That new Obsidian Sanctum arena is pretty darn cool. To the famale HoD [VLK] warrior I fought there who I believe is the infamous Bllades, cu-dos to you; it was a kitten good fight. Got really close at one point but when you made me blow my cooldowns and stunned me afterword, it was gg. Hopefully it stays troll-free (doubtful) and we can all have some epic fight clubs in there.

Yeah we’re pretty bad. That’s why getting a GvG against us would mean so much to some, as they have been obsessed with it for 2 pages now. Trying to prove yourselves or what? :-)
On our part, we don’t feel the need to prove anything. If it was brought in another manner, we might get a small group and GvG. I like to get to know people from others servers and exchange. Stay classy in your requests (just like MU), bring them up with respect instead of contempt, and you might get a more positive response. We can care less about your funny taunts.
We enjoy WvW. A large portion of our guild is PvX and casual, not hardcore WvW/PvP. As Styx said, just like RH, we might be able to get a 5 man together for some GvG and learn a thing or two from you guys. It all depends on who’s online at the time. If you want a 5v5, hit me at N-A primetime and I’ll see what we can do.
Also if anyone (sup Skosh) wants a 1v1, hit me or Paragues. I don’t run a good duel build, but I like to duel nonetheless.

I find it funny that you are telling to IoM to stay classy when it was your guild who started the chest thumping with their PvDoor…
But since I’m not part of this discussion (i’m not IoM or ASH), i don’t care… I just sit away and watch.
Edit: and If you pull brotha posts as your excuse, well he won by trolling you hard.
Our guild? Since when does 1 or 2 people define the entirety of a guild? I invite you to go back and see for yourself; there were 2 or 4 (max) of my guildies who for some reason decided to come onto the forums to brag about taking over a bl. Does that mean my entire guild is walking around bragging about how cool we are? No. If the same thing was to happen with some of IoM’s or TFH’s or with your guildies, would that mean it’d be reasonable for me to go and say that everyone in those guilds are wimps who always talk nonsense? No. Other people don’t need to be brought into a problem they aren’t a part of.
As for gvg’s, I obviously don’t speak for my guild but I find gvg’s to be boring, meta-build zerg fests. The only strategy involved is in dishing out buffs, dropping AoEs, and making sure you have high enough armor to live longer than 3 seconds. Then you throw yourselves at each other until one side is dead. Small group duels and 1v1’s are more intense and strategic than that and are honestly more satisfying to win. So thanks but no thanks.

Not sure where SF was last night. Between the few hours I spent in the BLs last night, I barely saw any from that server.
On the other hand, GoM brought some significant numbers to each map. They gave us a good fight at Bay in the HoD BL. It was upgraded when they took it, but only a few of us had time to reach the inner keep before it fell. Nice work on the north gate – that may have been the fastest I’ve ever seen a reinforced gate fall! Later, when we pressed to take it back, you held out for a very long time in the throne room, and it ended up being one of the crazier battles I’ve seen. There were several times in a row where I was downed and a GoM player tried to use a finishing move on me, but I got a lucky rally in the nick of time, and I was able to keep going. Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good, eh?
I’m looking forward to our match-up against GoM again in week 6.
That was the end of our “green arrow” event. (Green arrow, as in upleveled) 90% of us were on lowbies. We always try to end the event with a spectacular fail, so we attacked a max upgraded bay. Then we failed at failing. I’m still disappointed.
xD that was a beautiful sight to behold. That first HoD push had me dying from laughter (no offence guys but surely your friend told you we had rams there right?), although the end result was as expected. Gotta love having a week like this where we don’t have to stress out to win and can just take a loss with some fun. It was a fun week SF and HoD.

Some people clearly need to learn the difference between “tactics” and “exploits”. The bay water gate “tactic” is an EXPLOIT, plain and simple. I highly doubt Anet intended to allow players to be rezzed through solid matter. If so, why would they even put up doors and walls? These are clearly supposed to be the ways that everyone is supposed to invade a tower or keep. If you are able to successfully hide a LIVING mesmer, by all means that mesmer deserves to port his allies in and punish the defenders for not checking carefully. There is no defending your claim. I also highly doubt that EVERYONE uses it considering how many people are saying that it’s a wrong thing to do. And even if most people did, it doesn’t change that it is an exploit.

The mesmer was just invited to guild tonight at the fight club and has never been to one before, he had a lot to learn as we went, so no worries. Was a good learning experience for us, too, since although KCRO is a branch of ApeX we don’t usually do fight club/roaming/GvGs with them, and it was nice to learn their playstyles a bit more. Well played DH. You guys never made a mistake on defense, and we made quite a few on attack.
FC, I understand why you “joined in” on DH’s constant attack on GoM BL, but you really should have stopped DH while you had the chance. Now, they are going to unseat you from first place.
GoM, lets admit it, we got some work to do on coordination. A lot of our defeats were very preventable. But don’t forget how far we have come in two short weeks. We went from barely holding our own in T8, to giving a T6 server a run for their money. And we did that without any transfers!
Also remember this, being double teamed is a compliment. When DH puts more people on GoM BL then we do just to hold hills, and then FC shows up with a 30 man, they are sending a message. They are scared of us.
GoM, however this match up shakes out, we got a lot to be proud of.

Had some EXCELLENT fun today commanding a 10-15ish man across all of the borderlands. Both FC and DH put up some darn great fights as we tried for a “papering” run of all the keeps. Props to DH though, we got 2 keeps in FC before we hit real resistance compared to taking 1 keep in DH and being stunted by a DH group defending their Garrison; so I tip my pistols to you DH. Overall still having tons of fun in this matchup. Keep it clean guys <3

It’s so hilarious to see these FC whine about how we “only focus on them” and how “big GoM’s zergs are”. 1) We are NOT only focusing FC. If you TRULY AND HONESTLY BELIEVE that GoM is ONLY focusing FC….please rethink your life. 2) People, it’s a fact of life that zergs exist. For people to whine and moan about how another server has a zerg simply makes them hypocrites. EVERY SERVER HAS ZERGS. Running around wvw is really a double edged sword. On one hand, the level of competition is ungodly low. On the other hand, I can actually run my completely destroyed build and still beat just about everyone I fight.
I keep logging on for a night every 2-3 weeks to get my MMO fix, but it’s always disappointing. Hopefully this big patch on the 25th improves things, but I doubt it.

What’s all this I’m hearing about GoM being all scaredy cats at dueling? While this might be true, you guys are obviously trying to A) duel the wrong people or 2) trying to DUEL THE WRONG PEOPLE. I spent over two hours yesterday on ET bl trying to find ANYBODY to fight. I wasn’t even being picky! I let people come at me in 1v2 to 1v5 scenarios (for a 1v1 I had to actually invite someone to my party and ask for it, a really nice ET guardian btw). Each and everytime I (no offense but I’m not exaggerating) started wrecking the group, they all turned tail and ran away. sigh
PEOPLE, IF YOU SEE A [ASH] SYLVARI THIEF, PLEASE FIGHT HIM. HE WILL NOT KILL YOU (I really don’t btw, I always play merciful but only when I’m roaming. To the 2 OS (warrior and guardian) who I followed to Star camp in GoM bl, it was fun! I imagine you were both calling me a wuss or something but if you’re telling me I should NOT stealth like crazy vs two excellent players who hit hard as nuts….well I thought of it as playing smart . Almost got the warrior though! Shame those 3 other NSP had to come and ruin it :/ .

Here is why people don’t go into GoM BL. Myself and one of my guild members, both on uplevel characters took GoM NN just for fun, then stuck around to defend it. We took a few of ya down then you must have called for backup!

Oh you mean like GoM and HoD constantly playing for seconds, and then combining their WvW guilds AFTER the organised** teamup fiasco backfired and sent pretty much both server into t8?
This post is stupid on many levels.
Firstly, GoM and HoD never played for seconds in our matchup, nor did they ‘team’ up for anymore than a couple of hours.
Secondly, even if it did happen, ‘teaming up’ and ‘playing for second’ are mutually exclusive concepts.
Thirdly, in the five weeks of our matchup, GoM and HoD won two weeks and NSP only won one, so even if we were playing for second we were so terrible at it that NSP somehow ended up second 4 weeks out of 5. GoM and HoD playing for second would ensure NSPs victory, GoM and HoD teaming up would ensure NSP being in third, both basically the opposite of what actually happened.
Fourthly, HoD and GoM in no way combined WvW guilds. One single guild leader made a conscious decision on their own to transfer off, and did not even take their entire guild with them and did not combine with any GoM guild.
Finally, both the servers being sent to T8 wouldn’t be attributed to that either. GoM dropped because of the sudden rating shift and that they were ‘busy’ with other things (which they bounced back from) and HoD dropped because said above guild had already stopped contributing, removing a chunk of our playerbase.
Similar to what Lepew said about their experience in T6.
HoD were winning that week against NSP (if memory does not fail but it might) and GoM recieved a transfer of a HoD commander whom coordinated the said fiasco (refer to calisto’s SS above), so yes GoM were ot attacking the leading server and camping NSP’s spawn to get seconds from their big bro (right after hod got more numbers and started winning, not sure was it the free transfers or just more server participation)
And yes the incident lasted a few hours because of a huge outrage on behalf of noble HoD and GoM players whom themselves said on the forums they were ashamed of their servers wrongdoings.
Correct me if im wrong, but I was under impression that a few guilds transferred to GoM, TCMM from NSP (before the drop to t8) , WvW from HoD (after telling their server it will all be okay lets just sit back until big bad SF move up, but they realised they would drop to t8 and transferred that same week) and i could be wrong, this is not bashing but i was under impression that 2 more smaller guilds (smaller than wvw whom i think are quite large wvw orientated guild) also went to GoM. Because you guys did not have such a high EU coverage at those hours when we had the HoD/NSP/GoM mixup, the only ones i remember seeing then were HH.
Regardless GoM have been better sports this matchup with less QQ/Flaming
My post was a reaction to whomever it was suggesting that DR and NSP are teaming up and that its what it takes to beat GoM
My statement of merging was perhaps unclear, what i mean by merging is a large HoD guild(s) going to GoM, you said it yourself HoD started to nose dive when WvW and friends stopped playing, and took a big chunk of your wvw population. Hence my term for merging.
The point being GoM really dont have a leg to stand on regarding teaming up.
Show me a picture of DR and NSP standing side by side Spawn camping GoM.

Just going say before making this comment that I am in no way looking down on DR and NSP for “double-teaming” us (we’re in first place by a good lead and you guys have got to knock us down a bit; understandable). However (and it’s a shame but I can’t provide a picture) I was, on numerous times, attacked by both NSP and DR. This in itself is reasonable, except after me and my fellow GoMs were wiped, I’d have the enjoyment of watching the surviving DR and NSP basically look at each other and walk away.
I can recall a definite moment where a few of us GoM were taking Briar (I on NSP’s bl) and there was a NSP ranger (OS I believe-pretty good fighter ) on the side of the tower. I started to duel with him and then out of NO WHERE a DR ele rushed in and knocked me down to about 1/3 of my life. I stealthed and backed out to regenrate health, all the while (and I don’t exaggerate) the DR ele and the NSP ranger regarded each other and the DR ele just walked away. Several more occassions such as this one occurred, another one definitely involving a DR guild named OINK hitting us from the side as NSP hit us from the front. Sorry, but that’s just complete bull. If that’s not an obvious sign of sort of teaming up going on then I don’t know what is. Again, I can understand the double-teaming on a server scale, but on small skirmishes such as this duel? Really?
