Crafting is way too easy at lower levels

The black lion trading post is absolutely full to the brim with every craftable you could use at lower levels at prices that are just too low, money practically has no value when it comes to craftables because you could buy whatever you need off of a heart or two. If a game is going to have money than it should be a limiting factor. I don’t feel like I have to work for any equipment pre-level 20 (and I’m saying this because I haven’t played past 20, I’ve had friends tell me it’s just as easy at 30), and why would I even craft when there’s nothing I could make me and my friends that would cost them more than 50 copper?

What I suggest is alter the way resource collection works. Currently there is no reason for anyone to not be mining every ore, collecting ever herb, and chopping down every tree they see. They’re just all over the map and collection materials are dirt cheap and allow me to get 50-100 resources per slot used. What we need is some sort of scarcity to resources. Maybe increase the amount of ore patches significantly but make it so only one person can take a given ore patch until it respawns, or decrease the amount of uses you get off of a pickaxe so you actually need to fill a good amount of your inventory with pickaxes to mine every ore you see, or you’d need to restock often so I would need to have a trade-off between inventory and resource collection. I could still leave town with every type of collection tool equipped but I can only gather so much.

Or even if you don’t change the way resource collection works, you could do the minecraft thing and have it so you have to wait for things to finish crafting for a reasonable amount of time so I won’t be making an ingot every second.
