I’m looking for the same thing, but I like to use staff (longer attack range), is there any good build for tempest in HoT (and others)?

Reading thru all these posts made me so sad, I’m a new player and I chose Ele for the lvl boost… the more I play, the more I realize how squishy he is.. big cooldowns, weak dps, weak def, I don’t want to roll other class as I want to play at lvl 80

I really appreciate all your inputs, honestly when I roam HoT with default exotic gears, I barely survive (not sure if it’s my skill or the said gears).

I like to explore the game gradually, first in Tyrian maps only, but I want to do that as a Tempest, so I don’t mind roaming in HoT to collect enough HPs.

As per your recommendations, I will check LFG for “HP trains” and see if I can keep up.

What’s the quickest way to earn hero points (and gold being second priority) to unlock Tempest on my boosted character?

I’m new to the game and I used the level 80 booster, I thought I could play full Tempest when I did that, but now realized I need a lot more hero points to fully unlock tempest (all the skills).

Now I’m just roaming around to do activities and complete the maps, is this the only way to earn more hero points?

For gold, it’s not a priority for me right now but any tips on maximizing gold earning while roaming are helpful as well. Thx all.

Right now I’m only doing PvE and WvW, but curious why you said it’s no longer possible? Those sigils lost their effects?

I played Ele to lvl 30 and then used the booster to get to lvl 80 thinking that I could unlock tempest, but then I realized I need a lot more hero points to fully unlock it.

So now I have to stick with normal Ele builds, I prefer D/D because the spell cast is faster compared to Staff, and so I stumbled upon this build: http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Elementalist_-_Dagger/Dagger

Is this build still valid? If not are there any other suggestions?
