im also having random d/cs and tiny lagspikes. avg around 30 ping then sometimes 1600 ping or a straight d/c to char select, at which point I can log right back in with no problems. bizarre :/ Was fine before the last patch, so its easy to blame that but dont know if it was the culprit.
Unlike OP, im d/cing just about anywhere, doesnt seem to matter. Queensdale mapping on an alt, doing the Mark 2 boss in Mount maelstrom, once while just roaming around verdant brink, and once right before killing a legendary I needed for achivement in silverwastes ( that one was real nice lol

Never had an issue like this before playing gw2 so i dont know where to start for a solution
