^ What Apathy said.
I’ve never been denied a group either, and PUG’d all dungeons I’ve done so far.
Not everyone can be as lucky or and elite as you and Apathy. I care about those that are at the bottom not those at the top.
I read your first two paragraphs, and I have to ask, what the kitten are you talking about?
I have yet to see anyone be denied access to a story mode mission because they didn’t know the dungeon and didn’t have “good enough gear”.
Also, lol @ CoF explore being “low level dungeon”…exploration modes aren’t meant to be your first steps into dungeons.
Correct, Story mode is the first step, so the majority that go on story mode will not know anything and just try their best.
Try playing a casual solo player that doesn’t have a guild. I pug, which means you have to ask to get in groups or create your own. Sometimes when you ask people they will ask you if you did it before or your experience in the dungeon. To some if you say, “It’s my first time in Explore mode!” they will reply, “Yeah… no thanks! Good luck!” That is by definition being denied.
Will everyone do that? Nope, some will invite you and assume you know then get angry that your a newbie as was my experience.
Also correct, Explore CoF, is not a low level dungeon.

The problem is that you join a group that farms dungeon. These kind of people are always the worst to deal with (I know from experience).
I’ve ran plenty of dungeon PUGs with nice and cool people that don’t play the game as if it’s srs bsns but just for the fun of it.I’d recommend to try to find a dungeon group that isn’t farming, or join a guild that does dungeons for fun and challenge.
So basically since nearly all shouts and requests are for farms I better be willing to make my own group, hang out for a long time until I find non-serious gamers, or and join a guild!
None of those sound “fun” to me. Maybe this just isn’t a game for me. Some will love it some will dislike it. Just sharing my experience. Thanks for the suggestions!
I went to two lower level dungeons weeks ago and they were awful. People die a lot and it is just overall unpleasant! No problem right? That is the “challenge” other gamers keep telling be about that is so important! I would argue though what exactly they are talking about when they use that word, because it can mean a lot of things to a lot of different people.
What really shocked me is player attitude in dungeons on explore mode. Now I do not care if people do not know fights, you explain the fights. I do not care if peoples gear is not ideal as long as they try and are not afk! Now these statements are true to me, but players that take games more serious are outraged and deny you from getting in groups if you are not in the know; otherwise your not worth the time or effort to bother with scrub!
The best example of this was when I first went to Citadel of Flame in explore mode and tried my best to follow along, but at the last boss my group got mad at me and I did not understand what was needed at first, but later I understood what needed to be done! Little to late! Because when the boss was defeated I was kicked from the group so I was denied tokens!
Now some might say, “You deserve it! Because you did not do your homework or research!” and I will nod and say, “Well I guess you do have a point, so I got what I deserve!” But lets ask a question! Is this kind of challenge or game design that create this response from players fun, ideal, pleasant, or enjoyable? You decide! My feelings are no, it is not fun. I think games are meant to be enjoyed, played, and the adventure (unknown) experienced! Not the grind, raiding, research, number crunching, and spoilers that comes from “serious business” gamers.
Now I can expect this sort of poor design from nearly all MMO games, but I was hoping so badly that just maybe this one would push the envelope in social engineering to support a positive and supportive game community.
In conclusion it saddens me that these kind of experiences exist in MMO games still to this day with the same old gamer hate cycle, elitism, and raiders vs casuals garbage! I am done with dungeons, and just about done with this game. I was expecting far more from this game, but again shame on me for not doing my research and realizing although there are some baby steps being taken in this game to progress the benchmark of MMO games, it still fails like all others to fully grasp the value of social engineering in all aspects of the game!
