In the name of The College of Statics, Dynamics, and Synergetics, may Asuras be granted a robotic mount (and others races too! They should be able to push two levers)
Glory to its majesty, Scruffy, Amen.
I’m playing mostly between three classes : Engineer (which I know the most), Elementalist (which I enjoy while being terrible) and Thief (I’m average on it).
At first, I played Thief Crit&Hide, as most (D&D, and whatever other set) thief players. I found that I don’t really like that playstyle, even if I were doing correct. I’m more like CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGE -Oh- I’m dead. Or Half-Support. I love to. I tried a more tanky and very pesky one : Stealth survivor. Most of my build were Power+Toughness+Heal, with some damage increase on low heal target. I was here to cap, to kill low heals, and to disturb. Fun enough.
Now I gave a shot on Venoms and despite for now I’m not that efficient, I’m having more fun.
So here’s the build. It’s not mean to competitive play, of course, but if you want to have fun. I’ll likely change things over time (for example I’m not sure if I must use Venom elite over Thiefs elite, one is great as venom itself, but the thiefs share your venoms) :

Some tips for more fun :
- Venom stand for 30 seconds and have a 36 seconds cooldown. Take your time to apply them on the right target (Mesmers will send you to hell, so does Necros, if your alone).
- Never forget, you share them to friend at fairly close range (extremely important for Torment efficiency)
- Use two of the four venom at once should allow you to decide (in your favor or not) the whole fight.
- Venom give 2 stack of might for 23 seconds, it’s better to use venom before you loose the boon
Some combos for more fun :
Get down : Spider Venom + Scale Venom + Unload or Death Blossom. The combo you’ll use often to kill. To use wisely, both Unload and Death blossom will consume most of your charges, be sure to target the right person.
Leave me alone : Skelk Venom + Devourer or Basilisk Venom + Body shot or Dancing dagger whenever he get closer. This also can be used to chase, call it forever immobilized&/orCrippled.
Just shut your mouth : Head shot > Basilisk venom + Auto attack twice> Head shot until you run out of Initiative. You can add some more venom to add damages, but it’s not the purpose. Make sure you run out of Basilisk venom before headshooting again, there is great chance the enemy will dodge after the first headshot.
Have fun ~

So do Engineers…
Don’t mess with Engi. They got only ONE decent elite but one of the bests in this game : supply drop.
That’s the only boon which still stick me to sPvP. I don’t get that reward marathon yet, but all I care is my sPvP experience, and no matter how the reward is good, it tastes awful if I suffered to get it.
Well I just prey when less players will spam the servers, it will get more “peaceful” and enjoyable.
I want to give a feedback about this patch based on a non-hating, mostly objective point of view.
When it comes to PvE, the update is great overall. Despite some annoying bugs and World Boss Wombo pre-events bugs, the Wardrobe is extremely great and easy to use. You just have to manage well your transmutations charges and do good decisions, which is interesting to save a “value” of your skin. The news traits are, on a PvE point of view, good. As an Engineer, I can now play a Gadget build without being ridiculous.
But when it comes to sPvP… bloody gokitten hell, that’s AWFUL. As an engineer who like to play non-meta builds, I do not like to play 5vs5 just to meet even more Necromancer/Thief/Mesmeer wombo-duo which make the games like, 50-500? It happened often, not this is almost impossible to have a close call (450+/500) and therefore an interesting game. The new map is terrible. Just a small open thing so everyone goes in the battle without thinking and AOE win ? Well it somehow make my money, I just have to spam the hell out of reflecting shield turrets and I’m unstoppable, yahoo ! Bo-ring.
I understand you want to redirect players to tournaments, but did you even consider those, like me, who have a medium to bad level and just have to enjoy the 8vs8 melee ? I feel like now I must play 1vs1 based classes or meta (Kit again ? Oh no, that’s not even fun anymore). The only glorious part is that I can move on with my loved Scarlet rifle on sPvP.
I managed to have my PVE Engineer like I wanted it to be (Full Ascended, Full skinned, all instruments), but I feel like I have to stick to it. sPvP is now annoying and whatever how hard I try, I can’t do WvW because I hate it.
It mostly depends of your attempts.
Do you want to play the most played and unchallenging classe of this game (Warrior) with a legendary you see almost once per minute in crowded zones, or your want to make yoloswag unicorns with your thief to kitten your enemies off ?
Being a Ranger doesn’t imply to be a full leather suit dude, like being a Necromancer doesn’t lock you to black & green. You can make out of the Ranger a techno scout. There is a couple of armors which look mordern while being suitable for a Asura Ranger. My main point goes to CoE medium armor which is extremely suited to that : close to body (so the ranger can move easily), with a Hood, thorn style, etc. HotW look a bit more primitive but with the right colors, it can make the deal too.
There is also some bow/shortbow/axe which look really modern, but it doesn’t come to my mind (Asura Engineer here ~).
Premium skins which could make your day : Zodiac medium armor, Aetherblade medium armor.
This is a simple suggestion which wouldn’t be too hard to put on Guild Wars 2.
I noticed on another game that you could open a windows inside the game to write some notes, and you could make it appear or disappear by a simple shortcut. It sound basic but I found the idea great, saving me from Alt-Tab or searching a pencil and paper.
So what about an integrated notebook ?
Here’s a small perform from me of Midna’s Desesperate Hour I mentionned before. I may do others videos if people wants me to.
It’s like, why taking in real life Piano or Guitar. It depend of what you like the most.
Despite the Flute have only 2 octave it’s more than enough to play lot of music if you take some times to rearrange them.
And the Horn is really loud, you’ll annoy everyone.
Midna’s Lament (from Zelda Twilight Princess), slightly rearranged
Note : « - » mean switch
Start at low tone :
6 – 43 – 87 657 – 263 263
- 6 – 43 12 345 48543
37645 5453
Repeat as much as you want.
Sound great on Flute
