomp someone before we even see them. Seems amiss, but maybe that’s working as intended.
are supposed to be able to perma-stealth, kill and stomp multiple people, and you never see them?
still doesn’t match the awesomeness of my snow leopard
There are several different paths to gearing up at L80:
1) Crafted – If you’ve gone the crafting route, you can make your own armor/jewelry what have you. If not, you can purchase exotic crafted items off of the BLTC.
2) Dungeon tokens – Run bunches of explorer modes and farm tokens which you can trade in for exotic armor.
3) Karma (exotic vendors) – farm Karma and trade it in for exotic armor.
4) Drops – Kill a bunch of stuff (least reliable but has the upside of aiding in #5 below)
5) Black Lion (money) – Make money and buy what you want off of the BLTC. Probably the easiest way to gear up.
6) Exploration – Grind all of the zones and hope the exotics that drop off the quest rewards are useful to you (not exactly reliable).
7) PvP – Grind PvP honor and/or badges.
Basically gearing up is very easy in GW2 and very flexible to play style preference. The only real grinds are for certain looks (why most people do dungeons) and/or legendaries.
For PvP I highly recommend both Toughness and Vitality in stats. Past those, whatever your build and play style is geared towards is fine.
Hope that helped
Thanks, very helpful… I was thinking of spec’ing vitality and toughness, gearing power and precision (berserkers) and using vitality/toughness gems for a balanced approach, does that seem reasonable?
Howdy, I’m about to turn 80 and was looking for tips on gearing up. Which exotic set, what sigils/runes? I tend to WvW alot and like to play offensive GS/Hammer.
Thanks!
What do you guys think about WvW? PvE and sPvP, the guardian seems to nudge out the warrior. I spend alot of time in WvW and it seems like the mobility, versatility, and ranged options favor the warrior?
Thanks for the input.
All this theory crafting is nice, but there is really no way to counter an 8k steal, 8k cloak and dagger, 9k backstab which all happens in a very short amount of time. Not to mention trick-shot consistently hitting for 2.5k and 6-7k cluster bombs. Thieves are pretty ridiculous right now in WvW and they will be nerfed.
I guess my question is this… is there a HUGE gap in WvW between 80’s and non-80’s? I don’t have an 80 yet, so I have nothing to compare it to. But I am getting killed very fast ( and I mean very ) in WvW. Thieves are hitting me with CD, backstab, heartseeker for almost all my health, that is an almost instant combo. Engineers actually take 3-5 seconds to kill me
me running toward engineer…
2.5 k hipshot
2.5k hipshot
2.5k hipshot
6k jump shot
8k jump shot
hmm… reassess my playstyle, I guess just run away instead of toward.
or how about this one… run toward thief…
9k cloak and dagger
8k backstab
6k heartseeker…
still reassesing.
I’m a level 50 warrior and in WvW I’m getting blown up by thieves and engineers literally before I can get a shot in.
