I think the reason why there’s no Bank / Merchant / Trading Post in PvP is to prevent PvE’ers from having free travel.
If someone is in Frostgorge and needs to access the bank, that person can just enter the mist, access the bank, then hit Leave the mist button and get sent back to Frostgorge.
I haven’t played GW2 for awhile, so I’m not sure if that’s still the case. It’s pretty ridiculous IMO. When I did play, I wanted access to the bank many times and going to LA was such a hassle.

I had the pleasure to meet DreamyAbbadon yesterday. He was nice enough give and show me a few pointers. He did exactly what he wrote in the original post and backed it up by taking on Svanir and took minimal to no damage at all (even without armor and traits). The guide is very useful and I recommend anyone to read it over and try it out.
