Thank you for all the replies. I have much to learn as an Engineer and also need to find my niche when it comes to play style. If anyone has any good Engineer resources that aren’t already stickied I’d greatly appreciate it!

Leveling Engineer looking for a casual to semi hard core mature guild interested in and active in all aspects of GW2. My main focus is PvP but I enjoy leveling and PvE content.

Just from reading around the forums I am interested in condition builds. I’ll have to look into them more.

As for servers, going to stick it out. I’ll re-evaluate at 80. I’m not looking to switch to a server that dominates at WvW, just don’t want to be stuck on a low pop server that never can win due because of that.

Please excuse me, my engineer is quite young. Level 12.

When I chose to give GW2 a try I read up and immediately was drawn to the Engineer. I was so excited for guns! So far at level 12 I have unlocked grenade and bomb kit. I feel like I’m always running around strafing/kiting and lobbing grenades all the time.

Levels 1-5ish I was using my pistol a lot. Now I feel like it’s more of a stat stick. Are there any builds that mainly use guns (pistols or rifle) and use grenades/bombs as a secondary tool?

Maybe it’s me not switching kits/back to my pistol enough that makes me feel this way? Should I be tossing freezing grenade, poison, blind then unloading with my pistol? I know every encounter is different and PvP is more reaction situation based. I really want to enjoy Engineer and I am I just feel like I haven’t grasped the class mechanics right. Advice on a build?

P.S. I’m on Kaineng server and we constantly get rolled in WvW. Should I stick it out and hope the server population balances out or move while it’s still free? I’d really like to stick it out, I like the under dog position. Probably why I like the Engineer so much!
