CDI- Character Progression- Vertical

I’m just going to agree with a lot of what has been said so far, and add that cosmetic changes have been implemented incredibly slowly compared to GW1. Some patch in the near future instead of adding better gear should just add lots of different looking gear. A good deal of the armor sets in the game I don’t like very much.

I loved the new female armors, I have a female human thief and she’s been wearing tier 3 cultural which, while I like it, is way too skimpy for my taste. This armor is the perfect balance. I keep seeing people say “chain mail bikini” in talking about the heavy phalanx female……but…………but……….but do you people even know what a bikini is? Besides showing off a little leg there is nothing bikini-ish about this armor.

It seems to me you are saying the only way you can ever have fun playing a game is if your character “progresses” but you are missing a lot of different types and definitions of “progression”. GW2 wants to keep everyone on a pretty much equal playing field, so it makes absolutely no since to have better gear and all that. Instead, progression is mostly visual and you can chase after any set you want regardless of if its the best. I think the problem is that you are defining progression to rigidly. Then comes in that its how we’ve all been taught to play mmo’s that once you hit level cap, you keep pushing up that gearscore or whatever, but not every game in existence has to play like that for it to feel fun or have progression. In GW2, a game so much about skill, a lot of the character “progression” comes from you getting better and better with your class.

This game needs PvP Arena

I think it would be fun, and all the people who think arenas would suck, how would they take away from your enjoyment of the spvp? They wouldn’t be a requirement. If you don’t like arenas don’t play them, but don’t say they shouldn’t be in the game just because of some weird selfish desire you have to not play arenas.

The people doing this are the ones missing out, the point of spvp is to actually pvp, which is very fun.

I was upset about this at first, but it has kind of worn off a tad considering I like killing my friends in pvp. I still think there should be an option for group play, and that tournaments just aren’t enough. Arenas would be fun, and that sounds like a pretty easy system to implement.

I’ve seen anet post in various threads though that they’re going to make a blog post on a lot of things they’re changing in spvp soon, so keep an eye out for that, it is still early.

I don’t like how score is given out, it encourages bad gameplay. People just run around madly trying to get in on all the caps, they also stop attacking alive people to hit downed people a few times just to get the 15 or so points from it. This is supposed to be a very strategic pvp setting (hince spvp) so I think the way score is given out should be totally reworked.

Game is dying, so what are you doing to fix the only content you have?

Carlin, I think there are a lot of balancing issues with the spvp in this game, but its not like WoW was perfect a month into release or any MMO ever. They will continue to support and balance the game, just like blizz has done. It has taken blizz years to get pvp to where it is now.

This is not to say I agree with anything you have said, because my opinion is that the balancing issues are moderate but not game-breaking. Anyone who QQ’s like you have in this thread over an MMO that hasn’t been out for a month yet is just a troll. I know you will lash out because I said that, but that is exactly what you are being. Chill out, and lets have some intelligent discussion without being so confrontational, and then maybe this thread can address real issues without being a giant waste of time.

This game does indeed have balancing issues, we’ll see what anet is worth when they start addressing class balancing because right now it is completely out of whack.

Downed State.

I hate the downed state. I think it adds nothing to the game, especially in the pvp. Seriously, milo, it seems like there is some strategy to downed states but how does that give them any validity? Exactly what do you think they add to the pvp?

The worst part of them is when you take someone down in a big fight, only to have them hit you a few times from downed state and put you down, then they rally off something and stomp you after you totally out skilled and out classed them just a second ago. Its like the downed state is just for trolling. It SUCKS.

Do you think events should increase in difficulty?

in Dynamic Events

broken.5871

I have failed events. Not that I disagree with what any of you are saying but event fails do happen, more often than it seems like you guys are giving credit for. I run into new places all the time where it is on the chain because of a fail, but usually this only happens really late at night when there is no one doing the events.

As I said though, I still agree that the difficulty of DE’s is way to easy. When I am by myself in an event (which has happened quite often) I still generally win them. So it seems to me as long as there are people actually doing it it will get completed just about every time, meaningits waaaay to easy. Generally its just auto-attack win.
