Guild Wars 2

I see people talking about the Druid’s damage output a lot, but I thought a Druid was meant to be a healer.

I literally came back to the game and bought the xpack this week just b/c the game finally had an actual healer.

You can use staff, but you can also use any normal thief weapon. It would suck very badly if you could only use a single weapon when you take an elite spec.

Gotcha. I just thought you really only got skills for the new weapon.

I guess b/c I mainly came back to play Druid and as a healer and there is literally no way to play a Druid healer without the staff lol.

I did not really look at the other classes this one just caught my attention for an alt as well.

Just seems like if you picked Daredevil and did not take the staff you would barely get anything over a normal thief to me.

The best but site says in store only and will not let you buy it online even though they don’t actually carry the card.

@Throfin Thank you for the warm welcome. I could see some form of heals becoming mandatory from all of the changes I have read, but I do not see that as a bad thing.

For every party you should be able to find 1 person who likes to heal. There are still more dps slots than support.

In PvP it would turn into a protect or our healer while killing theirs scenario.

I know I am biased, because healing is my playstyle, but it really does add another level of strategy to fights. Also, you can always tell the good healers from the bad ones.

It just sucks that they originally alienated any entire playerbase by not making healing a real thing.

I have always played healers in several MMOs. I was a beta tester and early adopter for the original Guild Wars and bought every campaign pack and the expansion. I worked my butt off to unlock as many Hall of Monument things as I could for GWs and then when I got into GW2 Beta I saw that the playstyle I had played in their previous game was just gone. It kinda sucked.

I know there are those that do not want to have to play this style and like the game being all DPS, but don’t forget there are other players wanting to heal. Plus side you get longer fights now in PvP

I will say this.

I played this game in beta and at launch for a bit and then left.

I saw the info on the Druid on Reddit when it popped up and not only did it make me reinstall the game and come back, but also convinced me to buy the xpack and a gem card.

The reason why I left is simply b/c I play healers. I tried Guardian as a healer and I had some fun, but it was hard to get a group and everyone just ran zerker gear and zerged things. No fun for me at all.

I am glad to finally have a chance to fully heal in the game. You could heal in the original GW and that is what I did. I am a MMO healer. It is a playstyle that I like and I am glad they are adding it.

You can have heals with out spank and tank trinity. If anything it will just add another layer of skill to the games playstyle and to builds. People will actually have to think about balancing stats instead of just going dmg and crit.

I was given Best Buy gift cards for my bday to purchase this game.

Apparently Best Buy is not selling the Digital Download until the game is released.

I saw that you can buy the pre-order from the Black Lion in game store, but it does not take gems only cash.

Is there not a way to pre-order the game from Best Buy.

I do not see an obvious way, but I was hoping I am missing something. I already checked to see if they sold Amazon Gift Cards and they do not.

What runes are you guys running ?

I was just curious what sets you guys tend to get for stats.

I just hit 80 and I am running a tanky/heal build where I am using Cleric Armor/Jewelry with Knight weapons. I am also running soldier runes.

I try to just get beat on in the dungeons for my team while splashing heals out.

I love having the high power toughness and healing.

I am not seeing any dungeon sets with these stats unless I am blind.

Am I missing a set or do people just not get the dungeons sets.

Is my only option to buy Exotic cleric armor and then run the dungeons for the sets just for looks if I am wanting this kind of build?

I guess I could get the AC set which is power tough vit and then get cleric exotic weapons, but I will still be missing a lot of healing.

I was just wanting everyone’s 2 cents on running a build like this and dungeon gear.

I was always told that Conditions could not crit.

Was I misinformed?

I only ask, because of the emphasis on precision in these stat builds.
