Guild Wars 2

I purchased this game when it was first launched some years ago. Back then, ranger’s pets suffered from poor AI, doesn’t have enough damage output and have poor survivability, which made ranger a rather mediocre profession.

I am thinking of playing Guild Wars 2 again. Are the ranger’s pets finally viable now?

I am trying to build a full time support ranger,hence my question. I still couldn’t get the trait to work though. Hopefully some experienced ranger can provide some advice,I’m probably missing something here.

In the meanwhile I have sent a query to the ArenaNet support team as well. Will update here once I have an answer from them.

The description of this trait states: “Moa, bird, and jellyfish pets grant AoE vigor (5s) [sic] when activated.”

I have two questions:
1. What constitutes as “activated”? Swapping pets?
2. Does the AOE vigor applies to allies?

I tried it out in PVP with two moas but the effect doesn’t seem to work (hence I couldn’t check if the AOE applies to allies). Will appreciate any help I can get. Thanks for reading!
