Guild Wars 2

Heyo,

after some time playing sPvP, i switched to the Revenant because micromanaging a lot of skills is really fun for me.
Since i’m pretty new to this game (i mean, i got ~150unranked games played) i still can’t grasp the concept of some classes or better: i don’t know what to do against them.

I’m playing the standard power-shiro with stability on dodgeroll. While the more condi-resistant traitline would probably result in a much better match-up, i feel like i shouldn’t take it because it hurts my other match-ups way more. Am i right about that?

While “normal” match-ups seem pretty straight forward to me, e.g. a power d/p daredevil, the d/d-Condidaredevil match-up feels so weird.
I played 2 or 3 games against a thief of this kind. And while i have to admit that this guy is probably a far superior player, i’m also overwhelmed by his possibillities to dodge EVERYTHING. Granted the fights didn’t last very long, because i just dropped after 15-20seconds, i really need some hints how to fight this kind of “cheesy” stuff.

Here are my problems:
The constant dodging (i think from normal daredevil-dodges, plus dagger 4(?), plus some stuff to regenerate dodgerolls i would guess) and the damage that comes with them (mostly conditions) just wrecks me over time. I also don’t know what “signature”-spells to dodge, everything kind of looks the same and i don’t really know the mechanic of every flashy jumps these guys can do.
Additionally, i don’t know when to hit them. And with which skill. Sword 2 just “felt” right, it’s nearly instant, but 90% of the time, i shot it in some dodgestuff. Sword 3 felt good, because even if it’s highly telegraphed, i atleast got no damage on me (additional thing: do condis still do damage to me then?)
All staff skills felt not that great. While Staff 3 maybe prolonged my death a little, staff 5 felt completely unhitable.
This matchup really frustrated me. I guess because i really don’t know what i can improve (i know there’s a lot, i just don’t really know what to improve :/ )

So if anyone has some advice for me, i would greatly appreciate it.

I had to redownload about 3gb of data with a patch, issue seems to be fixed for me too.

I have the EXACT same issue. I tried everything. Changing Clients, running repair, a complete clean reinstall, updating drivers… All the things you really want to do on a day off, it’s beautiful.
Hope there will be a fix soon, there isn’t even a crashreport that i could submit because when the game freezes, it’s only possible to terminate the process via task manager, leaving no reports behind.

EDIT: I can confirm, that playing vanilla maps, WvW and sPvP are not crashing the game. ONLY HoT Maps

Hey hey hello

Today my elementalist reached level 80. Now i got some problems with how the gearing-system in Guild Wars 2 works. I only want to fight against other players. So i want to get some equipment for solo roaming, but i’m not quite sure how and where to start.

I leveled with d/d but i would play fresh air ele too. Now i need some hints from you guys which specc to play (beginner friendly?) and how to gear up for it. I have ~35 Gold, ~700 WvW Badges ,~55 Laurels and 250k Karma to work with. I considered buying exotic gear out of the trading post. But is it a good start? What stats do i have to go for? I read about a zerk/soldier combination. But is that good for d/d too? what about the runes? I really dont want to “waste my money”.

I would really appreciate some help, esp. considering the new patch. I always find outdated stuff etc. Sorry for my bad english too, i’m no native speaker.
