How it works
I have a dedicated server which every day, updates a whole historical price database for every TP item in GW2. It also creates PNG files for the historical prices, as well as a METASTOCK database to use in professional charting softwares.
(Ex: Amibroker is a software)

To get amibroker : http://www.amibroker.com/
The free version works fine, except you are limited in some stuff, like saving graphics, etc..

Installing bittorent sync :
To have the data up to date on your side, when the server updates it, you have to use bittorent sync. It’s a software that uses the bittorent protocol to synchronize directories across the internet.

BTSYNC keys:
There are two keys you can use. You don’t have to use both, it really depends on what you want to do with the data.

1) The whole CSV historical prices for buy and sell price, as well as the PNG files generated by ‘R’ quantstrat module.

2) The Metaquote files around 50Mo in 4003 files

Every folder contains a file named repo.txt which contains the item attributes if you need them.

Those keys are read only ones. If you modify or remove a file locally from the folder you synchronize with, it will be updated after a while (I guess) to match the server version.

How to import metaquote data in amibroker:

1) Launch amibroker
2) Menu File, Import Metaquote Data…
3) Button “Browse…”, then navigate to the file named MASTER in the metaquote folder (number 2 above)
4) Once the ‘ticker’ is filled, click on ‘import’ button
5) The window named ‘importing’ comes up and start importing the prices to amibroker
6) That’s it ! Items IDs appear on the left, and graphs on the right

Working with IDs:
To have the ‘human readable’ infos about an item ID, just navigate to http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/12860 and replace 12860 by the ID you want.
Or use repo.txt

Anet did nothing to counter-attack those hacks : hacks are non existent.

Any way to get the historical prices of the items from the API ? (sell and buy sides)
Right now I’m using GW2Spidy api but relying on GW2 servers would be better for me.

Hello dear devs,

Can we get a color blind mode in WWW and more generaly in the entire game ?
For exemple, what I know is wrong today : the team colors. Red/Green are too similar for most of people.

Suggestions :
- blue, white, red
- blue, yellow, red
- etc…

A simple question leads to a simple answer (yes/no)

I’m opening a VPN for my guild because we are having connectivity issues and lag due to our ISP. I wanted to know if that’s safe regarding the banning policy.

If one guild mate makes a bannable offence, will the ban he will get be on the IP address or just the account ?

As a side note, I hope it’s account based because I think banning an entire university hostel exernal IP just for one student cheating would be a little bit odd !

Where have you read that EVE is the same as GW ?

About friendly fire, in my opinion that would be super awesome. Cry babies would just be punished and care bears as well. Orb stealers also What means ‘going so well’ in your opinion ? Don’t you think some guys like games that are a little bit more open to gameplay than running and zerging like headlesss chickens ? The issue is that WWW leaves no place to indivisual gameplay. Want to take a camp alone ? well good luck if the guild master is buffed. Well, what else ? Jumping puzzle ? and, after that..what ?

Maybe not an ‘open fire’ but the ability to declare war on someone from your server would open miryads of possibilities in new gameplay as well as infinite tears !! I would love it.

Well, in your orb example… I find it great we can do that. That really mean the WWW is broken somehow. In Eve you are supposed to do that if you can do it (That’s why some people just LOVE the eve gameplay and metagame).

But I do agree that adding friendly fire in GW would be great, that would prevent such things to happen, or at least make it very very fun to be able to do it without anyone from your own team killing you..

zastari : yeah. Good ideas there. Do you think some guilds are willing to do that ? I guess the problem is, most of your ideas are considered metagame in Eve while considered griefing behavior in GW2 (and I would understand, as these two games don’t have the same target). What good meta-game can be done around GW2 which doesn’t involve something banneble here (while not bannable in eve ?)

As a regular Eve Online player, I was wondering how, in the current state of the WWW, one could play Guild Wars 2 in such a way that it would mimic some gameplay features of Eve Online.

I’m having a hard time thinking about some features being available in Eve and not in GW2 because GW2 is definitely not sandboxed.. Maybe the question is : what parts of GW2 are inspired, in your opinion, from the ‘sandbox’ context ?
