Tiered reward is a good idea also. But it is still not implemented in the game. Will it be?

And to laboriously get back on topic before I clock out of this, the few questions for others:

- If they decided to add something similar to the Elite Areas in GW1, what’s the threshold for “properly rewarding”? I think the answer on whether “just” skins and gold is okay has just been established in the last few exchanges I made (it is). Where can it be set where it’s rewarding enough, but not enough where it unbalances things in favor of those who farm it for the gain?

- Similarly, where would the challenge reside? Given that in GW1 if you wiped, you didn’t get to hit the nearest Waypoint, would something like that be accepted in GW2 as a means of increasing the difficulty? On a more technical level: should it be challenging like, say, Liadri where there is a plentiful chance to beat it but not everyone will be able to do it?

To answer your question,

New features and reward for a new elite area

1. New Armor that is craftable with materials (and tokens) that are looted in the area (this armor must be an high end armor)
2. New weapons that can only be looted from either the end chest or all elite boss found in the elite area
3. For the completion of the dungeon, receive a certain amount of gold and token
4. The token looted in the dungeon can be used towards elite recipes, elite tonics, ascended material, obsidian shard, new buff (only usable in that area) etc
5. The token can also be used for a unique backpack

Difficulty and Challenge

1. Hard as was DoA for Gw1

Yeah I understand your point. And I indeed shifted to other games, but I still have strong feeling for a game I played way to much before which was the first Guildwars.

It is a good thing that they shifted toward permanent content for what concern the living story.

I strongly understand that it takes time to implement new content that is of decent quality. But I think that it is hard for the people to wait and hope that content will eventually come.

It was not that bad for me since I completely stopped the game and did other things. But for an MMO which should be a game that you are able to play constantly and not feel bored to quickly, I can understand the issue some player have. When you play everyday and you see more gemstore addition than content toward the game it can be quite difficult to digest for some.

ARWEN is an IRL friend. But you are talking to bhcbose. I do side towards ARWEN opinion most of the time but not all the time.

Arwen would not even dare ask for an equilibrium and that I can guarantee you..

Just to let you know, I stopped playing the game a long time ago. I have no level 80 characters because sadly, I felt that this game would not be promising as much as I thought. I guess I was partly right. I have been reading almost all of Arwen posts and I came to the conclusion that one of the big problem this community have reagarding content is that there is to much emphasis on the gemstore and not enough on actual content. You can conclude why I wrote this post.

Now to put you back in context, since the time I stopped playing and now, the only additions I saw to the game were the following:
*Ascended Weapons
*Ascended Armor
*Edge of the Mist
*Wardrobe
*Some polishing of the game
*New traits and stuff that came with the april 15th patch

And what I saw from the Gemstore would probably be to much for me to list here. You see my point I guess.

As of lately I have been playing Starcraft and Diablo. (Especially diablo is changing for the best)

A better equilibrium between the addition of content in the game and in the gem store.

Yeah, frankly its been very uninspiring and a pretty big let down. Considering the ANet behind GW1 delivered so much epicness, with such little employees, it boggles the mind how GW2 fails to deliver.
[…]
Personally it feels like ANet used to be made up of awesome guys and girls who were passionate about their job and the game they made, but with GW2 it just feels soulless post launch.

You’ve really got to wonder what happened to the anet of GW1, maybe its the other 2 founders leaving, maybe its Eric Flannum being marginalised…..

I am actually curious as where they went.

One thing I know is that one of the current devs (lead) Colin Johanson was the one who was working on the bonus mission pack in Gw1.

As for the dissapointment, I have to agree that when something gets hyped so much if it does not deliver what it was promising then it feels like a massive letdown..

Honestly I think that if Anet will one day implement new zones that are strictly level 80 they should really think about bringing the challenge and the rewards that comes with it.

As for high level dungeon, right now I can hope to see one day new dungeons and more fractal levels with new rewards

But then it comes down to the following:

Should I take more than hours to write down the ideal end game and reward that comes with it with the hope that a Dev reads it and acknowledges it?

STOP over-propagandizing “scarlet’s war”….please honestly. did anybody feel this “devastating war”?…..it went unnoticed to me….completely. please stop spreading this all over the place as if it was a big deal, i mean really, all your fans think season 1 was jsut average content and here you are “ohhhhhh looook let me make 3-5 posts about this”. ok season 1 was was a start to something better (WE HOPE)….but its nothing to brag about or announce repetitively. you did a whatever job, so move on and do better.

Um, ive been playing this game for a year since today. and it might just be a game, but i almost cried when saw lions arch destroyed and some of my favorite npcs dead or gone. Lol to say that it was devasting means you either dont play much or you are new. not saying you are bad or anything, its just that most people who play mmos invest alot of time in them and get attached to some of these things. All those times goofin’ round’ with guildies in LA and just doin stuff you do in LA, they gonna be missed.

Are you over sensitive lol?

I just don’t get why people would be mad if content would be added to the game.

Would casuals be mad if the content added was to hard? Maybe

It has been a while I played Gw2 for personal reasons.

I just wanted to know if anything that was suggested by players ever made it into the actual game.

Thank you for your answers

I played these game you stated because I am also old enough. But lets not compare these games to MMO.

If you truly played real mmo before you would clearly understand why there is currently an issue in Gw2 regarding reward vs difficulty.

Most of the people that player Gw1 can say that there was an endgame in Gw1 that was not cash shop related.

@Tobias

You have been given many definitions of rewarding. Then please feel free to give us your definition of rewarding since it seems like none of all the things written here satisfies you.

Errant was pretty accurate with his definition of reward vs difficulty.

The question A R W E N asked was where is the high level rewarding end game content. And everything you stated is not rewarding.

Farming does not exist in this game.

No one is asking to be forced into one single instance like most MMO.

A R W E N simply wants something new that is hard and rewarding.

I have to agree with A R W E N.

I played less than 300 hours and got bored just so quickly that I decided to move to another game.
