I play an ele, I’m currently rank 20 (not that that means anything) and very competitive. Looking for a guild, or just a group of people, that does tpvp regularly.
Why is everyone complaining about dueling. Anyone can “duel” tell whoever you want to duel to join a random hotjoin map towards the bottom of the list. Nobody else will join, you’ll have 1v1 for 20 minutes. If you want a 2v2, coordinate with the 4 people and have them join the same hotjoin map.
I really think some kind of ladder (and some rebalancing) is all pvp needs. Right now there’s no incentive whatsoever to play/win.
On a side note, I was in a tournament against 5 bunker guardians the other day….I don’t see how that’s possible to beat.
I’m not sure what this thread is about, but you’re saying if a thief has stability up, they will automatically kill their target with 6 button clicks in under 2 seconds 100% of the time, and that people shouldn’t complain about that?
I would absolutely love to have a 4th utility slot in place of the elite. That right there should be enough of a clue that the elites need changing. As far as the racial elites go, they’re pretty much all garbage.
Those skale mobs are a little buggy. I wasn’t able to kill them until I was a few levels higher either.
You have to learn to attunement dance, eles just suck until you learn how to do that.
Also I recommend using arcane blast and arcane wave for pve. Those two skills will almost kill every mob without any other damage.
I actually like Capricorn best. I Just avoid the ruins completely. Underwater sucks in every possible way. I just like the rest of the map, and the cannon is awesome because not many people know about it or how to use it.

pve is always easy for an ele, except for dungeons. Not saying dungeons are hard, but every single mob in every dungeon will 2-shot you, regardless of your spec or gear. You have to avoid all damage, or you’re screwed.
In pvp, try a tournament, you’ll see a huge difference in skill level even with the free tournaments. Good luck even killing a single person.
I don’t understand how eles are any harder to kill than a thief or mesmer. The only difference is that you may have to go around a wall to stomp them, and they do way less damage to you while downed.
I don’t get what all the kittening is about.
if you want nothing but damage, go with ruby orbs. Otherwise, yep, divinity.
Here’s the main problem I see with this game from my point of view (I play an ele)
If a 100B warrior attacks me as long as I have a stun breaker, teleport, or mist form available I have a chance. If not, I die instantly.
If a thief attacks me if I do not have lightning attunement and shocking aura available, as well as every utility skill available, I die instantly.
If any other class attacks me and I have every single thing on cooldown, I still have a chance to win, or at least survive long enough for some help.
I really want them to fix the current bugs. Half of the traits don’t seem to work, and if anything is close you can’t hit them with staff lightning auto attacks.
I don’t understand how people are complaining about this. You HAVE TO run off the point to kill the? If the ele is downed outside of the point, you’ve already done your job. Cap the kittening point then go down the ele. It takes like 15 seconds to res yourself with #4, and if you just shoot the ele one time during that he’ll be stuck in downed for at least 20.
I think they need to go back to the roots of GW1 and put in some variety.
The only way to win in Legend of Foefire should be to kill the Guild Lord. The 3 capture points should give a WvW orb type bonus for controlling them.
There should be different ways to win each map, requiring a creative build that is capable of winning in all maps, rather than – oh if we have 5 bunkers with perma-speed boosts we can get to all the nodes first and never die.
My main complaint with thieves is that they can stealth for who knows how long, and gank Svanir/Chieftan from 3-4 opponents without fail. Almost makes it required to have a thief on this map.
let me get this straight
You’re complaining that you get stunned for 5 seconds out of (at most)every 25, when you’re not attacking anyway? If the ele is sitting in your aoe for the full 5 seconds, you’re accomplishing what you wanted to anyway.
If this is your biggest complaint about a class that you can 3-shot and kill before unstealthing…… I don’t know what to say.
there are no dungeons worth complaining about except from Arah – all paths, and to a lesser extent CoF path 3. Everything else is simple. Yes there are some really annoying parts of each, but they’re all easily doable.
My biggest complaint is the lack of waypoints in more than half the dungeons, since this game is built around ressing and running back.
