Guild Wars 2

Alright, I’ve tried Disabling my Firewall, Allowing the program to bypass the firewall, plugging my pc directly into the modem (via ethernet cable, unplugging the main wireless router) and it still isnt working… Although I think i’m getting further… I can now select options, but still cant see the game or hear any music.

^^ that seems like it could be a whole lot of effort, and disruption just to get a game working.. but i guess i’ll give it a try…

I’ve had this since I brought it.. I can’t see the game, I just open to a black screen, and I can move the mouse and everything, no music, no picture, nothing, just a black screen. I’m starting to believe it could be a router based thing, but I don’t see any way to disable my router’s SPI Firewall and I cant connect directly to the modem… because the cable doesnt reach my pc… hmmm.

They’re 100% updated now, I saw the one that was still outdated, and still GW2 has the black screen problem, I also talked to a friend of mine that plays and he says that it might not be the graphics card, because I can run games like SWTOR, WoW, LoL, etc all perfectly with no lagg what-so-ever.

I edited the main post to add a gameadvisor log, i read it but didn’t understand it, hope you can find the problem from it! if you need more info just say!

Alright, Done all of that, updated all of my Graphics drivers, Installed DirectX 9 (the one recommended) and it’s still just black screening with no music, nothing, just sitting there. I have also deleted gw2.tmp and nothing.

any other suggestions? or will i need a new graphics card..?

alright, so I brought the game, and when I started it after the install and download had finished, it just went onto a black screen, and it wouldn’t play anything. I couldn’t hear any music, which I’ve heard people that have this problem can, and I CAN see the mouse.

People have also said it could be a program that starts when you run GW2, but I’ve looked on task manager when it’s been on the black screen and there’s nothing with the name they’ve given (Gigabyte OC Guru).

Anyone know what the problem is..?
