Anet have already said that no other players time is more valuable than anyone elses, so limiting points gained by time is not an option.
But at the same time they make the playing time of those people playing at non peak hours more valuable then of those that play on the prime time by letting the nightcrews gather up at some specific servers to roflstomp the WvW maps at night, while forcing the people who play at primetime to divide equaly among the servers if they don’t want an abyssimal WvW queue.
The statement by a-net is flawed in it’s essence and contradicts with what we have ingame.
I concur; I constructed a reasonable example on GW2Guru’s forums in which I proved the value of nightcappers is up to 9x that of a primetime player in terms of points gained for their server, if the nightcappers can take almost all of the map points (and it does happen, see link below for proof):

As for A-Net’s responses, there are two possibilities. They either have no clue about how WvW actually works de facto, or they’re so obsessed with upholding their own creative vision for WvW that they’re blind to any other point of view, even one with an argument based on logic and reason. In either case, I believe the correct phrase to describe the situation is “ignoring the elephant in the room”. In the end the players will vote with their feet (and their wallets), and leave the game unless the issues are addressed.
I’ll keep an eye on this over the next few days and weeks, though it seems odd if this has always been the case as Beyreva has said.
Going to craft some Lv.5 simple bronze armour for my new warrior today, I noticed the recipe for Mighty Chain Legs (Simple) requires the following ingredients: 4 Vials of Weak Blood, 14 Bronze Ingots, 4 Bolts of Jute and 8 Spools of Jute Thread (screenshot linked: http://i1121.photobucket.com/albums/l520/astralphoenix777/SimpleMightyChainLegsBug.jpg).
Not only is this not the same formula used for the other Mighty Chain (Simple) pieces, which require panels and padding, but it seems way out of proportion for the created item. 14 Bronze Ingots, really?
Please could someone clarify if this is meant to be like this and/or has always been like this; or if this is some sort of weird bug.
Sadly, I don’t see how this can be prevented. You cannot stop the other person from killing the GW2 client process and terminating their connection to the server. It’s very easy to set up a batch file to this end as well. If armour repair costs were removed from WvW, which is probably why this nefarious technique is used, then we would probably see it done a lot less.
Well, even since the bug was fixed I’ve had about 7-8 dye drops, including a black and a white (yes, lucky me) and a couple of other rares to boot, so I’d say it’s just bad luck.
