+1 to nerfing it. You might even persuade me to buy it, despite it seeming to attract people who think it is acceptable to chant “l2p” at every opportunity.
The difficulty level and forced grouping is the reason I have not bought hot. The vibes from this forum about hot are overwhelmingly negative and it mainly seems to attract the type of player i avoid.
I’d really like to glide, but there are currently no other reasons to buy the expansion. Maybe if they nerf it a bit then normal players will be able to enjoy it.
Raid Leader: Guys, this raid boss is Rock. We gonna need to bring Paper. Food check! Let go.
After 30 mins of wiping
Raid Leader: Okay, this is not working. Everyone pinged weapon and chest piece so I can make sure we all have Paper.
Casual 1: [Scissors Weapon][Scissors Armor]
Raid Leader: Hey Casual 1, you are bring scissor. Do you have Paper armors/weapons or a Paper set up.
Casual 1: Well, this is how I want to play my class.
Raid Leader: It is fine if this is how you want to play your class. But we need Paper. So we gonna kick you for a actual Paper set up.Casual 1 got kicked. Raid Leader went to LFG for a Paper set up and then proceeded to kill raid boss in 1-2 tries.
Meanwhile, Casual 1 logged on his GuildWars 2 forums and complained how toxic the raiding community is. To him, raid community is a bunch of elitist jerks, that does not appreciate his marvelous build.
I think you have the second leader quote wrong. It is “wtf” and instakick. No explanation, or chance to correct it. Welcome to raids, where someone does not explain what they want then kicks you the instant you diverge from their version of “perfection”.
Some of the pro-raiders in this thread are demonstrating exactly the bad attitude that i’ve seen in so many other games.
There will be no refunds or court cases or grand consumer rights action. You can argue all you like.
1) there was no EULA present at the time of the establishment of the initial contract regarding GW2 between myself and Anet.
There has always been a user agreement and you agree to be bound by it with your very first login. You also agree that that it can change and, if you are in Germany, you even get your own special version of it. Your argument to the contrary is naive and ridiculous.
No. Completing more difficult content will always be more impressive
Who are you impressing?. Do you have, like, a fan base or an audience or something? Because I play this game for me.
If you’re arguing against those who hold that anet was wrong to choose to not deliver what they advertised, then you’re arguing in favor of anet not delivering what they advertise. You are, in essence, arguing in favor of anet not delivering what YOU pay for someday.
Why would you do that?
Some people are arguing in favour of anet doing something else instead of legendaries. That does not make those people wrong.
Anet has made no offer to make up for it. They have not even apologized. If you seek to get your money back for this product they take away anything youve ever bought from them without compensation. They take punitive action against players seeking a refund to discourage them from doing so.
When you signed up for the game you agreed that anet can do anything they like.
I can tell that some of you have never tried to get Trading Standards to do anything for you and any lawyer consultation would end with “so they did not give any timescale for delivering these items and they have suspended them rather than cancelled them?”
There is a difference between being afraid to raid and just not wanting to raid. Raids attract the saltiest and least tolerant players in any game.
I don’t. I think it is funny for 5 minutes and then dead content. I just don’t understand why everyone raves about it. It’s a bad parody on a different game genre and I don’t think the devs should spend any more time on it at all. It should have stayed dead and buried imo.
So, please don’t try to speak for everyone.
To be fair, while I agree it is wrong to speak for everyone, you yourself just said that everyone raves about it, but you still don’t think the devs should spend any more time on it. So while you aren’t speaking for everyone, you do seem to be asking the devs to cater specifically to your needs at the expense of everyone else.
I’ll concede the “everyone” thing. It’s a good point well made, although you have continued the bad habit!
My problem with SAB is that is a jokey mini-game that is in danger of outgrowing its remit. We’ve got calls for more levels, permanent access, more gem shop items. We’ve got people who want to spend all of their time playing it instead of the main game – the game they bought. SAB is not GW2. It started as a joke but it’s in danger of pulling dev resources away from the real game. and we know how short of resources they are. If you step back and strip away the hype, SAB is shallow and quite rubbish. This is, of course, just my opinion. Maybe everyone else but me feels differently, in which case I’m in the wrong game.
I was planning to buy it but it just sounds too different from the normal game. It’s like they decided to incorporate everything I don’t like in one expansion: difficult content, confusing maps, forced grouping, raids, inflexible timers. That is simply not GW2 in my book.
n I keep reading that this is what the players asked for but I certainly didn’t. Where is the logic in giving a bunch of existing happy players a completely different game to play?
Having said that, I would really like to be able to glide but I don’t want it $40 worth.
Everybody loves it

I’m also fine with the decision. I have some sympathy for the legendary collectors but I don’t really believe anyone bought the game just for the legendaries.
In a perfect world anet would have infinite resources and be able to do everything but if they have to choose then I think that concentrating on content that benefits the majority of players is the best decision. Roll on the 19th.
