I cant wait for the people addicted to the never ending Skinner box model leave,
it gives me hope that with those kittenmain… remain to have fun and hopefully this will lead to communities the old school mmo’s once had.

Gated content only works if that content is rewarding in some form. Even if you could do dungeons only once a day right now in GW2, not many would do them simply because the rewards are so distant, they don’t seem worth it. You would feel like you’re getting nothing for doing that daily dungeon.

Gating works in WoW because raids are actually quite rewarding to the players. A player can enter a raid expecting to get a piece of gear, and at the very least currency that’ll help them obtain other pieces of gear outside the dungeon. The difference is you can raid once or twice and get gear, while in GW2 you have to do the dungeon 8 times to get a piece, and even then it’s only cosmetics.

First, it was ment to be sarcastic.

Second, I dont need an “incentive” to play the game… I play because I like playing the game… I need inventives to do things I dont like doing. I enjoy running the dungeons every now and then… eventually I might get the set from that dungeon.

If you only limited getting tokens to once a day or week like wow does then the group of people who have no self control or have nothing better to do are forced to only progress a set amount of hours a week.

This is how blizzard can kitten out an 8 boss dungeon with 3 modes and have people run it for months on end, limiting there progression to ~10 hours a week.

Now your suck with people who played over 250 hours complaining there is nothing to do!

Tired of spamming chat or wasting money warping to a dungeon area to hope to find a group? Since there is no LFG tool atm, I decided in my boredom at work to quirky wip one up this morning and put it on my EC2 instance.

Simple to use, log in to FB, put in your class, level, server, and what your looking to do and hit start it will list people who are also looking for that dungeon “or any dungeon”.

DISCLAIMER:
It is probably buggy and I havent put any time into styling it for the desktop or mobile platform (but it should work for both right now in its ugly state). If everyone hates it I will stop working on it and will have only lose the few bucks for domain registration, if it becomes popular I will put a lot more time into polishing it and adding new features (plus mobile apps). Will this probably flop? Yea… but you never know.

Most games are wastes of time. It’s why they’re games instead of jobs.

There is really nothing useful about having a Thor’s Hammer Of The Heavens with it’s +100 AOE lightning damage and 35 second stun.

I dont get why some people dont get this… I play because I enjoy playing… Not because I have some need to work for some illusionary reward (though getting something special like a cool weapon skin is nice for those who put the time in).

Would like this as well…
