Its not vabbi’s fault that they are going down, problem is some of the servers (like piken) have best link (underworld). Vabbi had underworld last time and they were strong and now got really bad link like Gandara with blacktide so they drop fast.

This, they could just have delinked uw but kept Gh, just as the link before.

Also its worth mentioning that none cares for ppt on vabbi. We dropped down a tier as we got fed up fighting Gandara for multiple weeks in a row.

We might drop down another tier but with PoF around the corner, people will just SIT out this terrible link. Also blame AG, like we do on /t

Instantly requeu-ing after a lost match. Timer instantly pops just to be matched with the same teammembers from last game. Most of the times we lost that game too.

I would rather wait 10minuts to play with/against other players than to lose 2 (or more) games in a row.

Losing rating feels worse than losing pips when there is nothing you can do about it.

First of all I’m not ON GH, I’m LINKED WITH GH playing wvw. If I would be ON GH, that would mean I used gems to transfer off Vabbi to you guys. If that was the case, I would use those GEMS to bandwagon to whatever server that is in t1 just like you suggested above!

Secondly, It’s not my first day ON GH (To use your words) but I have been on that server for atleast a year. Playing actively or not, it was my “home” server back then. I remember MM spamming LA, claiming to be the biggest guild of GH, and even that you guys used mumble. Some dude even went: OMG Cryo …. when I joked it about last night in EB mapchat.

I never claimed t1 servers to be more friendly than what t6? T9 servers were more friendly to be honest (apart from WSR, they are kitten :p ). Vabbi only seemed to have 2 rotten apples, 1 left for gandara and the other 1 went mia.

World linking could have been great but the way it was handled, we might have been better off with a full merge the first time we got linked.

P.S. I’m not even sure what you keep adding ETA’s and changing your posts but if you want to convience me how GH changed after I left, feel free to contact me ingame.

As much as I enjoyed my stay with FSP (not so much with deso) I tend to think that we will be linked with Deso again in 2 months and the cycle will repeat itself!

You clearly deserved better than stinky Gunnar’s Hold. How dare they linking you with a bottom server while you truly belong into T1 (that’s why your server was that weak that it needed to be linked) – well alright then. Buy some gems and transfer up – problem solved.

ETA: And jfyi: The bandwagoners didn’t abandon you, they abandoned stinky GH. It’s rather easy to get another free account, a bot program to level your chars to 60 and hop into wvw. Those who want to bandwagon already have several free accounts.

Just a slap in the face for original Vabbi members who seemed to enjoy the link with FSP (Great friendly people, open raids with organisation, prefer fighting over afking at spawn and complaing). But no, we get dumped back to bottom tier because of bandwagoning. But don’t worry, I wont be taking a place in your eb queue as that is no-existant!

After evaluating the situation after 1 week with the Alpine bordermap, I can say that the situation with the Deso-Vabbi linking is worse than before.

As some guys above me pointed out that: EB was for zerging and if i wanted to play smallscaled/roam i would have to go to the (desert) bordermaps. Well, now with the Alpine bordermaps back, small scalled fights and roaming is gone.

Currently we had 20+ queues on each border. If you check eb, you’ll find nothing but people afk or crying for a commander. Nothing but sheep on this server, blindly following a tag.

I always believed that Anets policy was: Play what you want, when you want.
Well, i want to play when i get home from work, not spend my evening in a queue to get into an empty EB (majority afk) or alpine border. I want to play my engi, without getting insulted because I play a class that cant “zerg”. Well, I can zerg as engi, as I happen to know how to position myself.

I have included a screenshot of reset on Friday. This is shortly before we dropped to a tick of 55. We had a queue on 2 maps(80+ on eb) but we can’t defend (or capture) towers/keeps . Our keep in EB had more holes than Swiss cheese. Glad Gandara wiped Piken and backed off, because we wouldnt have been able to defend it ourselves. Note the tag at the other side of the map. He clearly had no clue what was going on.

Currently we are “winning” this matchup and the previous 3 MU since the linking due to the deso nightcrew carrying us hard. Thanks Anet for looking at that, but I think the beta linking should be prio before adding something new.

I only see 1 solutions for the linking problem Vabbi has (apart from a rollback, but people wouldnt like that either)

Make a 3 way linking between:
AG-BT-Vabbi
GH-FoW-Vabbi
Or even kitten WSR-RoF.

Vabbi has become a bandwagon server into t1. If you cant relink us before the 3 months of beta-testing are over, can you atleast set vabbi to full? As more and more players/guilds transfer to vabbi just to “win”.

Did you check the vendor on ebg? I bought 2 of those gifts of battle yesterday so its still possible to get them with badges

I am just curious, what are you suggesting? Are you saying whole server linking is completely bad idea and should be canceled because you personally do not like it? Or that Vabbi should be linked to another server instead of Deso? Or that Deso is just bad server? Or perhaps whole attempt to bring players back to WvW is pointless because you really enjoy running around in empty map without enemies?

There is nothing bad with server linking, its just the fact that vabbi is the only server linked to a t1 server, while the rest of the links are made betwen servers placed between position 10 and 18. (Not taking RoS into account here). I feel other linked servers contribute something to their host server.

Yes, i would personnally like to be linked to another server, to a server where i dont get forced to play class x/y/z, just because your mindless blob cant win from the other servers mindless blob. “Too many scrappers, thiefs, rangers… No point fighting them” is something I’ve seen regular on mapchat. “We lost because not everybody is on ts” is other lame excuse. Commander isn’t even on TS, yet people follow him.

I do like the fact that Anet tries to bring people into WvW. The reward track made it possible to finish the last dungeon collections without having to run the same paths on a daily base. But seeing that we are linked to Deso, i cant say it brought Vabbi players bqck into WvW. As I just cant tell who was on vabbi before or who transferred to us because its only 500 gems to get into t1.

Ofcourse this is my personal opinion, but im 100% sure that more people from vabbi feeling the same way

EB is “empty” beaquse people in EB refuses to join TS, Vabbi people or new people in general. It’s hard for a commander to command and organise something serious when EB is full of people refusing to join TS. So they command on borders beaquse theres 3 borders and the queues arent as long. So it’s easier to organise with people who do join TS. If you prefer small scale fights and whatnot you can roam on borders.

I think you missed the point: NOONE in t8-9 told me how to play. ANET forced me back on a server i left before. Here, i get raid invite spammed while being in a group, mapchat spanmed to join TS. Which i cant join as i dont have permission, nor am i able to talk in the open channels. IF you want people to get in TS make it possible first.

But yea, blame the vabbi players! I (and several other vabbians) never asked to join some blob server that still plays to win!

Yes, you are queueing to a map with blob fights going on, its gonna be full, only EB and this border was queued at this time so you couldve joined 1 of the other borders while in queue or stayed at that border beaquse you dont seem to like big blob fights.

I was trying to make a statement here. I didnt queue for dbl, as i was on an empty eb. Doing some 1v1 and stuff i would normally do. SFR was 1 big blob, “avoiding” killing the 1v1s, yet pulling me into their zerg and kill me anyways. Deso didnt win a single fight during the period i was out today on eb.

At 1 point we were ticking for 135, but hey we had a queue on all borders and even 11 man queue on OS.

Hello, Cryokro here, (former) Vabbi player and former member of SWAT, the last wvw focused guild Vabbi had (disbanded about 1 year ago), Currently placed 38 in queue on our bordermap on Desolation-(vabbi)

3,5 Years ago when I started playing, I started on Desolation. I have always been a fan of open world pvp, so I gave WvW a try. But after a few hours I came to the conclusion that the WvW on Deso was such a disappointment! Why? Because some people were playing an upscaled toon and were told to commit suicide as they were taking up a spot for a level 80 player. Well it was not fun and it made me quite the game after playing for 1 month!

I came back 1 year later and the first thing I did was transferring of Deso! I went to Gunnar’s hold but left the game again after a week as I lost touch with my class.

During the Spring Tournament in 2014 a friend of mine asked me to come back to the game and come over to Vabbi. Man, it was SOOOOOOO much fun! Not many people but people were (apart from a few rotten apples) friendly and helpful. Small scale fights, roaming, even some GvG, it had it all! At 1 point we even managed to get back to t6 and queue 2 maps!

Now I’ve been linked to Deso again. Although the community seem to have improved. I just don’t feel “home”. Vabbi gets blame for everything while 99% of the Deso players cant point out who’s a Vabbian!

The situation here is terrible! If you aren’t suck in the queue for hours, you are stuck on an “empty” eb. Yes,empty as the majority just sits in keep/spawn hoping for a commander to come out of the queue and lead the braindead zerg and hand them lootbags!

On Vabbi we rarely had a commander or queues but my small guild (2-4 man) could do stuff by themselves and make a difference. We had fights, not 24/7 but the action at prime was ok and fun.

I don’t know why you linked us to a t1 server while the reset of the EU servers are linked to a silver tier based server! Vabbi and Deso has nothing in common, apart from Vabbi being their guest server before the Megaservers.

There were other ways where you could have improved the wvw experience for the lower tier servers. Like disabling the bordermaps, allowing a free transfer to a server of choice, ….

The damaged has been done to the lower tier servers. People are band wagoning to Vabbi as we speak seeing that we are medium ranked while Deso is full! Anet, I ask you rollback this stupid beta-linking, give me a free transfer or link Vabbi with another server! All I ask for is being able to enjoy wvw (roaming, small scale fights, … without lag or blobfests) with my friends and be useful for my server!

Apart from all the reasons mentioned (low rewards, no fights, blobbing, …) I got a few server specified reasons why i stopped playing wvw. Note that I play(ed) on a t8 server.

1. Alt accounts and transfers from t1-2 that bring over their rules. “We need to do it like that because Server X does it too”.

2. Commanders with big ego, most of them are ktrain commanders that cant even read map chat.

3. A guild that transferred to a t2 server because they were too good for the server that came back after 6 weeks, with ofcourse server X’s rules and still feeling too good. And now thinking they are the reason why the server is doing “good”.

4. Winning the matchup because the server only plays, read pvd, between 3 am (gmt +2) and 8 am. While we lose the other 19 hours. The other servers we fight kinda gave up fight us because of that reason.

5) People thinking we can get to t7 (100 rating difference) but we cant even get a positive rating.

And people that modify my opinion on the server specified forums because i disagree with their Server X rules.

I got a 3 pug stories:

first 1

Running a level 49 fractal, 3rd fractal we get grawl boss. Failed the first time saving the prisoners, on our second attempt we have 1 left and we still need to throw 4 rocks.
Since the grawl is next to the last prisoner I jump in the lava (we would have wiped anyways). I get kicked out even when i was the only 1 (trying to) CC the grawls.

Joined another party and we ran the same first 2 fractals atleast 15-20min faster than with my previous party

2nd:

I was doing yet another fractal. For the last spot we get a 2nd engineer. During swamp i notice that he only auto attacks. As 2nd fractal we get cliffside. Again the engi didnt nothing but auto attacking with pistol/shield.

When i ask him to get a real build and do something else than AA he ignores me. After being fed up with him, i start a vote to kick him. Something I don’t do unless they dont have the required AR.

My party refuses and treatens to kick me instead. So i decided to just autoattack for the rest of the run. After the run the other engi tells me that exilir build is good for fractals. Note we had 1 mesmer and 1 other engi so his bleeding for AA pistol didnt do a thing.

3rd:

Today i see a recruitment for fractal saying: 1 warrior/guard

Party got 2 warriors and 1 guard already. When i join them they say: Grab warrior or kick, I asked why? Was told that engi didn’t had dps, Clearly someone that got no clue how engi works

Tbh from what I saw SWAT was putting up a pretty kitten decent fight against you guys past couple of months seemed back and forth most the time. You and I both know its true ^^, im just bitter cause I enjoy the fights against WVW way more than any of your other guilds like cc(+pugs), tash or spacemen

Haven’t seen a SWAT group since your whole server started to move only in 40 man pirateship zergs, not even sure if they are even raiding actively any more. And yes, they put up a decent fight, but it was not really back and forth, especially with even numbers.

There are several reasons why we dont raid actively. But the biggest reason lately is the lack of interest or being fed up with the clown control constant whisper spam asking for a gvg. We dont want to gvg them because they are terrible bad and 99% of the time they would lose to us in an open field fight when they have 2 times our numbers.

Ive to agree with DreadxWolf that most of our fights between wvw was back and forth. We either won or we either lost. But unlike wvw, we dont have 30+ members (each day) for our raids, more like 15.

As a player from vabbi its sad to see what happened to wrs, they were always stronger than us untill 6 weeks ago. I will try to give you my version of the situation (could be a little biased)

It kinda started when vabbi started to have a decent nightcrew (15-20 people from what ive been told). That crew made sure we kept our t3 keeps (or upgraded it over night) and took the t3 stuff from both fort ranik and wrs. some guilds that protected wrs bl got fed up with it and stopped spending gold on upgrades and since last week even stopped defending it. Fr doesnt have that much coverage at night since they are a national server and the canadian population is rather low.

Untill last week wrs was still putting up a fight during primetime, mainly wvw and cc/tash + pugs. This weekend, both wvw and CC transferred of wrs. (Been told they went to aurora glade) i cant say im happy about it or sad. They were nice people to fight against (Apart from the wvw commander, since he didnt like my magnet pulls when his stability dropped). I think those are the people you are talking about.

Lately ive seen unFO trying to make a difference but mostly in vain because of the numbers Vabbi currently have.

Vabbi has been organising themselves over the last few weeks and it is finally showing off. Too bad some wrs members rather transfer than to lose the matchup from vabbi.

Vabbi: some good roamers are based on Vabbi though there’s almost only zergs during primetime, I guess. During the day there’s some small groups of maybe 5 – 10 ppl trying to take towers and a keep here and there. This week they really push hard into our corners and since friday we had some nice fights against evennumbered groups of Vabbi. We’ll see how that works out I don’t know what’s up with the guild VIN (vis in numeris) though. I think there’s quite a few of them but I mostly see them roaming. I guess it’s a roaming guild?

I like the fact that you give a somewhat accurate version on the situation on Vabbi but there are a few things that i want to point out/correct.

There aren’t only zergs. There are a few organised guilds on Vabbi. Something I mentioned in my previous post. Currently (this week) there are 2 active WvW guilds, SWAT and WAR. The issue is that people just stick to them. Simply because there is no other commander who wants to step up.

After being in t9 again last week, most of us realised it sucks to be in t9. We would get (omega) golem rushed by FoW atleast 4-5 times a day on our border. It was a little overkill, which made us stop upgrading our stuff. Which made it easier to cap it again.

This week we finally promoted back to t8 and so far we have been able to defend our border. Something we failed in the past. During primetime we often lack numbers to defend our border, fight on eb and push another border. Sometimes we get told our border needs help but turns out they would have been able to defend it.

The biggest mistake you made was saying that VIN is a roaming guild. VIN used to be the (only) biggest active pve guild on Vabbi. 3 weeks ago it disbanded because the leader and the officers transferred to Gunnars hold, Gandara or SFR. Some will still rep VIN for unknown reasons. For the last few months vin didn’t had a big influence in WvW anymore. This was because their main commander left to gandara.

I think HtFde and Kungsmurfen gave a somewhat accurate version of how the 6 lowest ranked servers are but I felt like I just had to contribute to this.

For the last few months we (vabbi) been going up and down between t8 and t9. For months Dzaganur dominated the t8 match. I do not agree that Dzaganur (Dz) was the better server when it came between them and WSR. Dz had numbers (lots of them) but WRS had more organized guilds (WvW, TasH, OTAN,… ) During primetime (and at night) it was often WRS that dominated but Dz had the upperhand most of the time during the day. Us Vabbi, we are always outnumbered and during the day we went from retaking our borderland to retaking our corner in EB. During primetime we tried to stick in eb to fight.

WRS gave nice fights while Dz just outnumbered us 1 to 5+. Even when you roamed and you wanted to flip a camp, 10+ Dz would just come out of nowhere just to make sure you died.

2 weeks ago Dz finally promoted to t7 (For months they made sure they didnt promote to t7, Hench why they didn’t really played the last few days) and we got matched up with Fort Ranik. I’ve to say it was 1 of the better matchups we had in a long time. FR felt really weak and until Monday, we were still in the lead for winning the matchup.

Sadly we dropped to t9 this week. With all my respect for FoW and BT but I feel like we are being punished for having 1 good week in WvW. I did see a decrease in Vabbian players this week.

Here’s my summary of the bottom 6 servers.

WRS: Most organized server. Sometimes I wonder if they even have pugs zergs in the evening. Always nice to fight the WvW group. Although most of the time that guild got more numbers than our pug zerg. I like to magnet pull their commander and watch the guildraid collapse.

OTAN is annoying and won’t let me solo roam. Stop chasing me with your 5man condi group :p

Fort Ranik. Only fought them once. Didn’t impress me much. But it was fun to have a 3 way fight on vabbi border. Can’t remember the last time we had that.

Uw: Been too long since we fought them. We have been swapping places in t8 for months now. Last time we fought them, they did had a hacker thief. (not going to judge an entire server for that). The Zerk guild should change their name to condi :p

FoW: Stronger than we fought them the last time. Im not sure if the picked up numbers or if we lost people because of this boring Matchup. Likes to flip Bt border all day long.

Bt: They have a nice zerg from time to time during the evening. During the rest of the day, you see small groups trying to flip stuff in eb or green borderland for mapcompletion. Most of them are below bronze rank. I hope they restore quickly because t9 really needs a 3rd server to fight.

And now my own server: Vabbi.

We don’t have much organisation. There are a couple of guilds that try to do WvW activities (SWAT, WAR, star, ACT, Fury) but they just don’t have the numbers. We have some good pug commanders but when they don’t tag up, we have almost no people.

My guild (SWAT), tries to do raids on a daily base but most of the time we have 10-15 people. We do wipe mindless zergs because we can outsmart them but we could use 10- 15ish more members to make a difference.

When it comes to defending I can say that most of vabbi don’t care about our border. Even if you spend an entire day upgrading bay/hills/garri to t3 it will be t1 again the next day. But we will defend our stuff in eb.

Overall I would say that vabbi is the smallest server but we manage to do with the people we have. Even when it can be frustrated from time to time.
