It might not be too easy to put in, but what is the advantage except to those who want an uncluttered log in screen? And what will ANet do about the people who inevitably accidently delete a level 500 crafting?
You know people will do that.
Well, since right now the current system allows you to switch to different crafting types without losing your progress, presumably you’d be able to restart any missing crafting disciplines without loss in the same way.
Basically, all I want is an additional “switching crafting disciplines” option where I switch to nothing instead of another discipline.
“I’d like to get rid of them to keep my login screen accurate, but I can’t find any way to abandon a crafting discipline without learning another one.”
I don’t want to learn a different one. That’s not what I’m asking for.
So, now that the crafting disciplines known by each character are visible on the login screen (and thank you for that, that’s awesome!), I’d like to be able to unlearn some of the crafting disciplines. I have all of the disciplines at at least 400 across my characters, but I also have a bunch of characters with abandoned disciplines that I have no intention of continuing to train up.
I’d like to get rid of them to keep my login screen accurate, but I can’t find any way to abandon a crafting discipline without learning another one. Is there a way to do this? If not, Anet, would it be possible to add one please?
People AFK for both the free breach and because simply being close to one of the defense events gets you crests for it.
Mostly my problem is when a map is getting full and there are people who want in to actually PLAY but they can’t because slots are being taken up by those who are trying to ‘cheat’ their way into a bunch of bandit crests.
But I think mtpelion is probably right – the best way to deal with it is to take away the reward. Being present shouldn’t be enough to get the event reward.
I’ve noticed a recent trend of people suggesting on map chat that players report anyone who goes AFK in the Silverwastes. I get it – it’s frustrating trying to protect the keeps when you have a map full of people who are going AFK, but I don’t think abusing the report system is the right way to handle it.
However! The AFK thing is kind of a problem – the map is hard to do unless everyone is working on something, and it’s not fair to allow people to take advantage of other peoples’ time.
Thus my suggestion is this: give the Silverwastes the same time-to-kick as WvW has. You can’t stand around AFK that long in WvW without getting kicked to the character screen, and for good reason. I might suggest that the same kick-time be added to maps like the Silverwastes, where there is the possibility of people taking advantage of others by simply leaving their computer running the game.
Yeah, rangers already have a bad enough rap in dungeons without making it practically impossible to meaningfully control our pets….
I came here just to talk about this. I’m so disappointed in these changes! The stuff that was cut was so good! The Temple of Abbadon, the story about cutting off ‘food’ to the Mouth of Zhaitan, the whole plot arc about approaching Cursed Shore from land, sea or air… And of course, Tonn, Apatia and Syska.
Honestly, I hope they fix it. I’d like to see a personal stories unlocked at 65 (tonn/apatia/syska), 70 (stories from the straits of devastation), 75 (stories from malchor’s leap) and 80 (stories from cursed shore). I could definitely understand reducing the amount of XP awarded per story as a result, but it would most definitely be worth it, IMO.
I know there are a lot of complaints about the personal story for writing and stuff, but it has it’s great moments too. And they’ve cut out just about all of those great moments past Claw Island
Obviously not a gamebreaking thing, but I thought I’d point it out.

The NPC Alil Rodez, to whom you are supposed to give dwarven artifacts gathered from Molent Summit, is stuck on the opposite shore of the frozen lake from where she is supposed to be, preventing the event from completing – you can’t give her the artifacts.
I’ve been finding that, especially during events or dungeons where enemy bodies pile up a lot, it’s difficult to tell which bodies have loot and which do not (and, perhaps more importantly, which bodies I have left to loot). For now, I’m stuck running around, blindly pressing F in hopes that I pick everything up because the little sparkles that indicate a lootable body aren’t noticeable enough and often get hidden under other objects/bigger bodies.
Generally, I just want something done to make them easier to see. My specific suggestion would be to have lootable bodies have their nameplates show up when you press Ctrl (the “show enemy name” button) the way mat nodes (ores, trees, etc) do.
