Digital Deluxe: I feel like an idiot

@Vorch, and others who think I’m complaining about the bonuses;

No, I’m not complaining about them. I’m complaining about the upgrade package being attainable with in-game currency – thus making me feel stupid that I’ve paid extra 20 while trying to support ANet. That’s what I’m complaining about. ANet is basically screwing me for that.

Also, surely there will be / are people that bought gems, then bought the DDE upgrade. But nearly all of those who got that upgrade exchanged in-game currency with gems, not paid money to get those gems.

There has to be a line; while the idea (gold:gem exchange) is fantastic, ANet is shooting their own foot by doing so; punishing those paid money to get stuff aswell as discouraging them from future gem purchases, and ruining their own economy; by allowing everything to be attainable with in-game currency. While I would like to support the idea, after being screwed, I cannot.

EDIT: To everyone, that thinks that I’m complaining about the bonuses, I’m not complaining about them. My complaints are based on something entirely different, so please don’t reply before reading the whole thing, or get the main idea of my complaint. Thank you.

I’ve bought the Digital Deluxe edition (NOT via Black Lion/Gemstore), since I enjoyed every second on GW1, I thought I could spend the extra cash and grab the DDE for GW2 from the start. But then, I saw this upgrade on the gemstore (Black Lion thing); for 2000 gems, you can receive the difference / upgrade your game to Digital Deluxe aswell.

Not only that Digital Deluxe bonuses are just “joke” (5 day on Golem Banker? Really?), which made me feel like an “half-idiot”, seeing that people can buy the DDE with GOLD, I now feel like a complete idiot with a “kick me” sticker on his back. I feel like I was ripped off; cheated.

Your idea to allow people get gems with in-game currency is cool, but you still have to draw a line in my opinion. I don’t know if anyone feels like me, but as I’ve said, I feel like I was ripped off, cheated. I was trying to help you, but in return, you put a “kick me” sticker on my back.

Here is some stuff which may make me smile & enjoy the game again (extra bonuses only to those grabbed DDE not from gemstore);
-Unlimited Golem Banker (woohoo! nah it won’t happen. but why?)
-OST Download
-Gems?

EDIT: My 2nd post below;

The CoF Buff: My opinions

By no means it is impossible to do. The changes are done on the “Magmacyte” part, and the “kiting” part.

The NPC acts a bit different at “Magmacyte” part now. He tries to attack the mobs around, he dies (often), he glitches out, etc… I’d be fine if he was following us, and not attacking anything (as before), but changes were done to other stuff; for example, maybe he starts walking and you have to extinguish the flames or he’ll scream “fire” and go back to beginning as he steps on the fire. Aside from this and that idea, most probably this is a new bug (hopefully).

And the kiting part… Since the spawn rate is high, there is no point in trying to kill them. No LvL75 party with average gear could do that, not even mostly exotic geared parties. They increased the length by 2-3 times, and same spawn rate remains. If they slowed the enemy spawn rate to allow people DPS and kill the enemies as they spawn would’ve been a better choice. Or something else. But this just forces chain-suiciding, which further discourages people from doing CoF #2 runs. And with the reward nerf, you’ll be in debt soon due to repair costs, gaining nearly nothing from that said dungeon (aside from tokens).

So. First victory of the day, at CoF… I get 13s. Not even close to the repair bill I’ve paid for that chain-suicide mission… Seriously? Please note that, this is the first run of the day, I get 15 tokens at the end but just 13 silver. What if I ran this place twice or thrice? It goes down further?

And about CoF… I mean, yeah, CoF needed a tweak. Magmacyte part could’ve been tweaked. Could’ve been something that is fun to do – couple monsters here and there, but the main part could’ve been extinguishing the flames before they harm the NPC, if he steps on fire, he goes all the way back, screaming “fire” maybe… Not something that drags too long, not something that’s done in seconds.

And/or the kite part. Well, since the spawn rate of monsters are too high, trying to kill them is pointless. With the increased length of the event, they could’ve slowed the spawn rate down, so that instead of kiting (now, chain-suicide that is), players could’ve been “encouraged” to kill them before enemies overwhelm them.

But no. What they did is, as far as I can tell, made the event 2x-3x longer, and kept the same spawn rate. I’m not so sure about the amount of the enemies that get spawned though – it might be the same as before. But this forces something now. Now you need “tankier” proffessions so that you can successfully kite these… As their spawn rate is same, there’s still no point in trying to DPS them down.

Sigh Not to mention how boring these dungeons are, or the missing excitement of opening chests / getting special loots, these “overnight tweaks” are too much. Fine, nerf the silver & experience we get. But stop there. You are creating a huge gap in the community. Those ran CoF before the buff & after the buff is a simple example.
