It works better than 3 separate zergs, TTS has used a variant of this strategy 2x and been close to beating it.

The problem lies in people not doing as asked. We have Commander Amber call for Commander Crimson and Commander Cobalt to set up their final burns partway through setting up the Amber one because Amber takes longer to setup. If one person has ignored Commander Amber’s instructions to use the harpoon gun correctly, not all stacks are removed, Amber takes too long to set up for a burn again, and we fail the event.

It’s slightly too unforgiving. I have no doubt we’ll make it but we’ll actually need luck as well as skill and strategy to do it (at least until the hype dies down), and I don’t think that’s very fair on anybody who is trying hard for this kill.

We’ll get the wurms beaten.
And then have words with Anet about how this needs some minor nerfing/extra time tacked on.
Still fun though :P

The wurm event is fantastic. I’m having so much fun working it out and being among the first to work it out. Where would the fun be if people just told us what we should do? :P

I think if more people listened to the strategy we’re trying out at any one time we might get a kill. Cobalt? Downed. Crimson? 5%. Amber? 45%. If you are participating in this event PLEASE listen to the commanders, it is the most frustrating thing when somebody just goes ahead and kills the abom, and calls in say for everyone else to kill the abom, when 80% of the local zerg can’t get the debuff on account of having the other debuff.
Sigh :P

It is actually incredibly fun working out these events and teaching what we know to other people to get different perspectives and ideas.

Yeah, it does get really, really frustrating when a pug decides, oh I won’t jump on teamspeak and will do exactly the opposite of what the commander asked everyone to do, but that makes it all the more sweet when you finally get the boss down.

IMO the most frustrating thing is having a really good run at something and time running out. We had all wurms down to <50% health (7th run? I think) and bam, time up. Makes it harder to figure out exactly how much deeps is needed to down them :P

WvW season starts, people on best performance setting get skill lag. I actually had to sit half of the last run out because my epic computer on lowest settings could not handle it.

Not only that, we’re guessing battery calls. We have to find out on our teamspeak who has the least amount of time remaining and go by that for calls. It usually works, but we shouldn’t have to deal with it. As we found out in the last Oceanic run, all of these things together can make or break the raid.

Skill lag – people stay longer clearing at turrets and zerg before moving to battery phase, leads to batteries on low health
Event timer lag – people either leave late and we have a bad burn phase, or they leave too early and a battery fails because it’s on low health because of skill lag.

Please fix this somehow Anet. It’s depressing and lowers the morale of even the most positive members of TTS (or other Teq running guilds).

Sounds like Knights of Tyria is pretty much perfect for you. We have around 35 members, most of which aren’t active (so rest assured you won’t be kicked for inactivity) with about 4-8 people online each day. We have two main leaders who are willing to answer pretty much anything you want to throw at us, and the rest are mostly members who have joined GW2 recently. We don’t have level requirements, you’re not required to be on our voice chat, and while we don’t encourage swearing, it’s really only a problem when a couple of our younger members are online.

I just finished one such race. No reward, and the race counted toward Crowd Favourite but not Frequent Sprinter. What?

Hi.
My boyfriend’s account has been hacked within the last 24 hours. He got an email saying that the email for the account had been changed, no authorisation or anything required. Somehow they were able to log in to his account from god knows where without a notification sent to authorise the login from a new place.
His character is online now but I know he isn’t because he is complaining about not being able to log into his account. He sent in a ticket.
Please help. He’s considering hunting down hackers and chopping their hands off (/joke) xD
