Jumping puzzle are awesome, and they should be more rewarding, and I have a solution how to prevent JP account parking.
SOLUTION:
- create npc/object that you talk to at beginning ( as a check point)
- player get 1 token for talking
- player can hold only one token
- chest requires token to open it
- once you open chest you lose token
OPTIONAL: disabling mesmer portals while holding token
REWARDS:
should give decent amount of gold / T5/6 material /
This is simple solution to prevent parking accounts with almost zero effort to fix and make jumping puzzles even more enjoyable and rewarding again. I also think Jumping Puzzles should have some key parts of crafting materials that would drop with fair rate to make them attractive.
NOTE: there will be many people talking how JPs should be only for fun, but that’s theirs opinion, and this is my opinion. As dungeons, world bosses and other things have decent reward, Jumping puzzles should be no exception. If someone enjoys them as much as me and i would love to have some decent profit out of it. I’m a sPvP/GvG/WvW person like, but other things that i enjoy in PvE are Jumping puzzles.
Hey, is there any reason why raids wouldn’t just scale to your size? So like… 5-20 man, bring what you can, and it scales.

Proposal Overview
Guild Commander Tag
Goal of Proposal
Allow leaders of successful PvE and WvW guilds to differentiate themselves on the map, allow members to quickly recognize and join allies in activities, and create a more visible sense of community within guilds.
Proposal Functionality
Unlocked from upper tiers of EITHER Art of War or Politics upgrades via Influence, Guild Commendations, AND Badges of Honor or Karma, respectively. Authorized members will have a mini Guild Emblem selectable as their commander tag.
Details:
- Only be visible to guild members.
- Cap on number of tags per members online and per zone to prevent abuse.
Associated Risks
- Inconsistency in visibility from other commander tags – Will require time for players to adjust.
- Improper balance of unlocking cost may undermine cost of default commander tags.

Proposal Overview
Guild Event Calendar
Goal of Proposal
create a fast and easy way to schedule guild events without having to send out mail or whispers to your guild.
Proposal Functionality
Under the guild window there would be a calendar tab with a plan blank calendar
- ability to add events
- date and time info along with ingame waypoint or poi
- ability to have the event span across more than one day
- ability to have events repeat like when make up guild missions take place ect.
- rank options for who can add, remove, edit and view
- option to be able to be mailed a summary (per player so if a player wants to opt out of it they can)
- option to turn on anet events ( things like feature patch updates or pvp/wvw tournament starts)
Associated Risks
- spam
- inappropriate language or events added
- conflicting events with other guilds (note that every guild would have there own and other guilds would not be able to see them unless you were a member of that guild)
No one is forcing anyone to buy anything.
Only people complaining here are the people that want to play the game for free. Regardless of seeing or playing the content.
Hell, people “buying” the game now already pay 50% LESS for the game itself.
Not to mention the free episode they would probably get from just logging in that very day and the next.
I don’t know who is more greedy here, the players, or ArenaNet.
If they were to release the content as an expansion pack for 45 dollar or € then you wouldn’t see anyone complain.
Ultimately, it’s in your hand if you want to buy “the crappy content”. How is that bad? You can basically select what you want to pay for.
Ingame Name: Guardian Erik
If someone buys the game after the end of living story 2, they’d have to pay to unlock living story 2.
Wouldn’t be any different than said person buying the game after an expansion came out. They’d still have to buy the expansion…
If someone told me I’d have to pay to unlock content that was free previously and every one else has permanent access simply because they owned the game at the time and logged in, and because I didn’t own the game at the time and couldn’t log in i have to pay (and there’s no real reason it can’t be equally free for me), I’d simply walk away.
I can only sort of see this argument. However, games do all sorts of promotional things like this all the time. “Log in during such and such time and get free ‘x’” Don’t log in, you don’t get it, but you can still buy it later. The free storage panel in GW1 is something that comes to mind.
Alternatively, they’d have to grind gold to play the story-line, which is also a bad idea when you already have to gear up characters cause you’re a noob. I’d imagine casual players who went on vacation or something wouldn’t be happy either.
Actually as a casual player that will be going on vacation at the end of July it doesn’t bother me at all. We’re talking 2.50$ usd per chapter that I miss. Now if it were 10$ per chapter, yeah then I’d have an issue…
While it’s a far nicer offering than forcing existing players to pay for an expansion, it’s not a healthy business decision for attracting new players to the game.
So now we’re not willing to pay for expansions? Granted we don’t know what LS2 will contain, but if it contains a bunch of expansion content (zones, skills, weapons, a dungeon or 2, and new story) that wouldn’t be worth paying a few dollars for?
Something I care alot about, so wall of text incoming. Guild missions are important to me – and to many in my guild – so Ive put a bit of thought into them.
My thoughts on missions are as follow:
Guild Bounties.
I would make four changes to guild bounties:
- do away with the random draw. Let guilds pick their targets. The analogy would be a bounty hunter looking at wanted posters and choosing which he is going after. This would have three effects – allow smaller guilds to do easier bounties, allow guilds to make sure they do every bounty possible and support the other ideas Ive listed below.
- A guild bounty is just one target (not 2-6), but the difficulty of the target goes up based on the tier (so Tier One targets are easiest and Tier Three are more difficult, with possible new tiers added). Using the current bounties, Trilla would be a tier one target and 2-Mult would be a Tier Three target.
- Make a QOL pass at the bounty targets, giving them more interesting mechanics and improving their scaling for larger groups. They could also look at pathing and possibly even put some bounty targets in stationary positions (such as a bandit leader protected behind his gang in a cave).
- Improve personal rewards and potential drops, especially from more difficult tier bosses.
Guild Challenges:
- Again remove the random element and let guilds choose their challenges. This would allow smaller guilds to do challenges without worrying about wasting the trigger on something they do not have the people for.
- Add new tiers of guild challenges and include massive fights like a downscaled Marionette or the scarlet zone invasions.
- Tie past living story steps into challenges (have us protect/wrangle lost devourers at The Hatchery or clean up supercharged toxic stalks in Kessex Hills).
Guild Puzzle.
- The only change we need here is a QOL change – some way for groups to open the doors in case one person doesnt make it through in time.
Guild Rushes and Treks
Maybe consider a lower tier to guild rushes that only requires 6-10 people to finish, instead of 15. I love Treks (told you I love missions – my guild still does a T3 trek every week) as they are.
New Category: Guild Dungeon.
These would look alot like Guild Puzzles and be similar in length (and could, at least initially, even possibly use the same maps). The difference would be – instead of logic puzzles, there would be a series of enemy encounters (including bosses and an end boss) requiring large group tactics to overcome. This alone would add alot of potential to guild missions.
Ideally, something like this would have multiple tiers with increased personal/guild rewards at higher tiers.
I really hope this thread stays alive. Alot of us do care about guild missions.
(edited by Blaeys.3102)
I would like to keep Marionette as a lot of people. Why not making a guild mission out of it after the “Living Story” time is served? It could have 3 tiers (tier 3 as it is now, tier 2 with only 2 lanes, tier 1 with 1 lane – but still 5 different wardens, meaning that in tier 1 you have to defend the same lane 5 times and must enter the arenas in every phase). I am pretty sure that would be a really great event for a guild to do this.
Why not 25 player dungeons :P imagine doing CoF P1 with 25 people, where mobs/bosses health scaled up and got new abilities :P
haha, just a silly idea
I have a suggestion for the “polls”. I don’t think the forums would be a few good idea. My understanding is most players do not use the forums. I myself avoided them for the first 6 months I played the game. Therefore, I believe the polls need to be taken in game, however, I agree with some of the other posters. They shouldn’t be a check the box, or on a scale of 1-5, you need an explanation in a players own words of what they do and do not like.
My suggestion is open up a research lab within Rata Sum, not Lion’s Arch. Put the little Asura’s to work, have a PvP, PvE, and WvW divisions within the lab. They should take the surveys which can be emailed to you for reading. The ideas you’d like to follow up on, make a forum thread for posting the original idea, and what you can/can’t follow up on out of it and start a discussion about it here. Give credit to the guy with the idea so when something pops new comes out in game that person can feel a sense of pride and say, “I influenced this update.”
Another thing I would like to suggest about the living story is that you have a whole world and one person is creating a ruckus. Who says one storyline has to happen at a time? The biggest compliant I’ve seen about Scarlet is that she does not seem to have anything to do with the dragons. Personally, I’m waiting to reserve judgement of Scarlet until her storyline plays out. If Scarlet has nothing to do with the dragons, I would like to suggest you start putting out another storyline to progress the dragon one. I feel the world would be more alive and dynamic if you didn’t just have one villain moving at a time. To do this you would have to lengthen the amount of time “temporary” content is in game which would address another common complaint.
I’ve suggested on another thread making us care about the npcs. One of the things I really like in console RPGs is you can do side quests with npcs to find out more about their background and what makes them tick. Perhaps Braham is responsible for his father’s death and that’s why Eir doesn’t seem to like him much. Maybe Rox is actually working for Scarlet. I don’t know anything about these characters but right now they feel like they had no life before the Scarlet saga began.

I think it would be great to have the skins we unlock during meta-event such as the book of the mad king, the tequatl wing ect… in the window where we already have the zenith ones.
I don’t want to erase the skin for a new one, it’s just terrible, why unlock those skin if it’s for delete them in the next meta event?
Those skin are account-bounded anyway, put them with zenith skin. There is no modification on the economy, and in my opinion, it’s relatively easy to see which player have unlock those skin because of the achievement history, it could be totaly retroactive!
Thanks!

I’d prefer more armor skins.
Am I the only one who doesnt get real rewards from champs?
I got one exotic and probably 2 rares from this whole week and I killed champions on that pavillion almost everyday (well, they are legendaries, but you got my point).
In DGs, I killed some champions and didnt get anything at all….
but then again, this week I mystic forged my Colossus, so is it god just compensating?
They don’t give an exotic every time. I found you get 1 exotic about every 100 bags.
They are easy to farm, i’ve opened about 400 bags so far. If you are just killing 2 champs every 10 minutes in the pavillion then you don’t have much of a sample size.
What I think they should do, if possible, is shift the rewards to the success of DE’s. For every champ you kill in a DE the DE reward should be increased. It could be through a bonus chest or something else, but it needs to be successfully completed and should scale. This would stop the open world non-scaling champ farming, would encourage people to do DE’s and not fail them.
The bonus chest should also be limited to say 3 bonuses a day of each DE to prevent people from just farming a single event. This would encourage people to do an event a couple times if they like it, but then spread out to do other events.
Additionally the reward should also increase based on the time since the event was last completed. An event that hasn’t been finished in 2-3 days should reward a lot more then an event that is completed every 5 minutes. This would make people spread out into the mid level zones as well and make them more rewarding.
The only times I feel like I’m a ‘hero’ in an MMO were those few incidents where I stumbled upon a player near death. Those experiences alone, by themselves, hold more weight than everything in the GW2 story combined.
Hello Arena Net staff members !
I wanted to know if it was possible for you to make the achievements linked with Aetherblade Retreat still obtainable in the fractal version of the dungeon when it will be released ?
I would looove to get them all because these achievements are really difficult to obtain and I love that. Unfortunately, I don’t have enough time to get them all until tuesday.
I would really love to see these really challenging achievements in the fractal version of this dungeon.
I guess it is because I love difficulty, and also because I am a completionist.
Hope you can do something about it.
Best regards.

The current way that changing the Guild Message of the Day works is clunky and needs some updating. The issues and fixes as I see them are below.
Major issues:
- The edit box that pops up does not include the current MotD. This makes it far more difficult to make minor changes than it needs to be. You currently either have to completely retype the message or have it saved in a separate file which you can copy and paste from.
- The edit window appears over the current MotD and cannot be moved in order to view it.
Suggested change: Include the current MotD in the edit window.
Minor issues:
- Line breaks do not appear in the edit window until you continue typing after pressing enter.
- Text in the edit window is left justified, while the completed MotD is center justified.
Suggested change: Show line breaks as they are made and center justify the text in the edit window or left justify the final MotD.
I was thinking about the community aspect of guildwars and I think it would be beneficial if Guild leaders and officers could set there title to “guild officer” and “guild leader” assuming they are representing the guild they own.
This way when you see a player you can designate the guilds leaders and build a brand up. It would be nice to see a new guild and the guild leader tag under someones name, you would link that guild to that player.
I imagine Guild leader would be fixed to the 1 rank at the top, then guild officer would be a tickbox the leader enables for that rank to allow them to turn on that title.
If you want the SAB to stay permanently, type:
1UP
If you wish for the SAB to not stay permanently, type:
Game Over
Important Note:
I encourage all of you to explain why you would like the Super Adventure Box to stay as a permanent addition.
My reasons are, this content alone restored my childhood. I just spent all night constantly playing this content over and over with glee. I’ve never nerdgasm’d so hard in my entire life. The classic Bowser laugh when you are fighting a boss or die, the rupee sound effect when you pick up Bougles, and the monkeys from Donkey Kong. I mean, seriously.
This would seriously be a great addition to players to go mess around in for some R&R after a long day of grinding, world vs world, or PvP. It’s very fun, very engaging, and just all out amazing!
Speaking just for my self: I want to see more content – like new areas instead of gear progression. If I wanted to play for gear progression I would had play other games (like WoW) . Ascended Gear should have the same stats like exotics, no more no less.
I always said that one of the great things about Guild Wars is that there are no gear checks. You get your max level gear and (as long as you are using that build, at least) that’s it. Well, apparently I was wrong.
A difference between this and armor infusion in Guild Wars 1 is that you just needed to do a single thing in Guild Wars and you had infused armor and that was that. It was not a grind. One thing that was annoying about it was that you had to do it again if you were wearing different armor, something which also seems to apply here.
Of course, that brings up an interesting point: It also just buffed whatever armor you already had, rather than make you replace it. That is a huge difference, as it keeps that armor still relevant.
Furthermore, nothing like that was present in any of the Guild Wars campaigns after the first one, which suggest that it was decided that it was not really a good gameplay mechanic. (There was the Nightfall faction grind to get past the beginning, I guess, something which was generally frowned upon.) Now we are going in the opposite direction and even taking it a step further by making the gear actually have better stats.
I don’t like it. I’m not going to say that I’m going to quit the game over it or something, because I enjoy this game a lot, and overall, that’s not really going to change that. I don’t like it as a feature, though. I’d rather see something like the Eye of the North territory buffs (not tied to gear and also not NECESSARY to do any content) if we’re going to go down this road at all. (Not the PvE-only title-based skills, though. That was a terrible idea.)
(edited by Signet of Forums.4397)
Yeah, I’m disappointed, just watching the manifesto again is heartbreaking… maybe some of the Dev’s are watching it too and also rage in frustration?
As for feedback… there is still time to apply a new mechanic that will mitigate the “feeling of wasted effort” that we are all having. Making our current gear upgrade (get mats from the new dungeon put them in the forge = Ascended armor) will help ease the transition as all the gold we spend “doesn’t get wasted” and after that forgetting about new tiers and simply manage upgrades through infusions (different dungeons require different infusions).
In the meantime I will stay cautiously optimistic, I’m abandoning my alts since I don’t know if I can keep up 1 toon “up to date”, maintaining all 8 would be impossible for me (regretting buying the extra toon slots..).
Also I must stop gem purchases for now, not making a “stand” or anything like that simply, as your resident economist adviser can tell you, in times of uncertainty rational people stop spending money, at least until they feel its safe to spend again.
Right now I don’t feel safe.
